Chelsea might because of his links with Mourinho, but then again he probably isn't a big enough name, they could do better as money is no problem and again I'm not sure if he fits into how they play. Liverpool won't, they'll have money and they'll go for someone Spanish, they have probably also had enough of transfer dealings with us. That only leaves Arsenal and to be quite honest they don't need him and he doesn't have the pace required to really fit into their system. Any team apart from them would love to have him, but I'm not sure why he would leave us to go to anyone but the top 4 (or if they could afford him if he doesn't have a clause in his contract).

I remember when he signed Friedel talking him up as one of the best free kick takers he had ever faced and that he could get Beckhamesque movement on the ball, but he never seems to take them for us.

I don't think that any player should play a different position for his country from what he plays at club level. Also, Barry's performances have been hyped up and to be honest Neville has been the better player. Barry benefits from the extra attention given to Aston Villa this season and from the fact that he scores more goals.

He went to West Ham because they could, he wasn't thinking about us at all in doing so. If he had cared enough about us to change his career for us then he would have stayed, simple as. Liverpool offering him 30k a week seems to be totally in line with how much they pay their players (not far off what they pay Bellamy and who is the bigger, younger and better player out of the two?). I don't blame Neill for doing what he has done, but don't try and not see it how it is.

I was actually surprised over Christmas to talk to some United fans who didn't even consider Hughes to be in the running. They thought he wasn't nearly a big enough name and that when Ferguson goes that it is most likely that a foreign manager will be brought in.

We gave him permission to talk to West Ham. The clubs are in negotiations and believe that an agreement will be reached, they simply haven't got there yet.
