Fans Friendly Squad

  1. Everything about this club is a total disgrace. Leeds 6 - 0 Soft Cunts
  2. Two decent results on the trott and the teams below us are totally gash. If the soft lads can get another win here then we'll be safe.
  3. If ever a game is shaped by both sides previous match it is this one. Can Rovers carry on defending well, pressing expertly and scoring freely? In all fairness, the games before Sunderland suggested the defending and pressing were coming back to scratch. Southampton on the other hand were controlling their game at Ipswich and still contrived to lose so will come to Ewood with a decent backing and win at all costs requirement if automatic promotion hopes aren't going to be extinguished. Southampton are excellent going forward but their defence is sloppy and vulnerable so we have a chance of making it back to back wins. Welcome back to Adam Armstrong and Joe Rothwell.
  4. Well I suppose somebody has to start the thread 😄. Another huge game in our relegation scrap against a Sunderland team whose season is pretty much over. I looked at their team yesterday and noticed that Jack Clarke is doubtful and Patrick Roberts is coming back from a hamstring injury. In the recent past those two have been a real thorn in our side and if they don't play it gives us a better chance of getting a result. I guess the big question is how Eustace approaches this game. My gut feeling is that it will essentially be the same side and shape as Good Friday with perhaps Gallagher coming in. I'm reasonably confident that we can keep a clean sheet as Sunderland have struggled to score this season. It's scoring that worries me as we are far too reliant on Szmodics and we have only scored seven goals in the nine games since Eustace came in (I'm not giving him the Stoke game). Despite that I just have a feeling we can nick this. We have played well in the last two league matches which gives me hope. For anybody who is driving up the A59 is closed over Blubberhouses and diversions are in place. However these diversions added half an hour to our journey time to Middlesbrough so please factor this in along with the usual Easter Monday traffic.
  5. Is anyone going to this game? How would everyone set up for this game and what would be team selection? I would either set up in 3-5-2 or 4-4-1-1. My team would be this for 3-5-2 Pears O'Riordan Hyam Wharton Brittain Ayari Tronstad Buckley Hedges Gallagher Szmodics My team would be this for 4-4-1-1 Pears Brittain Hyam Wharton Pickering Dolan Tronstad Ayari Hedges Szmodics Gallagher
  6. Well the new gaffer isn't concerned with winning so the question is will we draw or lose? My prediction at this stage of the season is we will be relegated this year and relegated the next. All hail our chicken overlords and the marvellous things they have done for this club.
  7. After the Lord Mayor's Show? Will John Eustace be proven a genius giving his two complete midfields 60 minutes each against Newcastle affirming and inspiring them or will all the players be totally drained physically or emotionally? This is not quite a must not lose but it is an opportunity to move sharpish towards the 50 points total. We don't want to be regretting a rubbish loss when the following results come in: Millwall v Watford Rotherham v Sheffield Wednesday Stoke v Middlesbrough Brum and Plymouth are entertaining Southampton and Ipswich while QPR go to Leicester- stranger things have happened than those three strugglers winning.. So fingers crossed for a second South Wales clean sheet. A more inspired performance than Cardiff would be a greatly appreciated bonus. Swansea are a bit of a nothing team but they can be dangerous and produce the goods as we know all too well from their visit to Ewood in October. Timely revenge required.
  8. Newcastle are going to be hurting. We don't need another midweek game at the moment. We have a poor record of Tuesday night matches Our squad is desperately thin. Suggestions of the lineup?
  9. Norwich are a team playing well at the moment. In their last 4, they've won 3 and drawn 1, scoring 12 goals. Josh Sargent is in great form, having scored 5 of those 12. They're looking like serious play-off contenders - currently sitting in 8th place, only 3 points away from 6th. Can't say i'm looking forward to this one, to be honest! Would snatch your hand off for a draw.
  10. Cardiff away this time round and the lovely people at the football league have once again given so much consideration for the fans and made this a midweek game. What will be served up for us this time round? Will we actually try and play football or will we just boot the ball as far up the pitch as possible. Venkys out.
  11. Well the new manager bounce didn't last long. Up next is Nob End. A team many of us never even gave a second thought about until the Raos and Desais darkened our door. Hopefully Eustace can get a more cohesive performance out of the lads and we pick up the three points. He's got his work cut out for him as our squad is really quite pitiful. Venkys out. Nothing else matters.
  12. My Grandma and Grandad were from Stoke originally. Fuck me am I glad they decided to move up to the heartland of the empire, Blackburn, Lancashire. I reckon this is where JDT will tirn it around, unless of course he hasn't walked already in which case fair play to him. Rovers 3 - 0 Stoke
  13. New head coach John Eustace takes control of Rovers for the first time against the club he was unfairly dismissed from earlier in the season. Going for a new manager bounce win here. More important than anything is that we continue to hold the owners feet to the fire for what they've done to this club. I for one will never forget and never forgive them. Venkys out. COYB
  14. Hey all newb, well I've been on here before many, many moons ago. I live in Blackburn but don't get to go much these days coz of work but so watch when I can. Good luck to the blues today and everyone going have a good'un
  15. Rovers take on the Superhoops in what some say is a relegation six-pointer…young English midfielder sold to a club down south… Have your say on our prospects right here…
  16. Righty-ho… Ewood v Hollywood - here we go….play nicely Wrexham visitors 😉 Last time I was at the Racecourse, this guy scored the winner…
  17. Well well well, what a week. What will we see this weekend then? Can Rovers turn it around or just give up again? Will we see some sort of upheaval from the stands at the owners that have decimated this club over the last 13 years and counting or will there just be a crowd of happy clappers just happy to watch a bunch of young boys run around in blue and white shirts? What a fucking joke this club has become. Venkys out RTID.
  18. A few days before an important Championship match and no match thread so I thought I'd start one. The Hawthorns has been a decent ground for us in recent years with a mixed bag of results. We will be looking for our first double of the season having beaten them at Ewood of in the first game of the season. With three wins, two draws and a defeat in their last six games it will be a real test although goalscoring has been a problem for them. They will be missing arguably their most creative player in Diangana who is away with DR Congo in the ACN. Maja and Phillips are also out but Dike made a goalscoring return from injury recently and will be a real threat. Hopefully at least one of our injured players can return to strengthen us.
  19. Our home fixture against Watford on December 23rd will see the second Fan Takeover day. Following on from the success of the pre season fixture against Girona a number of supporter groups/organisations will be working with the club to bring you a Blue and White Christmas. We think that with the great value of the ticket offering we can help attract a bumper crowd and that Rovers fans from far and wide will come and cheer the team on. We hope those supporters who will be back in Lancashire for the festive period will come along, or why not gift a ticket as an early Christmas present to a friend or family member who hasn’t been to Ewood in a while? We’d like to see everyone in their colours, and the theme of the day is Blue and White Christmas. We Are The Rovers will be unveiling some new crowd banners we hope will become a fixture at home and away games going forward - please bring your banners and flags and get behind the boys! As well as the usual match day offerings there will be festive food and drink choices and offers on the concourse. We will be joined by other fan groups, including our good friends at BRFCS and 4,000 holes, Her Game Too, Proud Rovers and Rovers SAS in the fanzone prior to the game. We’ll have some festive gifts to give away and some activities planned. We’ll also be selling gift membership packs for anyone in need of a last minute present for the discerning Rovers fan. There’ll be plenty of updates between now and then so keep your eyes peeled here and on our new look website for that, as well as some exclusive fan driven content from BRFCS, the 4000 Holes podcast and Rovers Chat in the build up.
  20. Here we go again, the 2024 F.A. Cup. As the club have once again stuck two fingers up in the face of long standing loyal fans its looking like there may be more Cambridge fans there than Rovers. We should win this but who knows, honestly do we really care? Hopefully we steamroll this lot and get a generous draw in the next round. Would be nice to reach the quarters or semis. Venkys out ra ra ra
  21. Channelling my inner Chaddy I’m going for a 3-1 win. My team would be: Leo Travis. Carter. Hill. Pickering Tronstad. Wharton Ennis Sammie Siggy Telalovic
  22. I would make 4 changes for this game. Wahlstedt Hill Carter Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad Garrett Szmodics Sigurdsson Telalovic
  23. Boxing Day…a sell out away crowd…can Rovers turn around the current form ? Add your thoughts and opinions here…⚪️🔵
  24. With the squad paper thin and Southampton winning again, my head says we will lose but after another home win following a raft of away wins my heart says we will continue with our incredible away form.. 2-3 rovers. Come on you blues!
  25. Hello from a Bristol City fan in peace. Ahead of our forthcoming game I’m putting together the opening post for our forum’s (One Team in Bristol, https://www.otib.co.uk/?_fromLogin=1) match thread, which will be posted the day before the match. I would like to include some perspectives from your fans so if anybody would like to share info please do, anything would be appreciated, fans thoughts about the game, players who have represented both clubs, tales from when we’ve met previously, a fans view on your season, pubs for away fans, etc. Look forward to receiving info and to a great game.
