My guess is that the delay is down to them wanting JDT to sign an NDA which unfortunately will probably be only way they relieve him of duties and the circus will continue without anyone speaking out.

Or it could simply be down to cost.

Venky's can't currently supply any money and the Wharton cash ( probably only a percentage paid up front from CP ) has been earmarked for HMRC / wages.  They will not have budgeted for a big payoff for JDT.

So maybe Venky's won't sanction a sacking and JDT won't walk.

Just seems a lot of people are almost happy that Broughton could be a goner. His transfer record over all has been at least as good(if not better) than anybody that has come before him during the venky period imo! And his hiring of jdt turned out to be a real breath of fresh air(for the first 12 months at least)

Wahlstadt was thrown in at the deep end, I'd say ideally he needed to spend at least this whole season as an understudy to a more experienced senior keeper (sadly he's only got flippin Pears in that role)

Ennis signed on a free and reportedly sold for around half a mill just 6 months later. So a relatively risk free signing initially that didn't work out(for whatever reason) but they've still quickly profited from it

Telavovic.. The jurys still out for me, i like his attitude and he has ability but whether he's cut out for this level only time will tell... But again a relatively cheap low risk signing that I'm sure would be easy to offload if needs be.

Tronstadt alone tips the balance for me, great little find, quality player and potential future captain material in my book

Obviously the jury is very very much out on this januarys bargain bucket recruits but again they're all relatively low risk signings that could potentially turn out to be excellent additions(if not then no big loss)

Ennis would have had a fair proportion of his 4 year contract paid up. I bet we didn't make any profit at all

Now the Mcguire case has been heard, I will now share the chain of events confirmed by four different sources who were ALL in the building on Transfer deadline day.

I will also dispel some myths and bollocks which has spun around the net.

GB Spoke with Orlando over a period of a few weeks regarding his interest in Mcguire (DOF Identifies players, his role)

Orlando had cash bids from Sheff Wednesday and GB Indicated that the club would be willing to buy the player for £5-7 Million including add on, however this was not an offer and it would have to go through the correct channels at the club, as it was subject to due diligence, funds and negotiation by those who do the money side (GB Does not negotiate contracts or fees).

The deal being pulled mid flight is complete fabrication, Rovers had not progressed to a formal offer, hence he ended up in Sheffield and not Blackburn. HIs agent negotiated with Orlando to have him in England as there was firm interest from two clubs possibly a third.

Following due diligence, which included using overseas data analysis, the clubs wide scouting network, it was clear that Mcguire had just seven months ago been playing college football, (The equivalent of turning out at pleasington on a Sunday). He was at nearly 23 a late rookie breakout last season in the MLS, Which in all fairness is a not the highest standard.  GB Wanted the player, so the club negotiated a "Try before you buy" offer, instead of spunking millions at a relatively unknown quantity. Orlando was happy with this, so the player headed to Blackburn.

All formalities were done by between 8pm and 9pm and the paperwork uploaded. All Seniors were in the building SW, GB, IC and IS. The club opted to wait to announce the deal and ordered curry in to celebrate what they deemed a successful window.

A sweep was done around the office a number of times with all those involved to ensure everything had been dotted and crossed.

GB and IS Assured everyone this was the case, please note only the secretary can upload to the portal and press send. No one left the office and the deal was announced.

At around 11.04 one of the admin girls who I shall not name, told the CEO That it had not been sent. Of course at this point complete devastation for a very large team at Ewood who had put a lot of effort into transfer deadline day.

Only one person could send this, and everyone else had done their part, that person stated it had gone, to all the senior team and those who play a supporting role.

Th fault of this lies solely with the secretary.

The background noise of transfers being cancelled mid-flight just did not happen. Adam Wharton's deal was done Wednesday and had no baring on this fiasco.

The club were hoping time stamps of uploads would get leniency from the EFL, But deep down knew this lad been badly let down and it was never going to end well.

We have huge sticks and bombs to hit certain people, but truth be told this is one person, who has royally fooooooked it up for everyone.

One person makes a mistake. I don't buy it. Where is the procedure put in place by Broughton, peer  checking, printing off verification for filing. All sorts of methods to ensure mistakes like that don't happen when the stakes are high.

  4. This managerial change is perfect timing for Waggott.

Unpopular sale of Adam Wharton, more transfer cockups, terrible form on the pitch, protests looming, toxic atmosphere, Venky's court hearing postponed. Anti Venky feeling growing. Massive pressure on the CEO.

Change the manager and many fans will be in 'give him a chance ffs' mode.

Pressure off for now. Retire in the summer. Crafty bugger that Waggott.

Steve getting the pressure for the first time last weekend and didn't like it.

Now using every tactic possible to try and prevent any further unrest aimed at his direction by saying 'look at how it affects the players' .

How he's still there trying to hold a rooms attention is mind boggling.

I hope none of the rovers groups who went were hoodwinked.

    Absolutely spot on.

Please don't protest or boo at matches as the players get upset. He is really clutching at straws.

Like I said previously we still hadn't completed the fleck signing. They were trying to get other players In the door

    Was Ennis fully completed?

He could have been doing a number of things ,taking calls from clubs enquiring about our players ,taking calls from clubs/agents offering players, contacting clubs asking about loans, negotiating with fleck .

We dont hear about everything that happened on transfer deadline day but I'm pretty certain at other clubs the dofs ain't sat around submitting documents .Now if it turned out the documentation was filled out incorrectly then I would be putting blame on Broughton, but an error like clicking save instead of send, i dont think Broughton can be blamed for not believing someone would be stupid enough to do thst

Procedures were put in place. GB promised it would not happen again

  7. 2 minutes ago, islander200 said:

Yeah but according to the athletic everything was correct with the paperwork it just wasn't sent off, someone clicked save instead of send

I don't agree that's Broughton's responsibility,we were trying to get other players in aswell. If the paperwork was checked over and it's true that someone clicked save instead of send then the blame lies elsewhere for me.

But Broughton stated that all procedures had been revisited after last year's cockup and promised it would never happen again.

It's simple - click send, check that it has sent, print off verification get a manager/peer to check the verification.

Not click any button and go for a cup of tea.

I heard Mike Cheston and Ashfaq Hassan have both left. Not sure under what circumstance and for legal reasons I must stress that is not confirmed and doesn’t necessarily mean it’s connected.

I bet Cheston probably volunteered to be the sacrificial sacking. Not far from retirement, probably got a massive payout and will be nowhere near the club when it goes into admin. Very convenient.

Venkys for all of their failings have never shirked putting money in. Hopefully they are allowed to continue to do so and in the summer we can finally begin a Brentford model of reinvestment based on selling players of the calibre of Adam rather than letting them walk for free.

People will still be saying this in another 13 years time.

Venky's don't care about the club and never will. They need to go now.

  10. It feels to me like Wharton really didn't fancy the Palace move but Rovers have been pushing him as hard as they can and, possibly, using 'emotional blackmail' regarding the club's finances.

Despite the personal financial rewards, I don't think it's a good move for Adam and the only people to benefit are Venky's.

  11. I can imagine the club are putting a lot of pressure on Adam Wharton to accept a move to Crystal Palace even though it's probably not his preferred option. "We need the money, The owners can't provide any at the moment - you will be saving the club"

I would just love it if he refused to go. He will get better offers in the future.

Then there’s Sammie, then there’s err… oh yeah Brockhall

The intersting thing about Brockhall is that the price they paid was based on it's vlaue with planning permission granted. As far as I know, there is no planning permission for building on the training ground.

I wonder if this has been looked at suspiciously in India like the purchase of the Neville mansion ? Another reason to question their intentions and stop them sending money over?

According to the court documents from last time, the investigations into Venky's overseas activities are at a 'nascent stage'. Who knows what they have unearthed in the last few months

The thing I was wondering was, it seems to be widely reported that the Court approved £11m worth of funding last time.

What period did that cover and why are we having to go back only 3 months or so later? At the same rate that equates to £44m p.a. Worth of funding rather than the £20m its accepted they put in.

The figures never seem to add up to me.

We know that a winding up order was threatened in April was because they had missed Tax payments. I believe they were already on a 'plan' because of previous missed payments. Presumably, they have now caught up with HMRC payments for last year and it may have taken a fair proportion of the £11 million to do so ?

So maybe the reported £20 million per year has been masking the HMRC shortfalls?

What really annoys me is the arguments given for being allowed to make that £11 million payment - preserve investment and avoid damage to their reputation - nothing mentioned about preeserving a historical sporting institiution that is so important to the community.

Any investment they have made has already gone - simple as that. So the key factor to Venky's is their own reputation!

Here's hoping the judge does us all a favour this time around
