I was impressed by Benni. He's a bit of a sulk, but he put in some effort and even though he has 5 goals ruled out for offside in the past two games I still think it is impressive that he has taken 6 out of 6. At times he is being a bit lazy, at times it is because he is gambling and it hasn't quite worked out, but I'm not worried about it. Once again I have to ask why we couldn't play the stuff we did in the second in the first, would have been a stroll in the park. At least this time we can put it down to the formation, please don't go back to 4-5-1 Hughes, even with Benni out for the next game.

At least this should mean that we are seen as a better tie than Newcastle for TV.
-
Hopefully Lens will win that.
-
I'm hoping for Bordeaux v Osasuna for our meeting in the last 16.

Middle west.

Not the side they once were, but the draw could have been easier. Having said that, could this possibly be the perfect tie? Big game but a beatable team.
-
Should find out a little after the draw is made and the sides have sorted out the details. Possibly later today, but if not within the next couple of days.

It won't let me register, says that I cannot register from a proxy.

Wouldn't dream of missing it and I will be belting it out with the best of them. Won't go if it is Tel Aviv or Russia, but I'll try to make it to anywhere else, really hope I can get to a UEFA Cup away leg this year.

Neill on his day is a much better right back than Finnan on his day, but the problem is that Neill is far more prone to making costly mistakes (usually either a horrible challenge or being out of position) and because of this may find it more difficult to keep a place down at Liverpool. Also, if he has any intention of breaking through as a centre half then Liverpool certainly isn't the place for him. I'm a big Neill fan and I'm sure that wherever he goes he will be a success, but I do wish players would sometimes take a step back and realise that in sports it is often far wiser to stay where you are wanted and established then to move to pastures new and find that it wasn't quite what you thought. Unfortunately few listen to that kind of thing and it is only made worse by the fact that very few of them are willing to admit to the fact they they were wrong and so end up simply ending their career by moving from one club to the other. -

I would think that Roberts would have been first choice had it not been for his injuries. He was in the team at first and then suffered a small injury before coming back, having lost his place to Nonda (who started quite well) and then suffered a more serious injury. I don't think Hughes would have spent the money that he did on a player who he thought was only going to be a substitute. -
I'd rather have a player on the pitch who was just playing out his contract then one in the physio's room who loves us to bits. If all that mattered was love for a club then most supporters would make fantastic footballers.
-
Totally agree theno (shudder). We are in no position to judge and whilst the likes of Savage, Friedel and even Ooijer all appear to be good candidates I think that we have to trust the judgement of Hughes and his staff.
-
I hope we can avoid the big teams the entire time and go on to lift the trophy. I have no time for the thoughts of "let us get a big team so that we can go out in a good tie and have one last fling in Europe". We are a good team and capable of beating any side in this tournament, I don't care who we get I won't be happy when we are knocked out.

So what makes Neill different? I find it laughable that you consider Neill's poor performance to be down to the fact that he doesn't want to sign a new contract, but at the same time you feel it is perfectly understandable that the rest of the team played poorly because of the number of changes made to the side. I think the term "double standards" was invented for you. -
You're right, but that trouble was the war with Lebanon I believe, unlikely to affect any game that we might have.
-
I think he quite obviously does.
-
Lens or Zulte Waregem hopefully, would make life easier for me and neither should pose too many problems for us, particularly Zulte Waregem.

At least he has an excuse, what about the rest of the team? -

Millan is a good one for the future. Vela from Arsenal is outstanding if you can get him (4-6mish at the start). -
Probably because Jim hopes that this isn't another opportunity for the right to use something like this as a reason why we shouldn't have immigrants and why muslims are evil. The likes of yourself and AESF will have a field day if he turns out to be a muslim, if he is a white man from Ipswich then it will simply be written off as one psycho who doesn't reflect the entire society.

Calm down there, we'll just have to wait and see if it happens. You have to understand that this is quite a popular story, but it also has several interesting details that seem a little unbelievable. Everyone has sources on this site, unless you can produce evidence then a good number of people will doubt it.

This is so sad. Anyone who won't go to a Rovers game while Neill is still playing is looking for an easy way out of going to games in my opinion. It isn't great that he wants to leave, but I don't think his performances have suffered. Like the rest of the team he hasn't played well recently, but he's been no worse than anyone else. People are specifically targetting certain players (Neill, Benni, MGP and Nonda) and essentially blaming them for the poor performance of the entire team. Grow up folks, I actually found what he did last night reasonably funny and I can understand why he did it.

I'd say Derbyshire's chance was better, Bentley went closer to scoring though, good save. -

There is really. PSG are average, we have already seen Feyenoord are beatable and Fenerbahçe have lost to an English side already.
