Eventually they will paint it as the club wanting to explore alternatives, get a better deal elsewhere for the club and fans, get a better range/design and try and sell more gear. But we know that isn't the ambition here. We are in a race to the bottom. Example - I wanted to buy a winter trench coat for the cold weather. None to be had in the shop. We aren't doing them. Nor rain coats. Infact aside from the kits themselves all we are selling of Macrons is a tracksuit bottoms/top and shirt. An extremely limited range. Even Ismael and the coaching staff are wearing coats from previous seasons. So I suspect we are already at the bottom end of what Macron are supplying and have no intention of obtaining a better or more comprehensive range or supplier. Cheap and basic will be the way of it. Some catalogue generic rubbish from Nike or Umbro with no thought going into it. When I met with Fraser Reed about kit planning in April 2024 I showed him the Sampdoria section of the Macron website & I said “Do all this stuff…in Rovers colours….” It’s not quite as impressive this season as it was then but still is way beyond what we have ever stocked… https://www.macron.com/en/merchandising/football/clubs/italy/uc-sampdoria.html?p=1 Quote
