We just don't have the squad to keep this style of football going when energy levels drop and I think we're going to see another drop off going into the new year. Problem is, we're much closer to peril than last year and I can see us getting dragged into a relegation battle.
Love JDT and he's limited in what he has, but he needs to start adapting.

Bottle merchants. Something seriously wrong with this squad at the moment
-
The only teams who have lost more than us are the teams in the bottom three. Another season where JDT, as good as the football can be, has shown a complete and total inability keep games close.
Some of the worst performances of my lifetime have come under his tenure, which is frustrating because we can be so good.

3-0 to Callum Brittain's stupidity.
Don't be silly, we haven't got close to them at all. The red didn't help, but we were never getting a point. Another game where we haven't even attempted to play.

It could be worse, you could be a PNE fan. 1-4 at home to Watford now.
Let's see what happens when they visit next week before gloating!

The amount of times we seem to just flat out not bother is infuriating.

Yet another defeat. It's extremely worrying that we have a complete inability to do anything other than win or lose with this team, but JDT has been left to patch together out of squads from misfits and youth talent and with the injury list the options are limited.
That said, I'd love to know how this treading water is supposed to do anything for us. We can sell some players off but that won't be reinvested properly and we can already see that the U21s we have can't compete because all their best players are in the first team.
In the longer term the only way is down with such a lack of ambition.

At the end of the day we lose far too many games to ever realistically challenge for promotion. Management are happy to let us tread water and eventually it will bite us. Utterly depressing.

JDT has an appalling record in our derby games so far, let's hope for a change in fortune tonight!

He might be. If the question is “who could we bring in as a downgrade on Pears?”
Is he a downgrade? They're both just awful in different ways I'd say

So we're in November and we still don't have a fit and/or capable striker. It's beyond a joke at this point how bad the recruitment process is.

He's only new of course but the new keeper really isn't doing us any favours. Letting TK go was arguably more damaging than not getting a striker in.

Get ennis or Telalovic on ..can't be worse then this
I think the fact that neither of them ever seem anywhere near the first team says a lot about how well they're rated as signings.

My Swansea supporting colleague will love this. Yet another game where we haven't even bothered turning up, could easily be 3 or 4 already.

Look a total shambles at the back again, thought we had got past this
When you only shop around in discount bins for players (or relying on kids) it's highly unlikely you'll do anything.
We will never reach playoffs with the current regime in charge.

None of this is on JDT. He is trying to play an attacking style of play. We have played some very good attractive football so far this season.
Today's defeat is on a ref who gave a legit goal then bottled it when a linesman supposedly saw a foul
woah, Why am I'm not surprised by people turning on JDT already. I would stick with JDT, he is build a squad playing a good style of football and entertain the fans
Yeah, good football isn't entertaining in the slightest if you lose every game and get relegated. Just ask Owen Coyle.

We are just above the drop zone.
Sunderland are firmly in run for the playoffs.
We can forget about the playoffs this season. We're dire at both ends of the pitch and that is 100% at Venky's door. Though Broughton's signings have been largely pointless as well.

This team is in a relegation fight, and I don't think any of the have the cajones for it

Can see JDT walking blaming the owners if this continues.
Broughton/Waggott with more huge questions - yes we signed players but if they can't come into the team because they're either not good enough or permanently injured we'd have been better off not signing everyone.
Absolutely sick of this era of the club - I'd consider League Two football for a bit if it meant getting competent owners who gave a damn.

He has an England u21 defender on the bench and plays that dolloper Carter.
He should have had an experienced CB to play there instead of another U21, but our management structure/owners are amateur at best.

Awesome... so we get rid of one of the best keepers in the league so we're now left with 2 duds. Fan-flipping-tastic

Shades of Coyle's Rovers at the moment. JDT has a lot of benefit from the doubt from the fan base but how many more batterings before that changes?

Adam Wharton totally off the boil at the moment.
Was always going to happen. It's easy to forget how young he is and it's rare that players that age maintain performances over a long run of games. Could do with a rest but who do you even replace him with?

I'm sorry but that's nonsense, Pears is just as much a liability. We're heading exactly where we belong with our owners cost cutting plan and if we do drop in the next couple of seasons there will be no way back this time.
