  1. Fancy a win today. Buckley to make amends? Goal or assist.
  2. Don't see most smiling and grinning there way through questions about their teams ability to come back in games where they go behind or trying to hide behind a "young team" narrative.
  3. Finding it increasingly difficult to listen to him. Full of wind and bluster. The answers are so vague and wishy washy. Sort it out Jon. Not good enough.
  4. Far better players with better pedigree. They were worth the gamble talent wise. This is a championship player who flatters to deceive and given our particular current situation I wouldn't be too upset to steer clear.
  5. Don't be silly, that's very far fetched...we have JRC, Britain, Pickering and Edun to play wing back 😉
  6. "Tony, Jon...would you like to field this one? The football fans need educating again"
  7. That be a great signing but unfortunately geography plays a big role these days. Imagine if he fancied staying in the area that he is exactly the type of player Tony down the road would like or maybe a move back down South. Could also see him going to Celtic or Rangers for some reason.
  8. Yeah on the fence with BBD but given the current form maybe cashing in is the right call, if the funds will be made available of course. Would keep him if we looked like we had a real shot at promotion this season but that's looking extremely fragile recently. Aware I'm probably in the minority here but I don't mind Gallagher but will conceed that all the critism he has received recently has been warranted. Seems there is a player in there by my god he does his best to hide it most of the time.
  9. Yeah I saw the propoganda going on this very thread earlier for some bizarre reason. We know he isn't the answer. Just wait and see at the end of the season the narrative will be "if he had played more or was used better we wouldn't have been where we are" etc etc. He's played his way out of the team let's not forget that. He was given the chances, not up to it end of story. I'd sell him in the morning you know that. The midfield has to be addressed by getting some presence and authority in there. Our current options are wet wipes.
  10. The thing is we should be in with a real shout for getting players in. I'm not up on the exact budget but I would assume we have a better one than at least half the teams in the division. Then you have the parachute payment boys who can still pay PL wages. They tend to go for more elite players than good or very good championship players. That leaves about 6-8 teams that we should be battling it out with to sign decent standard available championship players.
  11. When I first read this I thought "bit extreme" but as it sank in I tend to agree more and more. Assume you are banking on BBD being sold or leaving? I'd probably keep Hedges too. Would obviously keep some of the younger lads A.Wharton and Philips but yeah clear the deadwood and let the "project" really begin. Thing is, our should be fringe players are regular starters and you become desensitised to it.
  12. A combative midfielder who grafts and puts in a shift and a component specialist striker. Not a midfielder who can fill in at right back or be used on the left wing. Not a striker who can play midfielder or be used as an emergency centre back. Versatility is of course great but it seems we want EVERY signing to be able to cover a number of positions. It's not smart or realistic.
  13. I think Hedges would feature at Burnley and he seems a very SU type of player. Dolan probably not any of the above mentioned. Markanday was very impressive, lovely touch and balance, went on some nice dribbles too. Amazed we haven't seen him earlier.
  14. It looks the part on paper, we are just privvy to the shit show that goes on behind the scenes. He's the manager of a championship team in England, the best country in the world for football. He's on a sweet gig. Gimme that over Malmö anyday. He won't be on the radar of any top league teams across Europe. Championship will be his ceiling.
  15. Harsh on Hedges. He's been far better and more consistent than Buckley. Dolan been decent enough too. I'd happily have them in the team or coming on every game.
  16. Well known so unsure why they got a mention. They poach others talent without the cost of having their own academy, it was very controversial at the time.
  17. Exactly...Dack was fit and could have been utilised earlier, it wasn't a masterstroke of management to nurse him back from injury like he would have you believe. More if a case of not sure how to use him I'd say.
  18. He ain't going higher than this division in England. Maybe tail between his leg and a face saving exercise back to Scandinavia but I'd be shocked to see him get a better gig than rovers.
  19. Two chances of that I'd say...he can't believe his luck I'd say. Nice cushy manager job in England with little to no pressure. Nice salary and zero expected of him, good old laugh on the bench today and a carefree attitude. Struggles to even fake caring in interviews these days. Like alot if our recent managers they will milk this gig til the cows come home and who could blame them? Once the funds don't come and rightly or wrongly they can't improve the squad and they realise their stock or appeal is quite low, it's bunker down, cozy up to the owners once or twice a year and prop up the pension fund. Lovely jubbly.
  20. Meanwhile patronising the fans with the "sssssh leave it to the professionals" approach. You develop players in the youth team, under 23s, cup games, loans and by giving them cameos with the first team. We seem hell bent on blooding them by throwing them in at the deep end under guise of "promoting youth" and development. The reality is it is a cheap option, low wages, no fee, keeps the fans on side because you can't date question with "one of our own" isn't performing. Instead we praise average performances and convince ourselves they are better than they are. Buckley, Garrett, Travis, Vale, JRC all featuring very frequently this season. They are not up to it either right now or ever. Some are fine for coming on or being in around the squad but let's be honest they are getting game time primarily because we cheap out over and over, mismanage contracts and lose millions. Nice to have academy graduates of course and I love to see one or two breaking through. The Whartons are an example. Great to see and bags of potential. We are overly reliant on kids not because they are undeniable but because we haven't had a decent budget, investment or plan in over a decade.
  21. One question lads...what area of the pitch did all FOUR goals stem from?
  22. Time for those teams below us to close the gap now....great.
  23. You want to be some absolute clown to be on here baiting when people are pissed off watching that performance and taking off pleasure in it. Doesnt get more pathetic than that, "I'll log in and poke the lads a bit". How fucking sad.
  24. Regardless of what we do and don't have I still think he has got to do better. The definition of insanity and all that. It's like yeah we will try play this way and if it works it works and it it doesn't it doesn't...no thought to the opposition, conditions, form, opposition manager, atmosphere. It's baffling.
