  1. Yes well said. Let's get United or Arsenal or Liverpool at home. See if they can get past our back eleven.
  2. He downed tools and couldn't be bothered when we really needed him to step it up and give everything. The best thing about this year is our team spirit. This show pony doesn't fit. He will look cute in red and white. Let him piss off to one of them.
  3. Leonard plays like an out and out striker with his runs in behind and clever movement in the box. It's actually refreshing to see when compared to Gueye and Ohashi. Even his early offsides were due to him playing on the shoulder and trying to steal a yard. I was impressed with his contribution today.
  4. Boro fans very unhappy with Carrick, team selections and the manner of their performance. I genuinely cannot understand the logic of gifting games to your opposition. If we had won 3-0 few could have complained. We barely raised a sweat in defence. We now have the feel good factor going into our next fixture and can look forward to the next round of the draw. What can Boro take from today or look forward to? Eustace starting to build a reputation amongst other teams fans. I sincerely hope we get him a couple of attacking players he believes in.
  5. Me to. Really pleased. Start gifting games away and that mentality will seep into every area of the club. Brave starting eleven and good use of our subs as usual. Apparently we are unbeaten in 11 matches at their place. Yes fingers crossed against Portsmouth. We looked fit and strong today and thoroughly deserved to win.
  6. Can we play you every week.... Every credit. Well done to ALL of our players. Go on big John Eustace.
  7. We are away from home against a top six team. Who have caused us very few problems. Everyone working hard and very well drilled.
  8. Nice play by Brittain and Buckley. Chance for Weimann should have troubled the keeper.
  9. Cantwell some nice touches. Toth steady away. Centre halves looking solid. Leonard, JRC and Weimann hardly had a kick.
  10. Much as I hoped. Eustace takes his work seriously. The travelling fans will be chuffed.
  11. Whatever name gets mentioned its either a lack of ambition, lack of financial committment, too old, not good enough, unwanted elsewhere, too young, too thin, wrong position, not fit enough, not fast enough, their numbers are crap, too flashy, too soft, bad attitude, alcoholic, blah blah blah. These are pro-footballers for a reason. Yet few have the ability to identify the reasons why.
  12. Three of our best ever. Now our strikers can't even time the ball sweetly.
  13. I saw that as well. This one has Tav on a lot more. https://salarysport.com/football/championship/blackburn-rovers/
  14. This site has him on 20k per week. https://m.aiscore.com/salary/team-blackburn-rovers-g63kv9iev1ip7ez
  15. If it was that simple to guarantee promotion every club in the division would spend another £10 or £20 million.
  16. Possibly, but at least he is getting a game. We definately need shut of Sigurdsson however.
  17. Yes I believe he is our top earner on circa 18k a week. Not getting much bang for that outlay.
  18. If recent league results had gone well I would definately be tempted to make wholesale changes. But without a win in five, the feel good factor from a good performance here would give the squad a timely lift. A lot of regular starters need a confidence boost, especially those upfront. It's pro football and we have a proud history in this competition. Let's pick a strong team and go and win the game.
  19. When I see clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, Forest and Fulham all thriving in the PL and the likes of Ipswich, Wolves, Palace, Leicester etc all currently resident in the PL I see well operated football clubs. When I see the likes of Rovers, Wednesday, Sunderland, QPR, Boro, Coventry, Derby, Stoke I see medium or bigger sized clubs that have been very badly managed. Both Gibson and the Venkys are specialists in waxing huge money to remain in the Championship. I'm not sure that deserves much credit. As this is the transfer thread the wider point being that clubs losing fortunes week in, week out, don't magically have huge wads of cash suddenly lying around in January to splurge on a promotion push. Unless they wish to incur further losses. One poster on here thinks we've got at least 15 million in our sky rocket to splurge on a promotion push. Others think the Venkys should lose 30 million each year instead of the 'poultry' 17 million. There's a reason even the well respected fan owners don't wax even greater amounts chasing their losses.
  20. Gibson has lost similar amounts as the Venkys bankrolling his football club. And kept them marooned in the Championship for 14 of the last 15 years. I'm unsure why he is constantly trotted out as a litmus test for the perfect football club owner. Perhaps because he bailed them out originally and is a fan? Our owners lose 17 million a year. 50k a day! Only player trading keeps us liquid. They wiped 30 million off our turnover and created this mess, but sadly there is no easy fix once you go down. Unless you want to risk your own personal fortune or the financial viability of your football club. As the respected Mr. Gibson will confirm.
  21. Yup. Common sense to me, but many will argue it disadvantages our team with big away followings. But it didn't help Leeds with 7000, or guarantee a win for Sunderland. But Stoke and Hull left with three points. Rovers fans get twitchy with big away followings for some reason I can't work out. I'd drag as many fans in as possible.
  22. Is anyone else allowed to score?
  23. Disappointing day, as much for the three points as any rivalry. Was a tad suprised at the starting line up. Easy now with hindsight, but Dolan, ACD and Cantwell are very lightweight and gentle players. It felt like a gamble, but i guess Eustace was desperate for that first goal and thought that was his best option. Unfortunately, none of the four with Gueye score any goals. I had wondered if both JRC and Hedges would start outwide, simply to try and impose ourselves physically. And leave options off the bench. Regardless, it wasn't to be. For me, when all are clearly trying their bollocks off, the biggest disappointment is when fans start highlighting individuals in the blame game. It was Pears, Pickering, Hyam, Hedges and Dolan early in the season. Then Gueye, Ohashi, Hedges, Dolan, mid-season. Now its Gueye, Tronstad, Cantwell, Leonard, Baker, Buckley. And again a little bit of Dolan of course. But we are not in the bottom four. We are in the top eight with a game in hand and have just played three of the top four. This group of players haven't collapsed. All this death spiral nonsense applies to the past not the current group. This lot are mentally strong with big balls and I'm at last proud of the team and really enjoying a football season again. Because all are giving 100% at all times and I cannot ask for any more. They just can't score any fucking goals.
  24. You've just confidently stated that the old model of two key decision makers is out dated. Then confidently stated that Rangnick and Ten Haag could have been a lasting solution to Man United. You should think before you post.
  25. And when he'd already been substituted.
