I am so, so sick of this lazy argument. Stop running down your own club. The only way these clubs are comparable to us is they are based in what was Lancashire.
We are Blackburn Rovers, not Bury! We have a glorious history, we are more successful, we have a bigger fanbase...
We could be the next Leicester, if we had remotely competent owners.
Whoa there my friend I have NEVER and NEVER will run down my club who i have suppoerted some 55years. I was refering to a previous post and what could happen if the Venkys pulled the plug.

No, of course not. However, if local owners were in charge who I thought genuinely cared about the club, then I’d probably give them the benefit of the doubt that this was a necessary move to improve the club. If Venkys, multi-billionaires btw, genuinely cared about our club then why go down this route?
Plus, there were agreements in place when they bought the club that they would not go down this route. That begs another question: how much do they even know about this? I suspect they have told Waggot that we need to cut costs and raise cash, he’s then come up with this as the best way of achieving that objective.
I actually don’t think this will come off anyway.
Regarding agreements, well they were broke almost immediatley, and i agree with you in that probably the Venkys havent been told of this yet, Waggott out, Mowbray out.

I feel like I have a right to be upset when my character is so aggressively attacked. But I think we'll leave that there given that the admins have dealt with the issue and made comment.
Keep calm Joe, some posters just want to have their opinion like me, take replies with a pinch of salt no matter how infuriation or deemed personel, be a better day tomorrow.

In response to your last sentence: the problem is, do Venkys’s really have the clubs best interest at heart? Of course not. Local owners perhaps would have. That’s the difference
So would you be happy if Local owners want to do the same, and i suspect if Venkys ever sold there would be much more assets stripped than you could imagine.

‘Legacy’ isn’t just reminiscing about the good old days. It’s the tangible facilities, that they are now flogging off for housing.
If you choose to believe we’ll have facilities that will be 2021 industry leading, good for you, but I don’t.
Yes, if locals flogged half of Brockhall off, I’d still be furious. Just as I am more upset with the Walker family than anyone that’s come along since.
Well i agree, the walker family in my mind are the main culprits in all this mess since Venkys took over, once Jack had passed all they wanted was his money, had thay waited until the end of that season they would have been cash rich with the new PL deal that happend the season after.

Ok folks - just had to issue some bans, but I won’t hide the posts as it removes so much context.
To be clear, @JoeH runs a small, local business and opts to sponsor the club. That is a good deed. We will accept questions to Joe on this relationship - and whether his opinion is changed because of it.
We will not, under any circumstances, accept people attacking Joe because he sponsors the club. If you continue with personal attacks - at anybody - the moderators will issue bans.
Well said

So it's a downgrade then to save money and rinse a few quid ?
Is it desperately needed, will we make the play offs and promotion on the back of it ?
What happens if we REALLY need money in years to come when Vs have turned the taps off or flown the nest ? What gets sold then ?
You should know, be like Bolton and Wigan, and god forbid Bury.

If it wasn’t for Jack we wouldn’t have Brockhall, at all. Or the fantastic facilities at Ewood Park, or a Cat 1 Academy.
’Don’t buy this legacy stuff’. I mean, honestly.
I really dont understand some of the logic on here, the Venkys have made our academy CAT 1 and put money in to keep it that way, name me local sides in our area in our division that do the same, if alalgamation of both centres in new state of the art buildings providing permission is granted then why is that not a good thing. We all know what jack built and are forever grateful, but time moves on, Would people on here have the same attitude if local owners had the same thought process.

Not sure if there is even any point changing the Manager until the end of the season now. We are that far behind we might as well give him till the end of the season.
To do what totally destroy players, because thats whats happening right now.

Root canal treatment anyone.?
Rovers matchday threads are a difficult read but I'm now on board with a change of manager. Treading water with players who are much better than being played ad - hoc.
No direction and worse, not being played in the right positions. Even a plank like me can see that.
I imagine had we had Rhodes and Gestede they wouls also be playing on the wing, then subsituted to make way foe some youngster from the PL.

Looked like he pulled his hamstring or something at the end. Given the amount of injuries we seem to pick up during games it makes Mowbrays comments on the indoor artificial pitch even more baffling.
Train on the pitch, damage it, makes a good excuse for not playing the one touch football bollocks, we only do on occasions (when it dosent matter)

I never swear , I dislike foul language...but this performance is the most fucking dire 90 minutes I have seen in a long time. Shite Mowbray....you are an embarrassment to this club.....thank God the gates are locked
Well i imagine had we been in the ground the crowd would have told Mowrbray to do one weeks ago.

I agree F off Mowbray, and the owners get some balls and get Mowbray out of this club, now going backwards AGAIN

His style of play attracts bookings, simple as that. Travis is probably one of, if not the most important players in that team though and his absence is notable. Of course he's not fully match fit so sloppiness sets in, its fair to say another 90 mins under his belt will benefit him though. Does he get booked too much? Probably, and I fully get your point. But do we ask him to change the way he plays and risk nullifying his effectiveness? No (in my opinion of course).
No PrOblem with your thoughs at all, and i certainly dont want him to change the way he plays, just be a little smarter, hes getting a reputation with the refs

With all due respect, have you seen Trav in previous seasons? He's a little bastard who will pick up a lot of bookings but ultimately a persona we have badly missed!
Back to you with all due respect, 12 months on Travis should be a lot smarter in the way he gets/should not get bookings

Feels great to do that to Luton after their antics. The drop ball happened because their player faked being hit in the head and the ref couldn't risk not stopping play for a head injury. Proper karma that and it makes the victory all the sweeter.
And the ref explained to the luton players more than he needed why the goal stood, after all the ref dropped the ball it was our possesion so no need to pass it back, actually very intellegent play from Holtby.

The issue is he never gets up to speed without playing matches, end of. In Mowbrays eyes the risk is worth it for the reward. Same with Dacky. By mid Feb, both should be fully raring to go barring any unfortunate injuries.
Well that will be great, but in the meantime a booking a game means he wont be in the team being suspended
-
My gripe is Travis, twice he gave the ball away and Luton should have scored, he's nowhere near full fitness and at times today was a liability, subs made all the difference, get the balance right we will win many games.

3 points ugly but a win. No sympathy for Luton, the player wasn’t injured he was playing for time, reap what you sow for cheating, or trying to cheat!
Not to mention the 2 dives to try and get a penalty

Totally appalling performance and pitch...
We look terrible. For what it's worth I would get Brereton on as at least the ball sticks to him. Also Id get Johnson off for Holtby so we actually can pass the ball a bit.
But we look totally physically outfought.
all we do is get the ball and either pass it square or mainly back then a big boot to the wing, lose the ball, get it back and do the same again. Midfield is a joke.

wrong wrong wrong, we had two academy players from other teams as our MAIN centre halves, thats a disgrage, mowbray has had many many transfer windows to sort our defence out, he hasnt thats a disgrace in itself. He is well past his sell by date.
