I'll give you a clue both were strikers..

Don't tell me you didn't listen to the radio

Were did you say you've been again for the last few years...

I have heard plenty from Shearer and Sutton. I don't recall them making any comments about Senior. What did they say exactly?

Stability lol we're have you been for the last near seven years..

The only thing stable under Venkys is it's a stable decline

FYI managers who have stability always work with there own trusted men long term. We have a head coach with two guys he'd never met before Wednesday

Managers with their own trusted men fail a lot as well! Hence the merry go round.

Personally I like the fact that Lowe and Dunn are going to be working with Mowbray.

If we stay up he will probably get some other guys he knows in, but he may keep the 2 guys around. That is good for them and the club. Dunn is a Rovers legend.

He's way out of his league for a club director..More suited as a second hand car salesman

He's looking forward to cost cutting in the summer and making a percentage at the same time..

2 well known ex players have already made comments on senior

What comments were these and by who? I didn't see this.

That might be what we need though, Paul Senior won't want to be at Rovers for long, he sees himself being a director of football at a big club, which could mean that he has an incentive to do a good job. He's all about his CV and turning us around will look great on his CV. That is different to what we've had before.

Great point. I would take that all day.

We have gone though huge upheaval here over the past few years. If Senior wants to build his CV here, best of luck to him. We need stability. Mowbray is definitely a stable, solid manager.  So if the two of them can figure out a way to work together, it will be the most stability we have had in manies a year.

  5. Where was Mowbray living does anyone know? Did he have to move home to come here. Interesting in the interview he says his wife just had a child. Get in Tony lad. He sounded very good in that interview,I have to say. Honest, genuine and passionate with some good common sense thrown in. Here's to a good result tomorrow.

Kean and Coyle backed? I must have missed that.

Things are bad. Real bad. Our best players are loanees and we are in a dire situation.  Anyone coming in would have the same options, which are: no money, no support, no board, no structure and no say.  All we can hope for is survival but I sincerely hope every supporter does what they can to encourage that. I see no positive in courting failure for our club and there are some that think that relegation = a swifter Venky exit. I doubt that very much.  They will go when they are ready and we need the carcass of the club as highly placed as possible.

Great post. The most annoying comment I see by fans is that they want the club to be relegated, because it means Venkys MIGHT sell up and leave. Or even worse when they say they want the club to be relegated because it will hurt Venkys financially. Fans who say those types of things are a disgrace. Really frustrates me.

Interesting interview. I notice he says it would have been good to have had two weeks to prepare the players. Coyle should undoubtedly have been sacked, well at numerous points, but if they had the decision made after the rotherham game, right then. It would have given him two weeks with the players plus a competitive friendly against Utd. Having said that,we dont want to waste any bounce games and a win in the Burton game would be the ideal start.

If we play like we did against Utd we could win by a couple. Although it's always difficult when the pressure is on.

  8. I was shocked to read he is only 53. Could have sworn he was older.

After letting it sink in and reading what fans of his previous clubs have to say about him,I am think he could be a good choice, all things considered. He seems to be someone the players would respect and play for. Coyle had lost that early in the season.

In fairness he is an improvement on practically every manger we have had since Big Sam,you could debate Lambert, but I would definitely take him over the other chumps we have had here.

Starting away to Burton this week then have three home games versus Derby, Wigan & Cardiff which if being optimistic are all winnable.

We then face Norwich (A), Fulham (A), Preston (H), Brighton (A), Reading (A) & Barnsley (H) which are all tough games.

Final five games are crucial after that run with Forest (A), Bristol City (H), Wolves (A), Villa (H) & Brentford (A).

Mowbray must of looked at the fixtures, looked at the squad and thought it was possible or why take the job and have a relegation oh his CV.

Would 7 wins keep us up?

On another point - how come Lowe has leapfrogged both Johnno and Dunny in the pecking order and how come Dunny has leapfrogged Johnno ?    From what bit I understand Johnno was doing a great job with the younger players.

Hence it being a good idea to leave him with them?

He's not Coyle either? I don't know, it's pretty slim pickings. Got promoted with WBA in 2008 but they were relegated the following season. Sacked after nine months at Celtic. Joined Boro in 2010 when they were in a bit of bother and got them out of danger, eventually sacked at the start of the 13-14 season after a poor start. Joined Coventry at the end of the 14-15 season and kept them up, but was sacked in Sep 16 after a poor run of form.

Basically, he has a couple of great escapes on his CV and a promotion to the PL 8 years ago.

With all that said, as long as Venky's and/or unnamed others are here we are screwed regardless of manager... so it doesn't really matter.

That is why I don't get the 18 month contract.

Wow. That new coaching structure makes my head spin.

On Mowbray : had a wonderful few seasons but many moons again.   He seems a  throughly decent bloke, we should at least be thankful for that.

Coyle is a decent bloke too, but people turned him into the anti-christ. Watch he same thing happen Mowbray. With these owners, it will always be the same.
