  1. Toths been heavily criticised for the punch against Coventry and flapping for the header. But he's under huge pressure for the punch, with players crowded around him restricting his movenent. The shot is a total miss cue, JRC was pathetic defensively, our big centre halves had lost their man, Toth tried to make himself big in front of him and it sneaks between his arms. A very soft goal indeed which started giving away a stupid corner. Who was marking the centre forward? Is that the keepers job now? And yes Pears thoroughly deserves his place. We are 7th not 17th. This constant stupid criticism of players is out of control. Every player, in every team, in every game makes mistakes. Brad Friedal he isn't, but he's played well this season. The haters have been dieing to bounce on him for weeks, but haven't had any ammunition .
  2. Posts like this arent helpful. You think they are selling a few chickens cash in hand? Fiddling our attendance figures amd gate receipts? The Venkys bought the club for £ 23.miilion plus £ 20 million of debt. They have spent north of £ 300 million of company turnover. They have now injected circa 140 million of their own money. They may be able to offset some taxes from profitable areas of their other businesses due to losses incurred at the Rovers. But the benefits will be neglible and the losses still huge. I don't think there is a cunning plan. I still believe they bought a high profile business to raise brand awareness in the UK in advance of establishing retail chicken outlets. A couple of stupid decisions later, their new business was in the press for all the wrong reasons, operating costs had spiralled, visibility was decimated, toxic brand aassociation heightened and their VFC plan was aborted. They then spunked all the parachute payments on the likes of Danny Murphy, Rochini, Goodwillie, Etuhu, Best, Orr, Hanley, Olsson twins, Miles fucking Anderson. We had a very, very expensive squad at that time. And terrible results. The club never recovered. It's been a series of terrible decisions for many years and all the financial strength created initially by Uncle Jack and then through our PL status has been completely eroded. And now we are totally skint. The company isn't functioning. 99% of all.other business would be shut down.
  3. Mmmm. What does senior sources mean? I doubt he'd be telling all and sundry he wanted offski and there are few above the manager in football clubs. The three stooges wouldn't be running around gossiping about this. Who else is there? Bit of a non story in my view. All managers are always looking for better opportunities, which is basically what this post says. He's not after the Chorley job. Plus didn't WBA count him out due to a buy out clause or severance pay issue? As you were.
  4. Over 1000 tickets sold to Rovers fans. Brilliant effort. Time to man up. We need a win.
  5. Thank you. It's not off thread. These are all mitigating factors in why we sell our best players and look to recruit cheaply.
  6. Interesting. Turnover and costs increasing. As a trend, media rights are growing and match day income increasing. Although they get criticised, commercial income is also on the up. How do you turn a billionaire into a millionaire?
  7. Makes sense cheers. I couldn't find those on companies house.
  8. In the trading year 18 / 19 the company turned over 16.7 million. With costs of circa 33 million. Pre-trading loss of 16.1 million. We lost a further 1.6 million on player trading. Total loss of 18+ million. In the trading year 19 / 20 the company turned over 13.5 million. With costs of circa 34.2 million. Pre-trading losses of 20.1 million. We lost a further 1.2 million on player trading. Total loss of 21+ million. In the trading year 20 / 21 the company turned over 14.5 million. With costs of circa 33.5 million. Pre-trading loss of 15.6 million. 13 million came in from player trading, but we also spent 3.5 million on player trading. Total loss of 6.6 million. In the trading year 21 / 22 the company turned over 16.6 million. With costs of circa 35 million. Pre-trading loss of 17.4 million. We successfully brought in circa 6 million on player trading. Total loss of 11.8 million. In the trading year 22 / 23 the company turned over 21.0 million. With costs of circa 38.5 million. Pre-trading loss of 17.8 million. We spent a further 3.1 million on player trading. Total loss of 20.9 million. I can't find figures for 23 / 24. If we average it out at 17 million losses. With circa 18 million incoming for Wharton, 9 million for Sammie, 5 million for Raya, another 1.5 bits and bats circa 35 million. 18 million profit for the year. Losses of 78 million for the previous 5 years. Losses over 6 years circa 60 million. Total losses north of 130 million. Total expenditure blown north of 450 million. So why do they still bother? 1) Indian pride / caste theory? 2) Skeletons in the cupboard theory? 3) Zero business acumen theory? 4) Zero football knowledge theory? 5) Cannot be arsed theory? 6) Tax write off theory? 7) The son of the sons plaything theory? 8) Hate Rovers fans theory? Whatever the reason, things are about to get worse for the owners. We have not re-invested wisely in either the stadium, facilities or squad. We don't have any valuable players left to sell. So those 17 million losses will soon need paying wholly out of their own funds. There won't be any player trading gains to offset them. I can't see that making them happy. And if they don't change anything then nothing will change. So I personally believe we are heading towards a critical period in their ownership. What would I do in this position? I'd do exactly what I believe Eustace wants to do. I'd focus purely on the short term. I'd gamble on getting in the play offs and getting promoted. I'd increase my financial exposure and get time served, experienced players in that can do an immediate job and try and wriggle into the play offs. If it didn't work, I'd sell up. As losing 17 million a year on a business i did not enjoy would be foolhardy. Like the rest if you, my family and I, have devoted a large chunk of their lives to this club. My mum and dad went to the Wolves cup final, I was there against Charlton, away at PNE, against Tottenham, against Liverpool. Therefore I'm hoping it's; 9) The fucking snowball theory. The most expensive snowball in history. That at least would be amusing. Where were you when Speedie dived?
  9. A tad unlucky here. We've looked good and created some opportunities. Some good performances so far.
  10. This season depending on what result we have just had and who is posting; Pears isn't good enough. Brittain isn't good enough. Hyam isn't good enough. Tronstad isn't good enough. Hedges isn't good enough. Dolan isn't good enough. JRC isn't good enough. ACD isn't good enough. Cantwell isn't good enough. Gueye isn't good enough. Leonard isn't good enough. Ohasho isn't good enough. Forshaw isn't good enough. Sigurdsson isn't good enough. Batth, Beck, Travis, Toth and Sanderson are currently good enough. Miraculously we are 5th with 14 players who aren't good enough. Eustace gets all the credit, but has still not played any minutes. Looks like im in the minority but I fully expect us to bounce straight back after the 1-0 loss to Oxford. Rovers 2 Coventry 1.
  11. Dangerous place to give a free kick away. Brittain booked.
  12. 0-0 half time. Just as we like it. Tronstrad is a blow. Gueye booked for nothing.
  13. Yes. They fall under other expenses in our accounts not player salaries, or player trading.
  14. You said I was untruthful. Now condescending. Anything else? Yet i didn't allude to anything. I said they commit to cover 17 million in losses each year. Which is correct. We are ALL already aware that judicious re-investment in players can be beneficial. It's not a new footballing development.
  15. 17 million losses x 2 years = 34 million. Minus Wharton 18 rising to 22 million, Sammie 9 million plus add ons, Raya 5 million. 18 + 9 + 5 = 32 million. Plus increased TV revenue = small profit. Ben iif your £ 135.00 million down over 13 years, then make £ 2 million in year 14 do you believe you are now in profit? Plus you need the 2 mullion to help offset the next 12 months 17 million losses. Anyway it's not rocket science. We are skint, unless the owners decide to wax their own money in ever increasing amounts.
  16. Yes it was an exaggerated comment. Yes successful player trading is hugely beneficial. Yes owners have to subsidise losses as does any business owner. You think Gueye is useless. You don't rate Ohashi. You think Leonard should be on loan in League One. However, two of these players represent our recent attempts at buying cheap to hopefully sell on. Ww could spend 10 million in January and still not make the play offs. Under JW we had the most expensive squad in the division and only scraped unto the play offs via an away win at Plymouth.
  17. Morning. Yes we all wish it wasn't so. I'd love to take my grandson to the Rovers playing Premier League football. However it is what it is. The owners are currently owed circa £ 135 million by the club / company. The owners commit to topping up a £ 21 million turnover business by £ 17.million to cover the operating losses each year,. The owners lose 45k per day keeping us operating at this level. The owners do not make any money from the club. And never have, despite what folk would have you believe. If they can offset operating losses through the sale of assets they do so. The Venkys will have spent north of £ 450 million in company and personal money since taking ownership. Bradley Orr is happy, Danny Murphy is happy, Derek Shaw is happy, Owen Coyle is happy, Jerome Anderson is happy, Shebby Singh is happy, Gary Bowyer is happy, Steve Kean is happy, Henning Berg is happy and a million and one other total wankers are happy as effing Larry with holiday homes in Portugal. People who fleeced the club, contributed nothing and who never get mentioned anymore. A decades worth of incompetence. 30 million wiped off our turnover. 12,000 wiped off our crowds. The owners are wholly to blame of course. They sacked Allardyce to save a million a year and because we got tonked at Old Trafford. They then recruited Kean. Thick as pig shit. But the owners aren't happy. Nor are they secret Burnley fans being mean to us all. And we aren't happy. So we niggle each other on here because we don't sign 10 new players and turn £ 17 million losses into £ 37 million losses. The business is not financially viable. We somehow need at £ 20 million player to sell each year to remain liquid. Its a financial shitstorm, there's no easy fix, there's no easy answers and there's no quick remedy. Meanwhile, there are currently 24 better owners than ours in the footballing pyramid. And it could be argued there are currently 67 worse owners than ours. And they all lose money. Like everyone else, it's all on a wing and a prayer. We need a magician. Be it a low level signings, or a couple of loans, we need Eustace to pull rabbits out of his hat. We need a succession of astute decisions to try and nullify the gross negligence displayed for a decade or more. I dont blame the owners for not trusting the idiots they recruit to manage their monies professionally. But they recruit them in the first place. And round and round we go. Our captain earlier this year said if we had been a tad more clinical we'd be in the top two. This manager and group is targeting the play offs. I am certain we are going to get very close with our existing group of players. Eustace has helped me enjoy a football season again.
  18. I didn't say I'd be concerned. I said I could understand 99 being concerned about future choices if Eustace chose Gueye and Ohashi. Because they have both struggled to score. This is why he wants proven championship experience at this stage of the season. And I think he's quite not right not to be gambling our chances on the unknown. They have been feeding off scraps all season. But they aren't as quick as Sammie, or as clinical and they were brought in to replace his goals. And it isn't going to happen.
  19. You tell me what and who we need? Like it or not, you've got two million and about 30k a week for wages. Especially if Sigurdsson is staying. And we need a winger and a striker. Every player that gets mentioned, someone either drags out comments from fans of his previous club, recent stats, injury record, etc. We aren't getting the finished article that's for sure, so you, we, me are relying on Eustace to find a diamond thst no one else has spotted. Or a player that's lost their way that he can re invigorate or improve. I trust Eustace. You don't. But I don't know why. Unless you think he recommended signing Gueye and Ohashi. If so i understand your concerns. But i dont think he identified them. Hence why he now wants proven Championship quality players that he knows can do a job for him. I think Eustace is looking no further than the end of this season. I think he is going to recruit the players now to try and get us in the play offs. And we are so close we can smell it. And no one likes playing us. And we are getting better. And we are better than we think. It's ok. You are making sense.
  20. No they are all completed five minutes after the window opens. There's only Rovers still looking. Every other club in the country concluded all their business on day one of the window. Yes we have also ignored the rule book and recruited two players. But you think one is 4th choice and the other useless. Yes I have faith. Because I have faith in Eustace. And he said there's some money to spend. Why would he say that if it wasn't true.
  21. Sunderland get 40k crowds, turnover 35 million and only lose 9 million per year. So they have 15 million more income and 8 million less in losses and you are suprised they can spend more than us? Two years ago Sheffield United had 140 million turnover which fell to 64 million in the Championship. 44 million more income than us due to the parachute payments. And you are suprised they are in a stronger financial position than us? Plus they are gambling on automatic promotion, which is clearly beyond our capabilities.
