  1. Sorry, I'm lazy, though I did find it in the end. Right now I'm actually having trouble logging on. I've registered, but it always says that it's failed, I'm really not sure what's wrong so I may have to register a new team I suppose.

And yes, I've made sure many times that it's the right user name and password.

  2. Ive got to say that if Rovers had been Robbed of a totally legitimate Goal in the last minute of lets say the FA Cup quarter Final and then Lost on sudden death penalties I would have felt 100 times worse this morning than I do now.

After the game last night I was gutted but for me the feeling soon passed.

However I know in my heart that if it was Rovers I would have been thinking about it for weeks and be sat here at my desk feeling sick to the bone.

That was my point basically, well said

  3. I really got behind England in Euro 2004, but there is no doubt that I love Rovers more. This would have been hard to tell if anyone had been watching me last night compared to any Rovers match. The difference for me though came after the match had finished. England lost, I accepted it, and turned my attention to other things, of course it hurt, but I don't really mind all that much. This isn't like a Rovers game, where I am down for a week if they simply lose a League Cup match while fielding their reserves against Brighton.

  4. T1MJ I was typing up something very long looking into manegerial changes at the two clubs, lack of any concrete evidence to support the theory, and the player being somewhat unavaiable for lengthy negotiations as a result of Euro 2004 making your story sound totally untrue...however I just can't be bothered, and am inclined to simply say that its total crap. Either give us all the information you know and be done with it, or admit that you are just making this up because you have nothing better to do and pi$$ing around

  5. Selling Duff was very good business for Rovers

    Can't agree there Paul.

We sell Dunn and Duff for £22.5m.

The money comes in over the life of the contracts, say 4 years, at £5.5m per year.

We purchase Gresko, Amoruso, Reid, Emerton, and Ferguson for £14m on similar terms costing £3.5m per year.

In the meantime we finish 9 places down the Premiership table losing £4.5m.

Net loss over the year = £2.5m huh.gif

In addition to that we will be paying considerably more out in wages for the five new players than for Dunn ansd Duff.

    Possibly an extra £40kp.w.?

Loss over the year now = £4.5m huh.gifhuh.gif

There's no way of knowing that had we had Duff in the team, a player who has been injured for much of this season, we would have done any better. It was sad to see him go, but when will people accept that we did the best we could to keep him but in the end money talks, he's gone, so lets get on with what we have now. We have some good players at the moment and lots of good young talent so lets just look forward to the upcoming season.

  6. Well I think anyone who says that Italy stuck to very defensive play other than in the second half against Bulgaria is ignorant and spends too much time listening to football pundits and throwing out the old clichés.

They were aggressive against Sweden for an hour, were silly to become defensive after that, but they certainly aren't the only team to have made that mistake. The Denmark game they had their chances, great saves by Sorensen and poor finishing meant that they didn't score, and against Bulgaria they were careful and then threw everything they had at the Bulgarians.

Italy were far from wonderful, but I think those of you who say "oh defensive Italy", "boring football", "good to see that style of play gone" are just regurgitating the sort of crap you hear on ITV and other such channels. They haven't scored many goals, that doesn't mean that they are only interested in playing defensive football.

  7. My point is, in a tournament like this, i would love to see the best players playing the best football. Italy have deservedly gone out, though I do feel that they were a bit unfortunate, however it would have been nice had they played the way that they can and gone through, I would have liked this more than seeing a good Sweden or Danish side.

  8. If you are claiming that my knowledge of the game of football are on the whole ignorant simply because I enjoy watching the "big" teams play against each other than I think you are making a rather sweeping statement. I'm sorry that the prospect of playing Sweden doesn't do the same things for me as possibly playing Italy or Spain.
