It wouldn't be hard to upgrade our piss poor midfield and the fact that we had an outstanding championship midfielder in their prime that appeared prior to Tuesday that we could never attract within our grasp and we managed to fuck it up because the people overseeing it are a shambles is disgraceful.

Again, trying to be positive I wonder if Forest have got some indication that the O Brien deal will get approved. They are in advanced negotiations with Ayew for the last squad place they have available. Unless they are going to sign him regardless and omit O' Brien completely. Very possible but hoping for a positive outcome.

Surely there should be clearer information. I.e Registration rejected, Rovers now appealing decision. You would imagine it would get out weather it was officially rejected rather than under consideration. SSN saying Rovers are awaiting EFLs approval for what it's worth. I still have hope and I know you can't call it but I imagine if it's cut and dry they would have made their ruling and said no it wasn't submitted in time. Why it takes so long is baffling. Hard to call, if it's a case of the EFL asking for further evidence than maybe it will get the green light?

I actually did think I wonder would some PL pressure help here but highly doubt it. Forest not big enough, maybe if it was City or United that were involved.

I'm all for rules and maybe just because on this occasion it would benefit rovers but if all the evidence is there that the deal was done, most forms completed and submitted and there was an oversight given the complexity of the agreement with having to negotiate the terms of the deal maybe they should approve it and just highlight it for future windows for such deals. Hopefully there is times etc showing that the deal was done and agreed before the deadline. It's not as if the deal was tried to be sneaked through an hour or two after the deadline. Completely understand why they wouldn't approve but hopefully it's viewed as a minor issue rather than major. Find out soon enough.

I imagine if it's going as reported that he has already indicated he is interest. Surely he can't be linked all day and be reported as "edging closer" for him to just say "nah". It's clearly a runner.

Decent striker is far more difficult too find and tend to cost alot more. If you gamble on one and it doesn't pay off it's a lot more noticeable too.

He absolutely is needed. Proven top quality championship midfielder. Shocked at that, we've been as awful if not worse in midfield this season than up front.
