Brilliant news really and as already stated, it shows the previous regime, were missing a trick. If the manager was advising non playing staff to move on, then perhaps he was also reluctant to persuade players that Ewood was the place for them.
Thank goodness that’s now in the past.

Sharpe seems confident it's done.
Interesting that and sounds very promising. Does anyone know what the new compensation rules are? Perhaps that’s a step in the right direction too.

Today it was bullies V Faries and the bullies won. It’s a shame we played they way we did, as Luton are a one trick pony and we simply played into their hands. Very poor today, all round.

I think the bloke at Bolton is one to watch for the future.
The Bolton fans hated him initially. I think he is doing a decent job and has galvanized them now.

From what I've heard, JDT subscribes to the Brian Clough idea (I think it was) that running with the ball is a hell of a lot slower than passing it accurately. I'm sure he said in one post match interview that we were running with the ball too much.
Of course it's exciting when a player drives on and commits midfielders but it's not always the most effective strategy for a CM.
There is more ways of skinning a cat and all that and if we keep on skinning them, I am happy to play with no player running at the defence.
Some great passing and moving in a few games so far and I do enjoy that type of football.

The noises from Cov suggest Hyam didn't push for a move at all, and that the club almost foisted it on him. Meanwhile, Lenihan was very much wanted here but decided he wanted to be elsewhere. Funny how differently their form and fortune has been, you'd expect it the other way round based on whether they got what they wanted (I worried Hyam might not be motivated here but it doesn't seem to be the case).
Hyam certainly celebrated his goal like he wanted to be here. I get the impression, this is a team that look after each other and will have welcomed him with open arms. Very happy with him so far.

Good to see this happening. I know we had the odd one (Travis) under Mowbray, but is this a coincidence that we are getting the youngsters tied down, especially when you hear of the previous manager, recommending other clubs to his colleagues?

What would happen if you came out with a statement like that in an everyday job ? You’d be looking for a another job at this moment.
That's exactly what I was just thinking. Imagine working for a major employer and you head hunted one of your esteemed colleagues for a rival firm.
Surely this is market manipulation.

If I was in charge at Sunderland I read this, I would dismiss him immediately. If he can do that once, he can do it again. Imagine if Boro want one of their players, or a member of staff, or even a nice comfortable victory, can he be trusted to act in the best interests of the club who pay his wages?
This needs reporting to the powers that be, as it is as close to manipulation and abuse of power as you can get and is corporate negligence in my view.

Clarets match tonight is postponed. I suspect all Saturdays games will be too.

Has Dan Pike even playing for under 21 and did he feature in pre season?
Mola can play left back, centre back and centre mid
Good for filling in then.

For those who have made their predictions, I will post a results page on Sunday. Anyone else who wants to have a go, are most welcome. All in the name of fun and nothing to lose.

Micky is a really lovely bloke. Hard as fucking nails and deadly with free kicks on the edge of the box. Howard Kendall loved him.
Paul another great lad. Sadly passed away at a young age. Was fond of a Leavers pie or two (as well as a few pints). Those last two sentences may be connected ...
I remember a Speight goal V Sheffield Wednesday that was on TV. Being a Sheffield lad and a blade, he was made up and was beaming broadly when they interviewed him on the TV post match.

Allowing more assets to run their contracts down isn't a sustainable way for a Championship club with our resources to develop and grow.
The signs are there with the Buckley extended deal last week, that we are protecting our assets a bit better.
Hopefully Greg was brought in to address that as well as bringing in new players too.

WLWL etc is frustrating but iv'e always thought it's better than draw draw draw and celebrating the 'unbeaten' run.
It's clearly going to be one of those seasons so to hear some people throwing in the towel already is a bit pathetic to say the least.
Absolutely.
Three draws in a row and 1 win and two defeats, yields the same points tally, but if feels horrible losing the two. Obviously like every other football fan, I hate my team losing, but with a win on Saturday, I will be content with the start.

Perhaps we should start a predict the championship results thread.

Ashley Phillips - signs a new deal

Interesting especially that Nayambe didn’t get a signing on fee. Players certainly take a chance when turning down the offer of a new deal down and clearly they sometimes backfire.
