  1. If Craig Dawson is interested, get him in. Solid defender and plenty of experience at a higher level. I suspect his wage demands will be higher than what we're offering.
  2. Mowbray received an honour cap as part of the 150th anniversary.
  3. I've got a knee that requires surgery and even I'm getting the ball into the box. To effectively lose a game from that is one of the worst things I've seen at Ewood. Like others have said though, it's not even surprising. We've thrown away so many points through the years in the dying moments of games.
  4. Casual is exactly what I've been saying after the game. Wasn't impressed with him at all. He'll need to improve if he's going to be a starter. Will be interesting to see who they bring in to replace Travis.
  5. I think that's genuinely our best option at the moment. Keep it tight at the back with 5 but with legs out wide that can hopefully push us up the pitch quickly on the break. Absolutely pointless playing attacking wingers when we don't have any. Two up front to give the CBs something to think about for a change. Middle of the pitch (Tronstad, Tavares, Cantwell) looks like our strongest area - at least on paper - so set the team up around them and hope we can play it about a bit.
  6. Yeah, I definitely wouldn't say Yuki broke down. He was near enough assaulted in most games. I thought he seemed really durable and wouldn't be surprised if he played through a few knocks last season.
  7. Thanks to all who engaged with the Carter question with logic. We've been owned by these cretins for long enough to know that anyone with any value is up for sale if a bid comes in. There's supposed Prem interest. I can't really divulge anymore as the info/source was way too specific.
  8. How much do we think we'd realistically get for Carter if he was sold?
  9. If we can get him into positions where he can get on the end of Brittain's crosses, he would be lethal. As others have alluded to, he's showing a lot more than Gallagher ever did for us.
  10. Regarding Carlisle and their new owners, your statement isn't true at all unfortunately. They took over in December last year when they were in League 1. Their first priority was to keep them in the league and then hopefully push on. They came bottom in League 1 last season and they currently sit bottom of League 2, odds on to drop out of the Football League for the first time in a long time. I'm from Cumbria and a couple of my best mates are Carlisle fans, so I follow what's going on there pretty closely. They are absolutely livid with the way things have panned out.
  11. I fall in to a couple of the options (price, location, not able to get to enough games) but ultimately voted No Chance. It's just been one bit of mismanagement after another for half of my supporting life and there's never any learnings taken or genuine improvements made. I'm not blindly shelling out for incompetence anymore; times are tough at the moment and priorities shift. I'm down to about 4 games a season now and can't see that trending upward until we have new owners in charge.
  12. Really like the look of that. Think I've seen enough of Ribeiro to think he'd be decent at LCB as well if required. Would help us to slot in Beck at LWB.
  13. Love this post; thank you. As you've pointed out, that fixture run gets trickier later in the season. We need to pick up the results now, making a swift (& appropriate) appointment even more critical.
  14. Even when he wasn't scoring, he was still affecting games. Unbelievable in the air in both boxes and he's got good feet for a big lad. Really like the look of him. Unplayable tonight in a massive game.
  15. Kargbo could be anything but at least he looks to have a bit of pace. Our team is so one paced, so it would be nice to have a different option. He looks particularly quick on the highlight videos on YouTube of him playing for Sierra Leone. Certainly not excited by this one though.
  16. Yes, anyone that used to play for Middlesbrough.
  17. Can't see how this would be possible given he's supposedly on more than triple what we offer our high earners. Would be a quality signing though.
  18. I went triple captain. Very pleased with myself.
  19. Except worse. When Chapman was fit during his first spell with us, he was electric.
  20. Brilliant to have football back and absolutely chuffed with the win. Thought our back 4 looked good generally and they'll only improve with a better keeper behind them. Their first goal was a really impressive header but their second goal was poor. Signing a new GK should be the priority before the next league game. Saw enough from the new boys to feel like they'll be good options this season and a step above what we had available last season. Gueye's hold up play was good & played others in well. Ohashi was busy and took his goal really well. Weimann is the sort of signing we've cried out for for years. Took his goal well and was good in possession. Keeping Szmodics could be the thing that tips us from being a good Championship side to a playoff contender with a bit of luck. If he goes, they need to reinvest some of the funds into the squad. From that initial showing, there's a lot to get behind and the makings of a decent team.
  21. I think that was Adam Owen. One of the heads of.
  22. I was literally thinking the same thing this morning and wasn't sure where I'd seen/heard it.
  23. Really happy with the signing of Weimann and our flurry of activity in general. It was needed but I certainly didn't expect it. GK should be the absolute priority before we play Derby.
