  1. Could someone post the article in here please. I haven't got a login for the LET.
  2. Why, what was the situation around that? I loved him at Rovers.
  3. Sad state of affairs isn't it. I'm really trying to get excited for the new season but the lack of activity and paper thin squad just screams relegation trouble. We always get hit with injuries so the situation will only get worse from where it stands now. For what it's worth I'd like us to be looking at Rhys Williams at Liverpool, Dewsbury-Hall at Leicester, Thomas Doyle at City and Anthony Elanga, Hannibal Mejbri & James Garner from United.
  4. Given the lack of transfer rumours, potential lack of funds for any permanent signings and just general malaise in here, I'm going to try and start up a conversation about potential signings... Who do people feel like we should be targeting on loan from these so called big Premier League clubs?
  5. In regards to the comments about Armstrong looking disinterested. I agree, but I always get that feeling from him anyway. He's not someone that seems to smile much.
  6. I massively agree with this. He was reportedly on £23k per week. We wouldn't have been offering those wages, whereas West Brom may have done. We could use that money better.
  7. Probably harsh to make solid calls on anyone at this stage of the season. If you do the same based on our friendly results so far, we're anything from L1 strugglers (edged by Fylde & lost to Bradford) to mid table in the Premier League (decent draw against Leeds). Give the lads 10 games in the Championship, then we can start drawing early conclusions on the team & individuals.
  8. Regarding the speculation around an outgoing player, no sign of Rothwell or Chapman in the latest Rovers Backstage video where they're prepping for Leeds.
  9. It's not a bad return either, especially considering they weren't all starts. Anyway the point was that Sheffield Wednesday made him look worse than he'd been anywhere else. The original point still stands.
  10. He scored plenty when Middlesbrough were promoted. It was in the Premier League where he got limited game time and scored no goals. My point was that Sheffield Wednesday became a bit of a graveyard for formerly decent players. Might be a bit harsh to instantly write people off that have played there in recent years i.e. Reach.
  11. The same Sheffield Wednesday that made Rhodes look like he couldn't score goals at Championship level.
  12. Macron have done a really good job with the shirts. Definitely buying the away one as long as it isn't skin tight.
  13. This is so depressing to read but you're obviously spot on. It's something a well managed club could overcome but ours is being run into the ground.
  14. Grabbi was awful. Rochina was class and mismanaged. Look at their careers post Rovers. Brereton has shown neither Grabbi's Serie B goal scoring form or Rochina's fleeting moments of brilliance in the Prem & Championship.
  15. Think you're spot on with that. You can potentially sign better players than you could afford to bring in permanently via the loan market. If that strengthens the team & the squad, then I don't see an issue with it. The issue is when you turn to loans as the go to, instead of promoting your own youth (when they are potentially good enough) or signing someone permanently who could make an impact and be an asset to the club. To be fair though, in recent times we've done quite well with the quality of loan players we've brought in.
  16. Andre Gray is reportedly on £70k a week. How is that even being floated as a possibility?? I'd have him though.
  17. Big ask but it would go some way to covering up our lack of depth.
  18. Oh I fully agree it won't happen under Mowbray. He's had so long to sort it out. It's just what we should be doing. For what it's worth, I liked what I saw of Ayala when he played. He just never plays. We're on for a hiding if we're relying on him being fit and one our main centre backs.
  19. For me the work needs to start at the back. If we concede less, we won't need to directly replace 28 goals if/when Armstrong leaves. As you say injury concerns right across the squad. Galling to be continuously told that we're building something, yet one glance at the squad now and you could comfortably say its the most depleted of numbers and quality we've had since Mowbray joined.
  20. That's just for an analyst job. I don't get the point you or the article are trying to make.
  21. All I can see on Wyke is that he's in talks with Celtic. Not seen much of him to be honest but I know he's been handy enough in the lower leagues. My Carlisle supporting mates rated him. Didn't realise he had done so well last season for Sunderland.
