  1. Yes but what about St James, Darwen and Sudell Road School Darwen etc....do they not qualify similarly too? I get the reasoning and rationale but surely it should be about integration and equality......this policy does not sit right with me but I understand the reasons for doing it. It's either integration, equality or it's not.
  2. Sentence 1, categorically no but you knew that already (I hope). Sentence 2, I thought today's turnout was poor and would have been much better attended had it been appropriately priced as an individual match, planned and marketed weeks in advance.
  3. A lot of good points on here but also a lot of nonsense....understandably though, I get that. I know it's an old cliché but please, for the greater good, all just get behind the lads between now and the seasons end, irrespective. It's very important and would countermand whatever else may still be in place...read into that whatever you will. WE ARE The Rovers!!!
  4. What about a 'Summerfest' and Play Off Bundle, incorporating Boy George, Human League and a trip to Wembley?😜
  5. The ref bounced a ball once and he didn't like the bounce of the ball. The snow that had been cleared off the pitch was too close to where the linesmen run up and down the touchline. That was it at 2.15pm!......ludicrous decision. The snow aside the touchline could have been cleared further in 10 minutes and the remaining snow on the pitch within 20. I spoke to one of our players at about 4pm, before he went home shaking his head and his comment was "the pitch would have taken a long stud, no lying water, what more can I say?"
  6. No "doh"! The decision to postpone was a complete nonsense by the referee and NOBODY saw the snow coming! The pitch was perfectly playable and at 3.30pm Scott Wharton shook his head in disbelief and told me the pitch would take a long stud......go figure! Ridiculous decision!.....
  7. If only PVH could find another header similar to the one at Bournemouth from the boot of Ryan Giles! 🙏
  8. Welcome back chaddy, where've ya bin? In other news, there will be 5 lads who have flown in from Chile for the game against Millwall. They were obviously hoping to see Ben in action but his ankle injury has put paid to that. I believe that they will be in Blues Bar before the match, have seats arranged in The Riverside and have been welcomed in to corporate areas after the game for a 'sherbet' or two. It's a hell of a commitment from them and they'll be welcomed with open arms by all of us I'm sure.
  9. As an alternative to the way that we generally play, I'd have taken a punt on Jordan Rhodes. Thinking about Ryan Giles and Swansea in particular, he'd have filled his boots in South Wales. Anyway, it is what it is, and I hope Dolan is back buzzing about as he does best tomorrow with Bucko and Rothwell in more advanced roles than of late, picking up the pieces and driving on. Sneaking feeling that Dacky may be on the bench tomorrow too!
  10. Lucas Neil would be buggered these days! I don't care what anyone says, football was a much better spectacle when it was both more physical and competitive.
  11. Aye, days of the sliding tackle, when a fullback could legitimately relish a wet surface and shunt a winger onto the running track to throw down a marker early in a game, without fear of recriminations! 😉
  12. A couple of groundstaff have this evening told me that the pitch looks fabulous and is in great condition. Unless The Riverside blows down, the game is in no danger of being postponed whatsoever.
  13. I feel that what is generally forgotten, we are a football club first and foremost, BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB. (yeh stating the bleeding obvious, I know, but perhaps forgotten in management thought processes!) Whilst it's all very well and good trying various income streams aside of football, admirable in fact, they should focus first and foremost on supporters. Present, wavering and potential customers and once all has been done to maximise that, then look to other areas of revenue and NOT before. Why this concept has not been grasped, god only knows! Perhaps it comes from the school of thought of appointing Owen Coyle as manager, it defies logic and understanding. Communication and foresight is also dire.....proper engagement a must! I'm frustrated, still determined and.....we're still third in the table! COYB!!!
  14. ...or is 'failure' of said scheme a misconceived, pre-determined plan? Announcement only 9 days prior to the fixture, restricted to a part of the ground closed to home fans for 4 years, part of a ' bundle' which never works. Would it not have been better to have said at Christmas: Millwall on 19th February, QPR on 26th February, Darwen End, Riverside, Blackburn End & Jack Walker Lower £15 adults, £5 kids.?? Fecking no brainer!
  15. Brotherhood of Man - Save Your Kisses For Me (Sorry!😂) Before I'm done by t'police for a triplicate post.... Chuck Berry - Johnny B Goode
  16. In a similar way, in a bit later era and in my capacity of being involved in logistics and distribution, I recall a delivery of green sand to BWFC when 'The Reebok' already resembled Southport Beach! Rovers current groundstaff are all as 'die in the wool' Rovers' fans as you or I and take a particular pride, despite the issues chucked in their way, of the state of the Ewood Park pitch and those at the STC and Academy. They do not get the credit that they deserve IMO.
  17. Ok, I'll direct it at 13 to 18 year olds...you label it as you wish! It's imperative that we as a club, encourage and harness support from this generation of lads and lasses, who may be hard work (it was forever thus!). Recognise that the potential IS there and do something about it ROVERS!!!
  18. The darwen end will be full saturday at £15 a ticket, I like your 'optimism' but sadly, very much doubt it.
  19. I don't entirely disagree....it's in need of an upgrade after 30 years. However, point in question is the game will be on and the pitch is in pristine condition and that is from 2 individuals who look after it!
  20. I think we all need to chill out tbh and take stock of where we still are. Despite the fact that we haven't scored for 4 games, we're still 3rd. I'd argue with anyone, with an opinion in August 2021, that we'd be third in the league in mid February, that they would have said I was deluded...but that's where we're at! As a club, no things still aren't right but IMO they are heading in the right direction. We've 7 home games to go before the end of the season (plus 1 more if we finish in the top 6), rather than moan from an armchair, get on Ewood. If the statement doesn't apply, then hopefully you'll fully endorse my sentiments. As BRFC, we were always traditionally as one, my hopes and aspirations are that we'll get there again! I'd much rather be sat where 'we' are than be a dingle........food for thought!
  21. Absolutely deadly serious 'Bart'! Ewood Park TODAY! All fill yer boots for £12.50 in The Darwen End........absolutely no way will the game be postponed as a consequence of Storm Edith! It's been cut today and well prepared as a consequence of 'Verti Drain'....GAME WILL BE ON, FACT!!!
  22. Well control "the razz" FFS!.....someone? Don't chuck the baby out with the bath water, we need bums on seats and all Rovers together! Were we not all kids once, and once in a blue moon needed keeping in check?....Sorry but I will never stop giving a kindly curly finger wherever necessary (IMO) but that perhaps is just me.....
  23. JHC, the pitch is pristine! The chances of the game being called off because of the pitch are ZERO!
