  1. Done their homework. Doubling up on Dolan / Brittain.
  2. Gueye, Weimann, Hedges, Buckley largely anonymous.
  3. Come on you blues. Dropped a lot of points recently. The pressure is cranking up. Hope we can deal with it. I think we will draw this match 1-1.
  4. Eustace said there was money available. Eustace said he wanted experienced Championship campaigners. Eustace said he wanted pace outwide and upfront. Eustace said he wanted some quality and more of a threat in front of goal. Eustace said he wanted proven re-inforcements to give the group a lift. Six new players brings a lot of drive and positive energy to the team. It will create healthy competition, cover for injuries, change the dynamic and inject belief. It's largely a short term strategy, but im ok with that. Sixteen cup finals. A large number of these players and possibly the manager, won't be here anyway if we don't achieve the play offs and win promotion. Just focus on the opportunity we have here and now. Could we have done more? Of course. As could everyone. But at least we have given ourselves a chance and i'm pleased for Eustace and our stand out, star performers. They have given everything this year. We are better than we think. We have been a well kept secret all year. The standard is relatively poor. Can we keep our nerve, can someone go up a gear, or can a new signing make the difference? We need 10 more goals from somewhere and to remain miserly in defence.
  5. It's all about the next four months, nothing else matters. We have a professional approach, great team spirit and some very good players. Time to crack on.
  6. Who are all these brilliant owners you reference? The only clubs above us are either awash with parachute payments, or Sunderland averaging 38,000 each home game.
  7. I don't see the problem in getting loan players in. Makes perfect sense to me. We need quality and we can't afford to buy the quality we may acquire by way of a loan move. We are not planning for the next three seasons. Its all about getting in the play offs this season. We need to focus all of our energies on that short term target and hope for the best.
  8. Anything that takes the defenders out of their comfort zone and affects their concentration is helpful. No defender wants to be stood there for a corner. Older fans will remember the Brotherstone corners to the near post, Faz flicking it on and Garner nodding in at the back post. Very hard to defend against, normally resulting in another corner, the ball headed back to the corner taker, or a flick on into the danger area.
  9. If you are pinning your hopes on any one player firing us to promotion you are going to be disappointed.
  10. Are you confusing Oxford with Bristol?
  11. He's back for every corner and every free kick. Two are marking him for every set piece. He has had zero service. Hes knackered after 60 minutes as he has very little support. Hes been settling into a new league, new team, new location, new country. All the attackers on our books have a similar record. He plays in a system were defence has been the overriding priority. If strikers are judged purely on goals you are of course correct. If you care to think it through its no suprise hes now improving.
  12. You win and lose as a team and I choose to avoid criticising our players. Especially when they play for the shirt and give their all. Players need time to bed in following a move and feel part of the new set up. I've high hopes for the lad for the rest of the season. He's getting better and better and at last being given some service. We certainly need Gueye, Ohashi, Dolan, Hedges and Cantwell to go up a gear. The defence has been brilliant for the most and it's time the attackers gave them a breather. I like this manager and these players a lot. Irrespective of their individual abilities.
  13. Hedges and Dolan got a lot of criticism in the first half of the season. Meanwhile we were in the play off positions for most of that time. Hedges and Dolan getting a lot of criticism again today. As we go back into the play off positions. Let's hope they get slagged off all year. And we coast into the play offs with them starting most weeks. Congrats to all involved today. Really pleasing win after a tough January.
  14. A poster on the Plymough forum said Forshaw was on £ 12,500.00 a week and they were glad to be shut of him. Not sure how true, or how much we might be paying him.
  15. 0 points from 9 with Tronstad missing.
  16. I'm presuming the players will not feel this way, realise it is still all to play for and remain completely professional. .
  17. Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton as newly relegated clubs qualify for 49 million in parachute payments in the year following relegation. The year just gone the three parachute payment teams in Leicester and Southampton went up and Leeds finished third. Although they have struggled this season, Luton are flush with cash.
  18. I don't think our manager and players will be as frightened of PNE as many on here. Home results were good all season until the last three or four games. Eustace constantly talked about a fortress. It's now or never if this group want individual and team success. Which all of them will. I believe they will re-group, roll their sleeves up, re-calibrate and go again. I'm expecting a fully committed performance and with a little bit of luck, a victory. Talking of luck, we had quite a bit in our decent run. And very little of late. Injuries, deflected goals, near misses, etc. Nothing lasts forever. It's the end of January and we are 7th. Time to stop flapping about our prospective loan or free transfer saviour firing us to promotion. The fans haven't turned on the players or manager. We understand the struggle. 1200 at Bristol, even though many thought we would lose 4 zip. Its high time we got our shit together, especially in local derbies. Rovers 2 - Nob End 0.
  19. Mmmmm. We also lost to Hull, Stoke, Plymouth, Coventry, Millwall, Watford etc in very winnable games long before January. Our failure to replace Szmodics adequately has been the major problem all season.
  20. Quite right. Meanwhile our crap wingers like Dolan and Hedges who do so much work defensively are never credited for this. Nor thd likes of Gueye and Ohashi back for evey corner and free kick.
  21. Whilst my memory isn't the best they were all part of our championship squad circa 2012 / 13 when the parachute payments were being wasted. I could have mentioned others. I meant Rahem Hanley. Grant did ok for us. Orr and Goodwillie were disastrous. Formica. King, Kazim Richards, Gomez, Nunes, Riviera etc. We had a very expensively compiled squad of total underachievers paying out big salaries. I wish someone like Eustacd had been in charge at that time.
  22. Squad players? Nope. You for example don't rate Ohashi (1 in 18), Gueye is the worst striker Rovers have ever had and Leonard should be out on loan. We can all read what you write.
  23. I can name you ten players at least that people do not think are good enough to play in our first team. Yet we have been top 8 all year. Make it make sense. He conceeded from a deflected free kick on his side against Bristol. I think he was trying to ensure it didn't happen again. We enjoyed some luck in our good run of form. I dont think we've had that the last few games. And when you struggle to score a bit of bad run can be disastrous.
