  1. erm not wanting to jump on the bandwagon here or owt - but on our run of 6 wins that kept us up last season someone came back from injury and went into the team - that was Amo - the game he didnt play in (Spurs away) we lost. Coincidence? possibly - more likely that his passing and distribution (plus free kick - thank you Edwin) made up for any defensive deficiencies he has - he also played brilliantly against Man U at the start of the season until his red card.

But hey your all ungrateful / bigited or blind - we may have better defenders now but Amo has got more positives in his rovers ledger than negatives -but what would i know?

Agree with that. He's simply the typcial MB scapegoat really. Not the best player ever by any means, but we've had worse, and he does have something to offer our squad.

  2. Here in France I somewhat keep an eye on Metz. Despise Paris St Germain and love it when they lose, and Metz, not sure why, historically a great city and just taken an interest.

Here it comes.....as my girlfriend is Italian I have watched the Serie A more over the last little bit, have to say it isn't very interesting, but I knew that before I started watching it every week, there I do keep an eye out for Siena. Small team like ourselves punching above their weight, my sister used to live there and ran into a bunch of them in the bar she worked in.

Chicago Fire in the MLS. While I liked over in the states I had no local MLS teams in either San Francisco or Salt Lake (don't mention the new "real"), so since then have followed Chicago as I was a big Bulls fan since 89/90.

Englang obviously, and also Guyana when I can. Mother's side of the family from there, Jamaica when they are at the World Cup, basically any West Indian team that makes it, and as they were the last ones to gave them a cheer.

  3. I've just been and picked up a ticket from a fellow poster who can't make it smile.gif

So the decision has been taken out of our hands.

As many will know we regularly put people up who use the site to save them from having to travel home the same day or pay for a hotel and its good that we've got something back and people wanted to help us with 2 tickets for the burnley game.

Also we'd not have got tickets if it wasn't for this site so thanks to you all and see you Sunday.

Does that mean you'll put me up for free then? biggrin.gif

    I did vote for you...haha

  4. ohmy.gif I've just voted for you Gav but i don't think it will make much difference. iThink this calls for retribution!

This is the plan: When she leaves 't' go 't' match go straight 't' pub, get smashed. After the game go for a dirty smelly curry, then go back to the pub for a top up. Then about half past 10 put on yer favourite beer goggles, go home & give her what she deserves.

    A SMELLY, DRUNKEN, SLAVERING GIT!

Must be a ladies man.... laugh.gif

  5. Boooo

    This result is unfair.

How about they decide it by being quizzed by the messageboard on Rovers trivia. Highest score gets the ticket?

No point, they could google there way through it!

Should be a chatroom event, both posters at the same PC to avoid any sneaky googling.

Agree with 1864 apart from the Vs day comments, my old man wouldn't speak to me again if I let my lass go before me sad.gif

    Chat room it is then.

Come on...a penalty shoot-out of questions

  6. Rover6, Hughes put MGP in at just the right time, and we are reaping the rewards. If he had been left out longer he would have left the club, if he had been brought in sooner he wasn't playing well. If, and this is a big if, MGP really does love it here and stays for years to come, I think we have a player who could be exciting and build an excellent relationship with the fans. He could be a real crowd pleaser, and that is something we have lacked since Duff, Dunn and Jansen (as a result of the accident) left.

  7. I have to agree with a comment that was made earlier in that Jansen's former glory is his biggest enemy. As soon as he steps onto the field we expect him to be as he was pre-accident, if he doesn't start like that straight away, then we all simply say that he has lost it. I don't think he's been terrible this year, and actually think he has shown signs that he still has much of that talent, but everyone expects him to straight away be what he was, and that will never happen. If we aren't bringing in at least 2 more strikers in the summer then I think he has to be kept. Johnson is still too young, Dickov is getting on and though quite effective, we could do better, Stead and Gallagher lack experience and are too inconsistent at the moment, and Bothroyd, no matter what you think of him, looks like he will be leaving. If we were to have injuries and suspension like we have had this season next term, then we would really be in trouble if we dont have at least as many options as we have at the moment.

  8. MGP for 17 million? Hmm...that would be terrible. biggrin.gif

I'd wait 3 or 4 years before deciding that I wouldn't bite anyone's hand off if they came in with that sort of money, at the moment though I would take it. Having said that, what makes me like him the most isn't the quality of his play, more just how he behaves. He seems to care and enjoy it, you can really tell it when he celebrates and goes to the crowd, very few of our players at the moment seem to have that in them.

  9. Interestingly enough, from watching him the place I think he needs to improve the most is getting good crosses in. He obviously strikes a ball well and has good passing skills so it shouldn't be a problem. If next year we have threats in the box, he will need to beat his man and get the ball in, and the moment he just isn't doing it, though I can understand this as he only has Dickov and Gallagher to aim at.
