It was in the end. It wasn't for most of the game as everyone who watched it has said.
I watched it and I thought Leicester always had another gear if necessary. We flattered to deceive and looked likely to concede every time they attacked.

Outplayed a PL team for the most part. Sadly, JDT hasn't been given the right tools to do the job.
Still, a long way to go this season. Bit too soon to be writing the season off.
Lots of positives.
Seriously ? That game was an absolute stroll for Leicester.
Despite having some technically gifted players we are a very poor team and so easy to play against. Way too passive in every respect. I didn't see any positives today.

I have heard that all corporate tickets tonight are being accommodated in the BBE Red Rose Suite and JW corporate areas are closed.
Presumably Waggott will be hiding away in BBE as far as possible from irate fans in JW.

Assume this game isn't legally being shown on TV?
But the excuse for shutting BBE is that it will look better on TV if JW is full!

The website's not working because there are no records telling the domain where to route traffic (the A record and MX records are missing). If it was a problem with the DNS provider (the company that controls those records) they could simply update the nameservers on the domain to somebody else and reinstate them. It does take a while to propagate but no longer than an hour or two.
It's straightforward to remove then re-add records. You'd think 'surely not' but it is an easy way to stop/slow down sales to fit the narrative of closing the Blackburn End whilst blaming technical issues.
I expect there'll be people here who have more insight but that's my take.
Th IP address is currently not available. As you mention, a DNS fault would be a 10 minute job to fix.
The servers will be maintained by a third party and even a catastrophic server failure would be fixed easily enough in an hour or so.
In my experience there are 2 reasons for a high profile website/server to be unavailable for so long -
1) Hacking
2) Service provider not been paid

I reckon we should all queue up outside the Blackburn end Tomorrow so they will need to deploy stewards and police there after all

Sticking with fag packet numbers.
Rather than having an empty stand, sell seats for £2/£3 each. Kids for a quid.
Adds thousands onto the gate, better atmosphere (which helps the team), footfall spend, etc, etc.
I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face. A full stadium is always, always, always better than a third/half full stadium.
If I ran the club, this would be my absolute number 1 priority.
Bradford v Boro in Carabao cup all tickets £5.
They would get a big crowd even at full price ( they have 15,000 STs ).
A club that operates with the fans in mind

Yup, Wages to Turnover % needs to be at 70% by 2026 or something. Last financial report had us at 147% for 2021/22, no doubt it's come down fairly significantly to 110-120% since then, maybe a little lower.
Whilst it's frustrating, being one of the few clubs who's making a head start on this requirement (albeit due to circumstances out of the clubs control), coupled with the fantastic academy churn out we have, we'll be in a very strong position come that deadline.
If we don't manage to get promoted before 2026, we'll be one of the (if not the) most prepared clubs in the league for the changes.
They could, of course reduce the ratio of wages to turnover by increasing the turnover. More sponsors, better ticket prices to increase crowds and, therefore, other income on matchdays, availability of replica shirts, use of Ewood facilities on non match days.
Or just cut wages, that's much easier.

Which is interesting as everything else that the same person has told me has either happened or been confirmed, even down to GB confirming that the 3rd deadline signing was a winger from the Bundesliga (Oli Burke).
What about the mid August meeting that was going to solve all the cashflow problems ? That didn't happen

Garrett was due to go out to cover the Moran in, but the loan deal fell through.
We had to get one body out of the door before the window closed - and it ended up being Buckley.
How come JDT doesn't know this ?

Vastly reduced profits on one of their main companies, new tax levy on outward going finance taking some blame, then properties being seized to the tune of 7 million.
But we can't have a thread about it because they haven't gone bust and they haven't sold the club !
By the way before all this we sold a fixed asset called the training ground, doesn't matter how, to who etc anything like that is always a big red flag that there is trouble on the horizon.
It's a good point about the training ground.
I don't know which company documents declared the Neville house purchase as a Poultry related business but I wonder if we could check what the training ground purchase was declared as ?

Well this topic has died a quick death as the hoped for bankruptcy of Venkys and the jailing of the family has failed to materialise. No point wasting energy on being angry, they ain’t going anywhere. Nearly every football clubs’ fans dislike their owners, we’re no different. In my memory, Jack Walker is the only owner Rovers’ fans have ever liked.
The club is a mess, the owners don't care, the 'board' is not worthy of the name and do nothing positive.
But, hey ho, let's just sit back and enjoy the next decade of decline.

Venkys overseas has been registered in UK for 12 years, the same as Venkys London.
So my point is, if they are looking at one, they will be looking at the other.
No one is suggesting a UK investigation
Venky's Overseas Limited was only registered in 2023. Herbie posted earlier about yet another company - Venky's Overseas Private - that was registered and dissolved in 2011. I think this is the one through which the Neville house was purchased

How many companies are there ? no wonder they are getting investigated.

Press release says funds were transferred from Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt Ltd
I thought that was odd - it is the company the bought the training ground, not the company that owns Rovers.

I am filing this one under 'storm in a teacup'
It may blow over, but it has directly affected the budget over the past month or so.
Its the sort of thing that can affect the future of the club. We Don't need it. What's going to crop up next?
-
I'm a little confused.
The article claims that the problem is with Venky's Overseas Ltd dating back to 2011:
The ED had initiated an investigation in connection with the illegal remittances made by the company since 2011 by its subsidiary named Venky's Overseas Limited, UK.
But VOS Ltd was only created in 2023- based in Jersey.
Venky's London limited, which directly owns Rovers, was created in 2010 but didn't post any accounts until 2011.

But what will that mean for Rovers ? The club is split in two with the training ground sale, we totally rely on funds from the owners, unless there is another Jack Walker out there - how do we avoid a Bury or Wigan scenario ? Everyone seems to be celebrating this news - I struggle to see how we can currently survive without the owners cash injections.
So what do we do? Rely on Venky's forever?
At some point they will leave and the sooner the better so that we can start to rebuild.

Plymouth's journeymen had too much nous for our young team. It's going to happen a lot this season.
Having a thin squad with no real options from the bench doesn't help.
Lack of experience and lack of goals will see us struggle this year. Having Pears in goal doesn't help either.

Terrible window. 2/10
I think most people who have commented on this thread are saying the same thing.
We needed to replace the experience and goals of the departed players. We haven't.
There would have been uproar if we didn't sign a striker so we plucked one from the German 4th tier just to placate the masses. We'll see how that turns out.
Buckley leaving was for the owner's financial benefit, not the good of the team. We could have done with him today - even just as an option from the bench ( which is looking very thin already )
The whole ethos of this transfer window was to spend as little as possible in order to tread water in the Championship.

Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?

If they took an interest and ran the club properly they could increase revenue and reduce the £20 million required. They just can't be arsed
