  1. He was playing in pre-season and was inured prior to this. What's another 6 months? A long time for a young footballer. I find it difficult to believe you coach kids. It would concern me to be honest. As for the last part, that didn't do Armstrong any harm, did it? Hopefully Obafemi sees that, because it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up going to somewhere better
  2. You would have taken it and you know it. Yes, you said that's what we would get and under the circumstances you would take that, so as I said. Yet now you are moaning about the bonus extras we are getting. It's comical.
  3. Promotion here we come. Proven where, the Scottish second division?
  4. We aren't ,hence your inverted commas. So what is the conflict or is it just a lack of understanding?
  5. Wow, a footballer with a slight injury. Unprecedented. What is actually going on at the club 🙄
  6. Completely over the top and needless moaning. "Offloading an injury riddled youngster" Such a nasty way of putting it. You would have taken £15 million for Armstrong you said, so now have moved the goalposts? I hope he bangs them in and proves you all wrong. Although I would be more amazed if there was a signing you and a few others actually wouldn't moan about.. To answer your question, I'll keep it simple. Firstly, you have no idea what he's on at Southampton. Secondly we need a striker and one out in Armstrong and one in in Obafemi is pretty easy to understand, surely?
  7. Why don't you think McBride can step up?
  8. A nursing home? He's 21. Plus it's not as you claim at all. Ayala had a long term injury and I mean, what? Are you blaming Dack for his injury. Just nonsense.
  9. We do, but it's not as simple as we don't sign Obafemi and all of a sudden we offer them new deals they sign immediately.
  10. We are getting Obafemi for around £3 million it seems, not sure how that and his wages could stretch to strengthening '3-4" areas of the team. The players contacts are a seperate issue, who knows what's going on there. It seems to me the salary cap has been lowered and its hitting those at the top.
  11. Jesus and I get accused of slating Armstrong 😆 Ah no fair play, we can all have an opinion on a player after watching them...and some even without ever watching them 😉😂
  12. What cash? On who? We need a striker
  13. Seems a good kid in his interviews. I know you haven't seen him kick a ball, but surely you have watched his interviews to be able to base a view on his attitude?
  14. To be honest, he has his days when he's on it, he's likely to get you a goal. When he's not on it, he can't be wasteful, both by missing chances and also by not playing better placed team mates in. If he gets off the mark early for you, he will do well overall.
  15. That would make no sense. Getting Obafemi at a knock down price is a no brainer. We need a striker in and he would suit our style. If he starts scoring regularly, happy days. If we don't sign him , someone else will. If Mowbray is given £3 million to invest otherwise, I don't think he will get someone as good.
  16. It's an interesting comparison with Long. There are similarities for sure. I would be interested to know who would be quicker over 100m. Maybe Armstrong over the first yard or two, but at full pelt, I suspect Long might be. Long is stronger than Armstrong and is really good, actually I would go as far as excellent, in the air. They both have played on the outside of a front 3. Longs all round game would be better id say, but Armstrong has improved on that and could continue to do so. Armstrong is the better finisher, that's Longs achiles heel, but he has always been honest and worked hard at being a nuisance. Armstrong has the potential to score far more Premier League goals if he gets going ,but in fairness to Long he has played almost 350 PL games and scored over 50 goals. So Armstrong has a fair bit to go to get near those numbers.
  17. If we are getting him for say £3 million, we could regret missing out. That's a snip these days.
  18. Looks unreal there , but I suppose it is YouTube 🙂
  19. I think he has a lot of potential and it could be a good move for him. Now is the time to knuckle down and focus on his career. I would say it's more of a gamble than Idah would have been, but then again he also could potentially be better. I think he ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to replacing Armstrong. I'm a bit surprised they are letting him go and also that he wants to move.
  20. Maybe actually watching him play might help you find some answers?
  21. So seems he wasn't stretching and eating his veggies. At least he seems to be aware of the issues. A fresh start could be just the ticket. https://www.the42.ie/obafemi-not-100-as-professional-as-i-could-be-4959468-Jan2020/?section=comment#comments
  22. Ya, for £6 million alone, no ,it would be a gamble ,but I suppose we paid almost that on Gallagher and Obafemi was ahead of him at Southampton. The deal sweetens it with the 15 mil
  23. Raya has clangers in him ,he's small for a keeper. So ,ya question marks over him. He was shocking here at times. Absolute liability. Good shot stopper and looks to be improving. Not one that got away for me though. Very happy with Kaminski.
  24. Ya, maybe. Still though, some would have been happy with £15 million alone. I probably would have been, so it's a bonus really.
