  1. Nothing's guaranteed, but he's probably first choice, at the moment. If he's interviewed and fits the bill, I can't see us talking to anyone else. Could be wrong though, 'cos really, I don't have a clue. [first to admit it] Thought you had to interview all of the candidates.... so 5 on the list? as they are suitable! I don't think we would pick dowie over dick if we didn't have the Mighty Hughes as our first option!
  2. I wrote a long message and i posted and it couldn't connect to server so i lost it! So if you let in goals to a lesser team you are not good? Right we can't employ anybody then and tony parkes can't be in charge! Taking into account the match in hand, local derby, 3 people where sent off(should have been 4), meaning a very open game, ie. goals. Jones had a nightmare which is by no mean sthe managers fault when he only gets a few days to work with the whole team! "weeing with the willy you have got", a mix of prem and div 1 players who aren't tip top to be honest! In getting them almost to euro 04 hughes exceeded wales fans expectations and has single handedly transformed welsh football!
  3. I wouldn't say he's failed at wales at all. He has done the best he can with a crop of prem and div 1 players! Can't be expected to win tournaments, and he did get them to the playoffs for euro 04! The wales fans love him for doing such a good job and are not calling for his head at teh 2 draws so he can't be doing that badly eh? He isn't proven as a manager by any means but he is up & coming, gives the club alot of power in the transfer market. He would be a big plus all round. Tooting: brian kidd wasn't an international manager neither did he have a good a career as hughes! I don't think hughes career needs any help he would be fine with or without us! Kidd was simply an assistant manager and why would you employ an assistant manager
  4. No he hasn't he made a statement saying there have been loads of applicants and we don't need to advertise but i do not believe he has ever made such a bold statement as "we will not approach a manager". It would be obserd to think that, you have to keep all options open! Hughes is an obvious fans & player favourite so why not at least ask him if he would be interested if he hasn't applied! JW is very clever and knows what he is doing......(i might change that statement depending on if Hughes gets the job or not )
  5. Got them to a FA cup final..... Did ok in the league on limited resources! The coventry saga as i keep saying was not his fault it was the boards! The chairmen at the time was a money grabber who sold every player who was worth anything as the first chance and offered no reinvestment! Its hardly surpiring they went down, only surprise is they didn't go to the 2nd division and go bankrupt...that would have made my year!
  6. Houllier has not got a clue! He would be an awful choice! He doesn't know a good player from a bad one and insists he is the best thing since sliced bread even when his team is awful! At least with hughes you get a big name who will attract outside support and instill faith in the team. It will give us greater player attraction and he may not have th ebest record but he has done very well with a lmited team in wales!
  7. Looking for an umbrella ??? Wouldn't he jsut go to the all new umbrella shop? for all your wet weather needs! Maybe he wants a car to match up to steadys
  8. i'll spit my dummy out if we don't at least offer him it!!! Don't think who the players want will be a major factor if a different person is installed....But its Hughes anyway so theres no problem!
  9. well the guardian dissagree Search begins tomorrow!
  10. Another new manager for another new day!?! Noway we would pick reid as we would have to pay cov, for someone who isn't doing well there. When it was out that soui had left a few cov fans said please take reid from us and i siad a rud ewor dor 2! can't see him being installed its Hughesy
  11. He wants to get into club management, theres nothing to stop him still being wales manager aswell. Hughes realises that club management is harder than international and probally wants to get the hang of things before he is targetted when sir alex dies! If offered the post which he himself said he doesn't expect, but seemed to give the impression he would like! He said the club is great and will be brilliant for someone to manage (or similar words) hardly the words of someone hwo would turn down an offer. A bigger question is if he didn't apply then why didn't he?
  12. Just went on my rounds! of betfair which is taking bets, skybet which i can't find anything and on william hill theres nothing aswell. Hughes signed up already then
  13. Why so we can laugh down the phone at him while we talk to strachan and hughesy
  14. The crisis at coventry was nothing to do with strachen. He was not allowed to keep players who were sold above his head and he had to work with what he was given. He proved his worth as a manager with southampton who are not plush with funds but have been a force in recent times. I for one would be very happy to see him in charge...who knows we might get some decisions.
  15. WHAT!!!!!! Bazza is by far our best outfield player and i wouldn't let him go to a team with money for less than......£20trillion.....£20million would be nice though. Get someone with a bit of sense to spend it
  16. Because newcastle were asking everybody else they could think of before getting to the bottom of the barrel!
  17. Yes because he has the clubs cueing up for him doesn't he 1. Hughes 2. Strachan 3. Newell Just for god sake not Houllier please!!!!!! How about souness we could snatch him away from newcastle?
  18. Can't say i an extatic but neither am i deverstated! Would have liked a bit more loyalty considering we brought his managerial career back to life and supported him thoughtout everything. But it solves alot of problems, shame we haven't still got cole!
  19. Well aslong as someone does... I think every match of the day highlights i have seen he has ended up on his back at least once or twice! Dropped from the england squad aswell! Doing brilliantly Both my mates(brum fans) are cracking jokes about how they own the trinidad & tobago front line! I think they are secretly worried about bruce having a joke signing before he heads for newcastle! Personally i'd rather have stern john than yorke at least he trys!
  20. Also scored 10 goals in a team that has had endless problems and went down.... Could do well for us then! Just because a manager picks ravanelli doesn't mean he is better?!?! Reputation has alot to do with it! I mean we got baggio, yorke, cole on reputation, look how that turned out! (get a grip super)
  21. Dickov is probally our best singing! (so far) MGP will be a great addition! Bothroyd will score goals, and add depth! Matteo looks lost so far, would be good to see him in his proper place. De pedro i think will come good when he reachs full fitness! Got to say selling yorke to brum was a masterstroke! cole i am not so happy about but its probally for the best!
  22. Link! 1 year deal with an option of 2! phew! Hoping for a couple of million!!!!
