Hes been more lucky than anything strategic on this run. It's obvious he will never have what it takes to get rovers promoted

You're over looking a lot there and over-simplifying things. Its Mowbrays team. His players and he has built the team spirit. You don't get to second at this stage because of luck, to suggest it is is nonsense. If any other team was in our position , you wouldn't say it's because the manager is lucky. Is Warbirton at QPR lucky? Is that why they are where they are?

WBA didn't think it was ridiculous to pot their manager whilst in the play offs. They saw the writing on the wall and did something about it. Their fans were also up in arms over the last guy and his style of football.

Whether Bruce is an improvement we'll see, but I suspect that they'll finish the season stronger as a result.

Ya sacked him after giving him a 4 year deal 7 months ago. Completely different. Mowbray has been here years, building this team.

Time will tell whether things will work out for the better there

We will lose the physical battle, lose the midfield and therefore probably the match.

I cannot see where a goal is coming from, either in its creation or execution.

There is not a natural goalscorer in the squad apart from Diaz, not his nemesis Brereton, and a fit and inform Dack.

I have to smile when I see Travis acting hard, fecking pussy.

We are indeed looking weak in midfield, but Livermore is suspended for them and their fans have turned on Mowett big time. They have their own issues there

  4. I don't think a knee jerk change of formation is what's needed. The way we play now has brought us huge success and although results have slipped, it's because we have stopped being clinical in front of goal.

I would bring in Ayala for Lenihan, Gallagher for Khadra, Dolan for Buckley , Nyambe and Pickering for Zeefuik and Giles.

Rovers are a mid-table team which had a purple patch - against some of the weakest teams such as Pboro/Brum- and is now "reverting to the mean". Time is up for Mowbray.

This kind of throw in the towel nonsense is disappointing to see, but not surprising.

We are on a bad run, but we can turn that around. A lot of players close to returning too

  6. Tough one. Small margins and you can't miss a chance like Buckley and complain if you lose. He has to be hitting the back of the net there.

The wing backs were dreadful. Compare and contrast with Pickering and Nyambe when we were doing well. They seemed very nervous. Strange Nyambe wasn't even brought on, that surprised me

Khadra is a headless chicken. 99% flicks runs and tricks. 1% end product. Brereton was poor, more complaining than playing.

Wreckless by lenihan. I could see it coming and said it to my friend at half time. They just couldn't handle Davies. Are his yellows reset now? Luckily we have Ayala who you could argue is a better player.

Rothwell done my head in. Non existent for so much of the game when we needed him. The chance he tried to cross to Brereton, he had to be taking that on himself. Not far off Buckley's miss imo.

Need to dig out a 0-1 win at the weekend

I find it incredible that anyone would start either Gallagher or Hedges ahead of Khedra. I can only assume they haven't been watching the matches this season or in particular the games at Hull and the one on Saturday.

That said I would never underestimate Tinkerman Tony's ability to sabotage our promotion chances by trying to shoehorn Gallagher and the new recruits (who with the exception of Giles have singularly failed to impress) into the starting eleven ahead of the line up that has served us well this season.

Bit of a headless chicken again tonight khadra

I had a look on the internet to see what his most recent wages were and it was claimed it was "only" £31 k p.w. which if true should be doable in theory in conjunction with the promotion bonus etc.

Better for him than sitting there doing nothing, could be our Steve Archibald moment.

But you're right, given the lack of ambition shown in the transfer window to bring a much needed striker in there probably is more chance of SJ.

I find it quite incredible that some posters think us signing Costa is realistic and that its our lack of ambition that's the issue. Its actually pretty funny tbh

Both very similar sorts of goals. I'd like to see him as more of a aerial threat and with Giles we could see that happening. [[Working in progress]]

I would say the similarities end with the fact they were both headers. The PNE goal was a whipped cross from Khadra that Brereton managed get great connection on and guide powerfully to the corner, the Argentina one was a looping high cross that he got under and put back across and over the keeper
