Wycombe with its Rovers-supporting manager who has led his club to rock bottom of the league are losing again. Why anyone wants him to replace Mowbray is very hard to fathom
To be fair, they did end up winning the game. I agree with the sentiment though. I personally feel like we need to be looking for better, especially if we have any real ambition of getting back to the Prem.

On Pickering, I won't be judging him until I've seen him in a Rovers shirt for a spell of games. Our team is completely different to Crewe, so there's no point making comparisons other than to keep an eye on what his potential strengths and weaknesses are. He's not going to need to be mind blowing to be better than what we have at the moment.

Do we have a media team or are they all on furlough? I don't understand how this drivel is getting by them.
Really wish I hadn't watched that interview clip. I'm livid.

Based on that, I'd happily see us seeing out the season with a couple of draws (hopefully enough for survival) and a good couple of slappings, to ensure that there isn't a discussion to be had in the summer. The season is done for me, so I literally don't care how we do now as long as we stay up. Won't be paying to watch it.

Performances v Results isn't even a debate for Rovers. Both have been woeful.

I can imagine the press
"stupid , ungrateful little Blackburn Rovers fans don't know how lucky they are"
Press coverage does us no favours. We aren't looked on favourably as a club or a fan base. Not sure why, but there's definitely a vendetta against Rovers.
We literally need positive reinforcement from a big name in the game like Shearer (who's effectively 25 years removed from the club) to get any sort of support media wise.

Not going to bother reading that as the snippets posted are enough. He's got some magic rose tinted glasses on if he thinks we're playing good football. I don't understand how he can keep going back to that.

I just cant grasp why anyone would want to keep a player described as "crap," "naff" and someone who you "don't rate" under any circumstances. There is no use having a back up left back who isnt up to coming in and performing the role with competence when needed.
I dont get the argument that it is easier to do so either, that is no reason to sign him back up. It doesnt have to be the first priority, I suppose the financial argument I get a bit more, but Bell is such a low bar that even with a fairly low wage (assumed to his benefit) that we can get a less incompetent left back to compete with Pickering, just seems like such a lazy reason, especially to commit so early.
Also, Pickering is new, a young kid from League 1, if he struggles, then we have no serious alternative.
Because we're taking about a player in terms of his capabilities as a back up, rather than as a regular starter. He's shown on plenty of occasions that he can fill in OK, but he's not someone you could rely on to be a regular starter. With Pickering coming in, you would expect his time to be limited, providing Pickering is as good as people say he is/could be.
Signing Bell on again as a back up would need to be short term (i.e. 12 months) for it to even be considered an option for me. Just to tie us over whilst we see how Pickering gets on. Resource wise the cost of recruiting a new back up left back would outweigh the need to get a replacement in. Just my opinion of course.
It's key to remember that Douglas was being tipped as this leading Championship left back when we signed him and he's performed no better than Bell has. That's a lot of money spent for us just to tread water (if not regress) at the left back position.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't really mind if Bell signs a very cheap one year deal.
We need a backup LB, and whilst one or two u23s may have promise there, we can't rely on them yet as they're untested.
Yes we can find a better free agent I expect, though we had that task last summer and ended up with Douglas on loan. He isn't much better, and has probably been worse in the liability stakes at times than Bell. It's also a case of can we find one as cheaply, and more importantly for me, the fact we have a TON of recruiting to get sorted this summer and backup LB isn't high on the priority list. Getting it boxed off early frees up resources.
Yes, he is crap, before anyone tells me. He has been a bit better this season for me though, albeit still naff. Just with our situation I'm fine if we sign him on short term cheaply whilst we explore other options.
I'm also fine if he leaves.
I agree with you as well. I don't rate Bell, but it makes sense to have a cheap backup to Pickering, who we're all expecting to walk in as our no.1 left back. It would cost money we can't afford to spend to strengthen at back up left back if we let him go.
Bit gutted we didn't bring Cunningham back, instead of signing Douglas. Bit of hindsight there in terms of how Douglas has panned out but I did want Cunningham back at the time.

He was pretty sharp when asked why Travis wasn't playing
He rushed him back lauding he would "kick his granny" to win. Travis came back a shadow of himself.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was some clash
If there's any ounce of truth in it, Mowbray needs sacking just for that. I'm not having our better players getting sidelined/hounded out of the club due to his piss poor management.

Managed to get 16 right. Didn't get 3, 8 or 15.

Absolutely. A desperate need to be ITK just causes further frustration.
At least have the decency to please show where they have come from then.
Must get some badge on Twitter for circulating rumours on there.
Same for hounding journalists about 'x player' whenever someone is mentioned in here.
I've heard Damien Johnson is going to be announced at 5pm, which is just after Mowbray is meant to be canned. We're also looking to bring back Jordan Rhodes in the summer. All from a friend that I know that works within the scouting team. (Crack away lads. Completely made up but feel free to get everyone worked up about it).

It was from here and then 1 individual said he had heard the same and he's not associated with BRFCs so it's hardly spread.
It was yourself that posted something on Twitter that made out that it was gospel, except someone has now added 3pm to it. I don't see what people gain from it.
EDIT: Sorry, just seen the tweet where you also mentioned 3pm. As far as I'm aware, there was no mention of 3pm from the two users that 'broke' the rumour.

The rumour spread from here to Twitter is pretty embarrassing. It's this sort of thing that kept us linked with Marcus Maddison for four transfer windows.

Sounds like we're awful yet again. Stuck to my guns and haven't streamed it today. Any players coming out with any credit so far?

Great work. Signed.

Well, I think I'm going to sign off here for a few hours for my own sanity & go & measure up for some new blinds & then have a beer or 10.
On a lighter note, did anyone notice that all the match balls had "WW" written on them? Made me chuckle, it's like amateur clubs playing down the park on a Sunday making sure they get their balls back.
Anyway, TTFN.
You do right mate. I'm on the vodka and I can't stand the stuff.

I'm not buying any more match passes this season after that. If the game is on SKY I'll give it a watch but they've done nothing to deserve any more of my money, especially as our season is now run.
Mowbray needs to go, with the new manager given this last set of games to work out who is worth keeping and who needs to be moved on. As a fan base, we already know the answers to those questions to a certain degree. The clowns running the club don't seem to have a clue.

I'm not watching today, but I witnessed some putrid displays this season. Even in games we won, like Rotherham
I've watched every game and this is desperate. They're not even capable of making 5 yard passes. I've seen better forward play in the terrible 5 a side games I play in.

I'd like to see him played further upfield. He's not a FB.
I'd argue that he'd be a waste of a body further upfield.

It's been like that pretty much all season , barring a the first maybe 11 games
Although it has been bad throughout the season, this is arguably the worst we've been given the opposition we're playing. We're making them look good and they are shocking. Trybull has probably been our best player so far and he's been guilty of missing a 3 yard header.

Painful watch so far. Looks like they've never played football before.

Yes, both. Obviously iFollow if you want HD and replays, 'free' if you've bought your ST, £10 otherwise. Red button if you don't mind SD and no replays and don't want to pay your hard earned tenner to watch another defeat.
My favourite website, by the way, for checking out literally any football available on the box on all major platforms:
Cracking recommendation. Thanks.

Tony Mowbray Discussion
in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Posted · Edited by RoverKyle
This rhetoric that we had to acclimatise to the Championship after promotion is a load of bull. We only ended up in L1 as our team massively underperformed under a hopeless manager (Coyle). The squad was more than capable of playing in the Championship, as evidenced by our decent form under Mowbray, before we went down. Throwing away the chance to win L1 at the end of the season was all on Mowbray and for me was the start of dumbing down fan expectations.
I'd have kicked him out of the club a season or two ago when he made out that we needed to be worried about Preston. A game in which we went 2 up and ended up losing 3-2. That was my final straw but I will admit he bought himself some time with me last summer when he seemed to be building something. It's his negative mindset though that obviously flows down to the players and we see it every season in our dire spells after January.
This journey that we're apparently on will only have a positive outcome if we replace Mowbray this summer with someone more capable and ambitious. We can't give him another window to waste resources and the opportunity for us to improve.
