The agree new EFL rules are slightly different. From next season (not the one starting on Saturday, owners can fund £60m of losses over a 3 year period as long as injected as cash. Wages will be maxed at 90% of turnover reducing by 5% a season over 4 seasons to 70%.

All of the players we have been linked to so far are paid around £5k a week and signing them is comfortable within our wage budget of up to £15k. Our transfer budget does seem to be £9m or thereabouts and we can spend on 4 year deals so long as they don't break the wage budget and there is a logic of pushing through the deal for Styles, Brannagan and Bowler but it is difficult.

Now in regard to Davis he was affordable for a 12 month loan but difficult for a 4 year deal at our turnover levels.

With regard to BBD with his 12 month extension and being between 2 new regulations it doesn't make any difference to our FFP regulations if we sell him this summer or he leaves for free next May.

So the Venkys could put actual cash into the club rather than as shares (a loan)?

That would indicate that they really may care about their “baby”.

As out of touch as those on the ground at Ewood undoubtably are, they still have a far better handle than 3 billionaires on a different continent who surround themselves with people who slavishly obey. Venky’s do not delegate effectively, and we remain at the mercy of their whims. They never learn and continue to be “badly advised”. It’s their own fault of course, they generally sack anyone who tells them anything they don’t want to hear.

Nailed it with that para imo.

All men are equal. It’s just that some are more equal than others.

No problem, everyone supports the club differently, I’ll support them as I like, criticise when I want but I certainly don’t make decisions on buying a season ticket on the whims of rumours on here.

I make decisions in the context of seeing how the club has changed since I started supporting in 1980, season ticket since 1983 - I was also one of the mugs that bought a season ticket during covid.

I’ve renewed again but I’m not sure how much longer I can put up with this crap and I despise the V’s for making me feel like this.

Posters need to keep in mind its essential the club bring someone in who can get this club promoted to Premiership. I believe that pool of managers, available to us, is extremely small and the vast majority of candidates I'm reading about on here don't fit that bill.

The only person that fits the bill in my opinion is Sean Dyche - We can't afford him and I doubt he'd come here.

    Tough call.

Isn't Dyche in the Sam Allardyce mold though?

Hypothetically speaking would you have peak Allardyce back?

I agree that Dyche would be the best chance of promotion btw.

Your forgetting long term injuries to key players; some awful refereeing that cost us points and some young players in the team that can only get better from the disappointment of missing out in the play offs. Mowbray was partly to blame, but he left Rovers in better shape than when he first took over.

    Here we go again…

    Venkys are to blame.

Mowbray was one of the many symptoms.

Now then, who’s our new manager going to be? Are venkys going to start running the club properly?

It’s the hope that kills you.

it is your good self who is patronising MB and without getting into a bitch fest (again).

To simplify, even the element of our support who are not tech savvy know the season ended and know that ST's are on sale, the mega screen advertised it, everyone knows the new season starts in July because of the world cup and everyone else knows how to get a renewal be it online, over the phone or through a third party. It is NOT a new phenomenon.  Stop being so petty in making an excuse so you can offer criticism. Try being a tad more positive, you will like it, probably enjoy it and it will make your day fly by😀

Well one things for certain, you don’t know much about Marketing.

I feel that it is despicable that nobody at the club has had the good grace to sit down with Mowbray, discuss what went well, what went badly and more importantly on a personal level, say thanks, no thanks, we wish you well...or whatever. It's just shit!

I agree, but isn’t that the job of Waggot, his boss?

And therefore it’s the job of Waggott to go up the chain of command to get the answers required?

If that’s not possible, it’s up to Waggott to make it happen or decide his position is untenable

Let’s not forget that Waggott and Mowbray have been full of praise for the owners throughout their tenure.

Little seems to have changed behind the scenes, despite assurances to the contrary.

  8. Ahhhh, memories of 3 years ago when we were on a high playing well and  just outside the top 6. Big following and everyone buzzing.

Mowbray plays no striker and Dack just in front of the back 4. Alex Neil completely out-thought him. It was apalling stuff. His comments after the game were a disgrace as well. Called it then that he would take as nowhere and needed sacking if we wanted to go up.

Owners clearly dont give a shit. Honour Jacks legacy my arse.
