  1. Surely a striker is our number one priority, we need someone who is all about goals more than anything else imo.
  2. Id take Dolan over Cantwell. Dolan is so frustrating but at least can sometimes beat his man, puts in the odd good ball, and works his nuts off. Cantwell i am just so confused about what he offers. With Gueye looking to come short and Cantwell having no desire to get beyond Big Mak they are really poorly matched as a pair. Feels to me like Cantwell isnt going to work out. Id almost look to see if we could convert him to a centre mid as he works against us in that number 10 role slowing the game down and showing very little offensive movement. But i don't think hes got the discipline for centre mid either. Really struggling to see where Todd fits in.
  3. Really hope he is a genuine pace merchant. Someone with pace getting on the end of Geyes flick ons and on the breaks we are pretty good at putting together could make a massive difference. Cantwell, Leonard, Dolan, Hedges and Wiemann just dont have the speed to make the most of our style.
  4. Sky commentary said there were a group there but didnt put a number on it.
  5. Out of curiosity how is it woke?? Some icelandic rovers fans doing the clap, im all for it! Was there a real contingent at the game??
  6. Loving Sutton getting his own section at the end here to wax on about the prem winning season... Hes obviously still a fan
  7. Hes got a mistake in him, and had some real howlers in previous seasons, but I dont think Potts goal today can be blamed on him. Hes had a lot of games this season where he has made a lot of good saves. I certainly wouldn't be putting Toth in from what Ive seen. Not just me - think Pears average rating on here is pretty good this year.
  8. Dunno... Travis has gone from a solid Championship performer to one of the very best midfielders in the division. Hyam and Pears also completely transformed.
  9. Preston were all over us last 15 mins but thought most of the second half we were completely in control.
  10. Id say he js our number 2 shithouse after Trav.
  11. Not in any way intentional but I guess the way the rules have evolved you are expected to not endanger an opponent. It was very dangerous... Would be interesting to hear.arbitiro's view as a former ref
  12. Rovers Icelandic fans according to the sky commentary
  13. Have we hired an arsenal style set piece coach or something? Our corners after years of being shit have suddenly been a lot better recently.
  14. Really want to see something from Cantwell here
  15. Him and Buckley have bossed it. They work well as a pair.
  16. Terrible final ball but hes put a massive shift in
  17. Gueye's genuine quality... Pretty sure in a year or so hes going to be worth a lot of money...
  18. I think im pretty okay with everything about how we play except our dreadful finishing.
  19. Watched the Bristol game back and while we created a decent amount of chances I'm not that convinced by the three at the back, seemed very vulnerable down the flanks - don't think Hyam and Sanderson have the mobility required in the wide CB role. I would probably go back to the 4231. Pears Brittain Batth Hyam Beck Travis Buckley Dolan Cantwell Weiman Gueye I am hoping a week out and a bit of self reflection and we will see a better version of Cantwell. We really need to win this one.
  20. Watched the game back... thought it was a very even game, should have been a point a piece probably. Both defenses looked pretty dodgy, and not a lot of quality in midfield or up front from either side. Not sure I'd stick with the three at the back as we looked more vulnerable. Main positive is given the injuries and fatigue I expected us to get hammered so to be edged out was better than that. And the set pieces seem to be improving. I think looking to play it deep and then heading back across goal is causing some big issues for the opposition defence. Need to keep working on that.
  21. We will be relatively well rested, not actually been playing that badly, at home, and will have Travis back so we really have to and should expect to win this one. If we dont we've got big problems.
  22. Never say never... look at Hirst, Telelovic etc. Wouldn't mind seeing him getting a crack partnering Gueye up top. Classic little and large! But obviously just a curiosity, not relevant to who we need to sign now!
  23. With Hirst and Telelovic we seem to have not been able to get the best out of them... Pretty rare for that to happen at Rovers but both looked absolutely awful for us, but have gone on well. Remember Kalinic another who had a fantastic career post rovers after looking mediocre for us.
  24. Personally i prefer that he isnt a supporter as he gives a bit of an outside view. Theres plenty of fan content out there, not least on here, for that.
