I’m no physio but I believe if the lower leg has a certain lack of movement it can only be ACL. You need the MRI to confirm it, but it’s always the case.

Yeah, they do a relatively simple test by moving your leg and checking resistance in the knee. At the hospital they knew straight away with a good degree of confidence that it was the ACL. Only ended up having an MRI a month or so after to check for secondary damage & that confirmed it.

I did mine in August 2019 & was lucky to be back playing casual 5 aside by January 2020. Only had a couple of months easing back in before covid hit. Just walking the dog & walking around the house I can get aches & pains in both knees. Doing the ACL in both knees is going to really limit his playing career. Feel so bad for him.

Nah not for me. I've considered his ball-winning a weakness until now, due to his light weight, easily knocked off the ball, lacking aggression approach. Now he is applying himself in terms of aggression and being braver, he is winning the ball well too.

Game of opinions. Agree to disagree. He's starting to perform better overall & winning us the ball, which is all that matters.

For clarity, I agree he's lightweight.

Nah I'd say that's a relatively recent development as far as his first team performances go. The last two games in fact. The odd patch aside.

May not have happened at the rate we've seen in the last two games, but it was apparent even from his cameo appearances to date that it's a strength of his.

  4. The one thing Buckley does well, even when he's underwhelmed, is knicking the ball back. We really saw that at the forefront last night alongside his obvious technical ability. His decision making was just much, much better tonight. Pleased for him. Hopefully he can kick on in the way that Travis did when he properly started to get starts.

Would be interesting to see what Norwich want for Trybull next year given they’re going up.
I can only really recall one bad game and that’s when Mowbray had him playing as the most attacking midfielder (was either Swansea away or Boro at home, can’t remember which one).

Johnson will be 34 next season, and we know we need to move Evans on.
Trybull will be final year of his contract but I’d be interested if we can get him for <£1m with others off the books. He has already been promoted from this league once (nobody else in our team can say that next season)

He's a really good player. I'd love to see him signed up to replace Evans.

  6. The standard of refereeing in the Championship is an absolute disgrace. That's one of the best halves of football I've seen us play this season. A couple of blips from Douglas aside, they've all looked good. Really not sure how Brereton hasn't won a penalty at the start there. And the Swansea penalty is a disgrace. Their player is already going down from no contact when Sam swipes a leg out (which even from a couple of replays, I'm not convinced even touches the player).

Please can you remove that profile pic, it’s depressing me even further. That team eh, literally none of the whole 25 man squad we have now would even get on the bench of that promotion winning side, none of them.

Haha it's an ode to better times. They'll come round again. Just not under this management.

  8. What I really don't like about the injuries narrative is that we've had injuries all season and managed to stay within play off contention until recently. Always felt we were doing well in spite of a couple of key men missing (e.g. Dack, Travis, plus smaller injuries to players that regularly start).

Mowbray now isn't getting the best out of the players that were doing well earlier in the season. It's very worrying and even more so that the seemingly social media element of our fan base can't see this. We aren't even playing good football, so this rhetoric about our journey is just frustrating. He's completely lost his way and needs replacing before he drags us down any further.

  9. I thought Trybull was our best player when he came on against Coventry & deserved his start yesterday. Granted he didn't do a lot with his chance but then again that's been a theme of our season. I think he's a slight improvement on Evans, who has flattered to deceive in his time with us. As for some of the names being mentioned as being better than Trybull, I've needed a laugh this morning 👍

I am an idiot. I have definitely paid for Ifollow at least once where the game was on sky red button. Must get onto swag for a refund

I did earlier in the season and just requested a refund from ifollow as soon as I realised. As long as you don't watch the stream, they have no issue with the request. Had the money back within the week.

Club’s make mistakes. However, most other clubs step in in good time when it’s obvious it isn’t working out - be it an inexperienced coach or a manager with years of management under his belt.

Indeed, even in the ‘good old days’, Jack and John Williams made errors or had underperforming managers - and they usually (perhaps Souness went on slightly too long, but he had a stellar track record with us to fall back on) got rid and replaced before it was too late.

In this present day vacuum it all just staggers on and on.

I don't think I ever got the impression we moved Souness on because he was underperforming. Wasn't he poached by Newcastle?

  12. I'm not sure I could stomach Wagner after what he did at Huddersfield (rotated out his whole team against a hapless Birmingham, who won to effectively relegate us to L1). I don't care that they were already in the playoffs and that we ultimately weren't good enough to stay up across the whole of the season. Those sort of antics shouldn't occur in professional sport.

pearson is an aggresive fellow as he was an aggresive player, there would be no slow build with him, sadly he would`nt work with the current behind the scenes set up,he`d be wanting to jettison at least half the squad within a week of arriving and if he could`nt do it his way,he`d be off, kind of like a lambert situation but more violent

    It wouldn't be boring though.
