You must be watching different matches to me!
In the games I've seen, Chapman always looks like he can make something happen which is more than can be said for most of our other outfield players.
Don't think Rankin Costello will make it. At 20, I'd expect him to have far more of an impact on a game, even at U23 level; IMO, a 'Joe Average' whose level is probably League 1 at best.
Hilton doesn't convince me. Keepers mature with age and, IMO, he's a lot of maturing to do - would get eaten alive at 1st team level. Think he needs loaning out to a League 2 club to see if he sinks or swims - I think he'll sink.
Nowt like being positive Mr Mercer, but your probably right

129 pages of nothing really no signings in sight just thoughts, ba humbug

Well we will screw it up on penalties for sure

Lets go back to february this year, Mowbray stated this defence is terrible new defenders are coming they know their days are numbered, fast forward to today same defence same crap defending, if i was the chap who reports for the LT i would be asking Mowbray if he actually knows what a disaster he made of today, 8500 season ticket holders 14,185 on the ground, okay about 1k from Charlton, but 3k turned up on the day, keep that performance and team selection up and i bet even ST holders wont bother. I am so so Pissed with Mowbray and his lack of defensive capabilities.

Also think Smallwood is next in line. Hopeful we will try and get Reed back before deadline.
Reed has already said he dosent want to come back on loan because its too far from home

Irrelevant. The best new signings go straight in - because they're very good players. Our new boy clearly isn't in that category.
Or our esteemed manager hasn't the balls to play him straight away

Well we had the SAS now we have team GB --- Gallagher and Brereton shoot us to the promised land.

Listening to Pep and the city fans talk about this kid, it sounds like this is a big year for him and if succesfull could put him on the fringes of the city first team squad
Explains why the lad may be keen to ensure its the right move for him and also means we will get a really hungry player who will be busting to impress and take the next step.
I thought the reason he has not signed yet was purley down to match time, he wants to start every match if fit, Mowbray probably said you will have to earn your place, so he keeps his old guard happy. In my view if you are on the fringes of playing first team for man city he should be more than capable of starting for us. Bauer probably got the same message from Mowbray as well.

And he’s objectively a downgrade on Raya.
In your opinion, just give a bloke a chance eh, dammed before he signs and anyway may not be him, like the poster said the GK we sign some will like some will not, oh if this thread was here when Souness signed that old chap what was his name ahh yes Friedel.

Very short sighted in today's market though; you only have to look at the profit the Bees have made on Konsa in one season. Full back prices are also astronomical these days too. It's like the V's are still stuck in the 90s.
The "v"s aren't buying the players Mowbray is apparently

Doubt that very much as it means you don't get the best outta Dack
I think it was a joke from the England film cant remember the title, but a funny film all the same. someone will enlighten us.

Chapman, Rothwell and Brereton in their cumulative 3 years at the club have contributed next to nothing. Cant really go any further than that at this point.
How much do you reckon Brereton is getting paid? Bearing in mind his contract at Forest, England youth appearances and substantial transfer fee. Reckon he'll be cheap? He needs a new agent if he isn't one of our bigger earners.
Anyways, we aren't going to agree. You seem to think everything is hunky dory and all going to plan and I think it's a shambles.
They can only contribute if the manager plays them

Who’s called who a name?
‘Thin skin?’ ‘Trump’ I don’t rise to the personal stuff you like stirring up with posters like blueboy, so don’t bother.
Good, I’m glad you think that it was a flawed policy, and thankfully Waggott/Mowbray/owners or a combination do too.
Gentlemen, Just a thought, plan A,B,C or D, etc, none of us really know what the manger wanted or wants, any of you played poker, maybe that's what Mowbray is doing, trying to get the better player but sometimes he is out pokered by money he thinks can be better served somewhere else on a different position, (waiting for sarcasm)

well this transfer thread seems to be all about how shite Mowbray is, thats all i have to say for the time being.

Gallagher might end up on the wing as well tbf.
So downing a waste of a wage again god knows what goes through Mowbrays mind, defence man defence

Didn't realise the Gallagher link was being reported by SSN has to be sonething in it.
I would be seriously pissed if we signed Gallagher, Brereton should be given the opportunity to play in the position he is accustomed to not the bloody wing, if Mowbray is contemplating this transfer then i am definitely losing faith in the guy.

Without knowing Downing’s wages hard for me to feel much either way. If he’s on big money that’s a poor signing if on peanuts it’s average.
I suspect we’re panicking and he’s a body. Hope I’m wrong
With, is it 6 or 7 weeks to go, i don't think it's a panic signing, or as Dad's army would say Don't panic don't panic. ?

210 pages of Quotes, and counting, we have theories, speculation, Rants, and Tony's yes we will sign players to come straight in the team to well maybe a few free's, still no signings, hell of a way to sell season tickets Tony

Nailed it.
I'd guess no one at the club wants us to get into the top 6, Mowbray certainly isn't ambitious. Or Waggott. And our dreadful owners certainly wouldn't want the guaranteed payday of the PL either. No ambition anywhere. I guess getting promoted out of League 1 last year must have been a mistake. And being 3 points of play-offs with 1/3 of the season left. Someone needs to remind them all of their lack of ambition.
And you'd obviously know our total budget because you work at the club?
Nailed. It.
Utter tripe talking about no ambition there i nailed it.

Looks like Bolton have got away with it yet again at the 11:59 mins and 59 second hr mark, surely only a matter of time. (no pun intended) ?

He may as well been on the bench instead of Williams or Nuttall
My worry is 3 games in and he is injured again, missed the last 3 games of last season as well, no good if he plays two and misses three whats his injury now, same as last time if so thats gonna be a problem.

£7mil with add ons...hilarious. Do WBA think we are Newcastle?
Now 2 years ago, with a player 'recovering from a knock' taking longer than expected, I'd have been very nervous!
Did i not read Mowbray saying in the LET that we have had severals bids in the region of 6/7 million for several players but the clubs would not sell, why would we then try to cash in on say 10m for Bradley, dosent make sense the sun just making stories up.

So how did Brereton do when he came on, sounds like he made an impact according to mowbray and others, i missed the game by being in Newcastle on business.
