  1. Can't add much to what has already been said on here. So proud of the team today. Kept their heads after the sending off and took their chance when it came. I'm absolutely knackered after watching that. I was kicking every ball with them and probably haven't celebrated two goals sat at home more.

Important that we back this up with 3 points against Bristol midweek.

    Re: Gallagher

It's worth noting where he's run from to win the penalty. He's about 20 yards inside his own half when the ball is played. 6 seconds later he's being brought down in the box. Fantastic determination and pace - but even better for the fact he's had to take a couple of touches with the ball (from just inside their half) and managed to get his body across the defender to draw the foul. Great forward play.

I was really impressed with him last night and this piece of play in particular was brilliant. He looks like he's got a point to prove and he's starting to show a bit of what he can do. Thought he was unlucky to have his goal ruled out. He did everything you want from a central striker; being in the right position, getting across his man and applying the finishing touch. Just a shame that Douglas was offside.

  3. If he's kept his fitness up, I'm all for this. Injuries/illness seems to be hitting us hard at the moment. He's an asset in the squad providing we don't shoe horn him in centre midfield again (the experiment didn't work). He was arguably our best player before Christmas and he actually keeps hold of the ball, which plenty of our players don't seem to be able to do at the moment.

Yup. Wharton looked really out of his depth yesterday.

Does anyone know if Douglas has got much pace on him? With Ayala and Johnson not being the quickest and the high line we play were going to need a bit of pace there.

The comments at the time of his signing suggested that Douglas lacked pace.

Looks like Swansea have signed Ryan Manning for 250k. Why didnt Mowbray sign him instead of Doulgas who I like we signed btw even tho I am concerned over his injury record.

It's really annoying that he's gone for that cheap, considering we appear to have been put off by a  potentially higher asking price. Pleased with the Douglas signing but this would've been a good longer term option.

I meant 6 players for the front 3 positions. My apologies.

Armstrong, Dolan, Brereton, Dack, Gallagher, Chapman were the 6 options I was talking about. Now we have Elliott.

    Me being negative? ?

    Thanks for the comments

Yeah, fair play. That's a good amount of depth though. Considering Dolan & Chapman are the only natural wingers, it's good that we've brought in a 3rd option that's arguably better than both.

What a busy transfer deadline day for Rovers. 4 in and 2 out.

Trybull I dont know much about him tbh..is he ball winning midfielder or passing one?

Douglas is a good signing. Worried about his injuries but hopefully that does happen here.

Elliott. Isn't he a left footed winger who played on the right wing? Surprise we gone for a winger tbh considering the 6 options already we got.

Signing Pears maybe sense now Fisher gone. Fisher needed to leave and play somewhere. Hopefully that happens now for him

Intrigued to know who our existing 6 options for the wing are.

Surely you can top Mercer's £150 @ 13-2? And from memory, that's for promotion. Think really big; and who knows, you might be able to buy the club from our owners!??

I've just lumped on us to finish top 6 at 9/4. It's been a brilliant window but I'm not sure I trust us to get promoted ?

Is a 17-year-old going to be picked over Holtby, Johnson, Rothwell, Travis (when fit), the Norwich lad, and all the other experienced midfield players on the books?

I don't think so....unless Liverpool have a clause in the deal guaranteeing him game time.

You've just named a series of players that don't play in the same position as him. He's an attacking midfielder and primarily plays on the wing. So he's going to be challenging Brereton, Dolan, Chapman & Gallagher (if we persist in playing him out wide) for a starting spot.

Sorry, I don't make a habit of watching Liverpool's Carabao Cup games or under 23 matches. Must try harder I suppose.

He wasn't a name on anyone's lips yesterday though unless I missed it.........

I don't think anyone was expecting him to be available. Shaqiri by all accounts was expected to leave, which would've meant Elliott staying within the first team squad at Liverpool.

Why does everyone think Harvey Elliott is amazing? He has a handful of senior appearances, I don’t don’t know anything about the lad but surely can’t make big statements on seeing maybe 2 or 3 matches in the league cup

I've not seen a lot of him myself but I live in Liverpool and he's really well thought of with their fans. Trains with the first team and was expected to be challenging for minutes this season, albeit most likely in cup games. It's a great move for him to get more game time (assuming he's good enough to oust our current options).
