philipl Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Works OK for me. Annan said his spell at Blackburn went well and he was watched today by the Rovers who wanted to watch him play. He said he might train with Arsenal but basically he will play for whoever takes him to the Premier League. He does look little though- very slight build.
BiggusLaddus Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 he speak english hmm. i dont get it. it works for me, and im on a mac Works for me with Firefox too For the benefit of those who can't get it to work, he said that things went very well on his trial and Rovers said some positive things to his agent. He said that we were there watching him and that if we still like him then he hopes we will make a bid for him. He also said that he might be going to Arsenal for a trial, and at the end said that he would be happy to sign for either us or Arsenal.
hawkiiz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 I've got it working now it seems like he doesn't mind who he plays for he just wants to come to england. Do you think that it is more likely he'll come to rovers or arsenal. considering arsenal will not be able to get him on trial, and cannot give him first team football, he will probably be a rover if ince go ahead and make a bid. right now there is no bid. if it was, stabæk would be informed as they want to get him. it is wide open right now.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 All in all, sounds like hope may not yet be gone. Get him before Wenger does. I'm sure if we get him first Wenger will claim he was "too violent anyway".
novella Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 sorry if this sounds daft...but was that interview definatly conducted today?
Bobby G Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Hmm if we move first, I think he will join us. All depends on what the scout saw tonight. At that time Arsenal would have to bid too without him training and I dont think they will be desperate to sign someone unless they are sure and even if they are, would he choose them over us, bench warming or possibly starting...
DingleBaiter Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Lars looks a bit rough doesn't he? Any chance of a translation for what he's saying? See what they mean about him being a bit slight; nothing a few pies won't sort out though. Does remind me of someone though
S15 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 slip toe, just mucking around, should not take it so personally! Always have said that I never liked Ince etc, but will back him as manager of BRFC. Of course give everyone a chance, but just slightly concerned at some of things we have been hearing. It is has been a tough summer with losing a decent manager and also some of our best players, therefore, there is always going to be a 'come down' effect. I don't take the comments personally. I just get bored with reading the same ones again and again and again and again and again and agai..........
hawkiiz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 sorry if this sounds daft...but was that interview definatly conducted today? that is probably the only thing 100% certain in this he played a game tonight, and afterwards they had a chat with him. just like last week when i confirmed that he was coming on trial untill friday.
rovers1995 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 How do you know that he won't go on trial at Arsenal it sounded like he was going to
hawkiiz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 svein mathisen, his boss. have said that he cant. all interrested parties were invited to come here and look. nicko will say different though..
Hughesy Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Was that Annan on the interview or a school boy? He looks tiny! Anyway hopefully Rovers were there - hope so, any ideas if they were?
hawkiiz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Lars looks a bit rough doesn't he? Any chance of a translation for what he's saying? See what they mean about him being a bit slight; nothing a few pies won't sort out though. Does remind me of someone though basically that he cant compete with premiership clubs, but if no club bid for him, then stabæk will try to sign him permanently. it is a matter between them and start though. Anyway hopefully Rovers were there - hope so, any ideas if they were? no idea what so ever. but its weird if they were not - telling his agent that they want another look and all that.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Looking at that video, he needs to fill up a bit. A job for our new vice captain. Education of pies.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Just a thought before I go off on other busines until later... Is there anyone here who has seen BOTH Andrews and Annan in action and can honestly say which one is better? There is ONE guy who has. He is called Paul Ince. Let him make the call. Havn't seen Annan live, just on my TV screen... seen Andrews live a few times... he was never any good at Hull, but to be fair he was being restircted to the "sit in front of the back 4" role, as nobody else could do the job, as Ian Ashbee was injured. The general chat about Andrews to Rovers on Hull City sites is about a 70/30 split in opinion between... "Ince must be crazy" (70)/(30) "Maybe we never got to see the real Andrews?"
Oklahoma Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Atletico Madrid want to sell Maniche and Seitaridis. This would solve 2 problems Rovers have currently, CM and RB. We can afford them. Should Ince try to sign them?
hawkiiz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 why annan will not go to arsenal on trial.. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...tl=en&tl=en what it says is a bit funny, so here is a more readable version: After a trial in Blackburn Anthony Annan is now back with Stabæk. -- We have asked interested clubs to see Annan in the game for Stabæk, rather than invite him on trial, "says sports and mediadirector Svein Mathisen. Among the clubs who have received this message is Arsenal, who have shown interest in the midfielder. Annan has this season been rented from Start to Stabæk, originally the end of July, but the lease is extended and is now out 31. august. It is the same date as the transfer window closes.
novella Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 at the end of the day if ince does sign andrews and he gets found out. ince will have to suck up his pride and drop him.....simple as that.
Ewood and I Would Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Well whatever happens that interview certainly blows nicko's theory of him going off in a huff. But I'm guessing his next update he'll say "he's had a change of heart" or some other get out of jail free card. why annan will not go to arsenal on trial.. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...tl=en&tl=en what it says is a bit funny, so here is a more readable version: After a trial in Blackburn Anthony Annan is now back with Stabæk. -- We have asked interested clubs to see Annan in the game for Stabæk, rather than invite him on trial, "says sports and mediadirector Svein Mathisen. Bobby G Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Waiting for nicko to come back with an update...Its getting close to 2 AM where I am and Im hoping there is some good news in there as I have an early meeting in the morning too...
VillaSimon Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Waiting for nicko to come back with an update...Its getting close to 2 AM where I am and Im hoping there is some good news in there as I have an early meeting in the morning too... Did'nt you hear? Nicko has had to go out, so no update tonight only joking mate Nicko, Nicko, Nicko - cult hero
Veevs Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Boy this silly season is driving me mad.. One minute I like him the next I cant stand him.. arg.. maybe I am just falling foul of so much negative news to date (even if most was anticipated).. Really hoping for some good news tonight.. Annan.. That interview after the game definitly sounded like we where still in the hunt.. his comment of a trial with arsenal seemed quite downbeat... and his english was pretty good.. he played well in the game.. and he mentioned us a few times hmmmm although he did basically give a come and get me message to English clubs and all interested parties have been informed (So ManC, Rovers, Arse, Bolton, Chelsea and Portsmouth may of all had scouts there). So Nicko.. you have not mentioned any right sided midfielders.. do you know if (even if you dont name them) any have actually been looked at very closely.. Emerton is ok there but I would love to see some more pace and a little flair out there on the wing (Yes I know Emerton is quick but he lacks acceleration or confidence IMO)?
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 at the end of the day if ince does sign andrews and he gets found out. ince will have to suck up his pride and drop him.....simple as that. I would agree with you if : a. Rovers had money to waste b. Ince had a reputation for pulling off unlikely transfers For me the reality - even if Hughes said he was after Andrews I would have severe doubts. The reality is that the Div 2 player of the year was on the transfer list for a number of weeks - and nobody else bid for him. Which means he is either over priced or not that good (possibly a mixture of the two).
