In BRFCS Podcast 26, Wen Y Hu interviews Member of Parliament for Hyndburn Mr Graham Jones regarding his speech in Parliament on the Venky's ownership of Blackburn Rovers on Thursday, 9 February. Mr Jones made his statement in a Culture, Media and Sport committee debate on a select committee's report on football governance in Westminster Hall.

In the podcast, Mr Jones discusses the position and the significance of the parliamentary debate on football governance, the details of his contribution to that debate and also the implications of the debate for the club and its owners Venky's.

Mr. Graham Jones MP made a statement during his speech to the effect that Jerome Anderson had allegedly been acting in a a managerial and decision-making capacity at the Club prior to, during, and after the takeover of the Club by Venkys. The direct nature of his comments and quoting of Premier League regulations suggests that this should solicit a specific response from the Premier League to either satisfy this very serious and valid accusation, or to confirm that there will be an investigation into it. Has the MP from Hyndburn sought out or will he be seeking out any response to this particular point?

Fascinating. Good to see that the issues are being ventilated in high places, although disappointing to hear that government is no different that anyone else and that Graham found that most MPs believe the papers, and that Kean is hard done by and the fans are the problem.

Also disappointing that government appears unlikely to legislate, instead pushing for a voluntary governance code by the FA PL (and presumably the rest of the league). As Graham himself pointed out, the likelihood of the FA PL coming up with a stringent governance code on foreign ownership is pretty remote, seeing as they will have to get the agreement of all the current owners to be tougher on themselves.

Standing round of applause from me for Graham though for putting it out there.

Thanks for the podcast guys.

Excellent podcast and interview with Graham Jones MP.

Absolutely delighted that Mr Jones hammered the point about the Jerome Anderson cook up of the media and the abysmal performance by Sky Sports News in giving him a free hit against Rovers and the fans.

No, this week's podcast will be uploaded shortly. It will be a two parter, the first featuring Wayne Wild, PhilipL and Dan, (uploaded today) the second featuring Kamy and Bobby G (uploaded tomorrow)

Not as of yet - The Graham Jones-> Dan and Wayne -> Kamy and Bobby in 9 days of Podcasts has been hard to arrange. We still have Graham's podcast, and he stated at the end of Podcast 26 he would love to come on again. I wouldn't rule it out.
