Just trying to drum up a bit of interest as its not on TV (although it is apparently on foreign channels). Not trying to be judgmental at all Mike.

It is only on a channel based in Israel, which is an encrypted channel.

None of us can match that gaffer, but did you achieve all that as part of teams that played the way you are trying to instil in us?

    No.

As I have previously said, give the hod carrier the job of building the wall and you will see a disaster.

We simply do not have the players to do what the manger wants, so he needs to accept that and change it.

Pathetic effort. Seems to me all the focus is on the sustainable part of the so called journey rather than the promotion part.

All the top clubs play it out from the back, so players who can be an effective part of that system will be the ones that attract buyers. Most of our current team can’t, which I think Thomasson is making a point of proving to his bosses.

I don’t think he likes our squad any more than we do. The players brought in weren’t missing pieces to compliment our existing lot, they were somewhat desperate, warm-bodied gap-fillers. I expect squad turnover in spades by next Sept.

So why does he not play a different system? Two reasons I think. 1) I have no idea what system will make players like Travis and Gallagher much better, and 2) there’s no point doing anything with Wharton, Buckley, Garrett etc if it’s going to just be long punts to the big fella.

Personally, I’d make the big calls this window: call time on Travis (maybe RB for a while since Brittain is always injured), send Morton back, trade Gallagher for really any striker, go with our future midfield of Wharton, Bucko and Garrett. Start giving Phillips more game time. I’d even sell Diaz if some idiot offers over £5m as he’ll be playing glued to the left touchline to not get injured.

The good teams play it out from the back, as they have players to do that. I could paint my bedroom walls, but would not try to emulate Rembrandt.

  4. Went to the game with my son and grandson today, as a Christmas treat, before I fly back to Spain on Monday. It turned into a disaster.

I can only assume Adam Wharton in injured, as he has to be a starter and although hindsight is a wonderful thing, surely he was better than any of the midfield starters.

It must be an opposing managers dream to see us piss about with it at that back, as we simply can’t do it and just offer up chance after chance. Three taken today and it could have been more.

Despite the first two handed on a plate, we were still in it when Dack got the goal, but continued to do what we could all see was suicidal. It’s a huge disappointment losing heavily against the two local rivals and where we go from here is anyones guess.

Burnley haven’t. One of “these types of players” bullied our entire back line, left half our team frightened to death of going near him, scored two goals, won man of the match, and generally took the piss all afternoon.

If a player comes off the pitch in the derby, who has rattled the supporters, let alone the team, as much as he did, so much so that a mild-mannered supporter would gladly lump him, then he has performed that role.

Burnley had one and we didn't and that tells a story. Furthermore, if that is the case in March, they will pummel us again.

I've only been in work 15 minutes and the non-Rovers fans (and the Burnley fan) are asking the same questions.

"Why do you keep rolling it our from the back"

"Why don't you clear your lines"

"Why do you pass to a player who is marked.

It's a project boys. Get on board.

Stick the Toyah Wilcox song on, it's a mythtery.

We helped set the tone with Barnes from about the 5th minute. Kaminski going down holding his face after Barnes touched his chest was the start. He was rolling around pretending to be hurt instead of getting aggressive back. The ref, who won’t believe his luck at how few incidents there were, was never going to be fooled by that.

We were completely passive and let Barnes take liberties all game. He flew through one of our midfielders (forget who), which admittedly should’ve been a yellow all day long, but it’d have been really easy to make him regret doing that challenge.

Closest we got to dishing anything out was Ayala while defending a corner and Travis’s unintelligent and pointless booking. We were pathetic in all honesty. Bring Souness and Flitcroft in on a consultancy basis for a week before we play them again, see if they can find anyone with a pair of bollocks in our changing room.

Hedges. Think Barnes needed to cop one early on to show him if he was prepared to dish some, so where we. Sadly no one was up to it.

Derby games are overrated. This is why I was upset when the West Ham game got written off before it started. It’s just one game, pinning too much on one game, no point getting personal with the manager, he thought this team was gonna do well felt the need to piss around with it he’s the boss. We move on

Personally they day I feel that way, is the day I will stop watching football.
Go and read a few Bill Shankly quotes and see what passion is all about.

Its a lot more important than that.

Do any of them live in the area? Does Waggott? Do they have any idea of the rivalry? Does Waggott  have any inkling of what Rovers v Burnley means? A good CEO would be impressing onnewcomer like Tomasson the importance of today's match. Kompany certainly does - and as do the Burnley directors and the players to judge from the passion they showed. Our lot played like it was a training exercise

Kaminski does. He lives in Mowbrays old place.

Echoing what many others have said but for me the most disappointing thing about today is the fact we never even laid a glove on them. At least have a go - the manager and team just don't seem to have "got" the fact that this is a bit of a special fixture at all.

Individually I don't think JDT is picking his best players either. For me the two Wharton's are our best centre half and best midfielder respectively. Dack is also one of our most talented players but off field issues appear to be preventing his selection. Add that to the fact that you're playing Brittain on the wrong side and I think you're making life very difficult for yourself.

Still no idea whatsoever how this season is going to end up.

I have to say the two brothers should have been on there from the off. They have both shown they have more than enough ability to be in the team and for the very fact that they are local lads and fans, that’s got to be the absolute decider.
The passion was missing from today and the efforts required to at least show the fans that they cared, was simply not there.

I will be hurting for a few weeks now and would like to think the players are too, but sadly they did not show that this was the case today.

As for the second goal, we had just got away with a self inflicted chance and we go and do exactly the same thing with the tip tap football from the back.

One final thing, if Barnes had done that to my team mate after his goal, he would have been out of the return fixture, as I would have twated him into the middle of next year.

Sorry man but you’ve done this to me recently in relation to the Dack issue as well. We can’t post their wage slips on here nor always reveal sources as such but there are a few people who post on this forum that do actually have decent info.

Not everyone who doesn’t ‘prove’ what they are putting forward are making it up.

I will second that. My job means that I see wage slips for people I deal with, but I have a duty to keep things confidential too. Without saying who and when, I have seen wage slips and contracts for certain players, at Rovers and other clubs.

There are some additional arrangements in place for tomorrow with a section of Harry Potts Way closed to home supporters. To access this road Rovers fans will have to show their tickets.

    Stay safe everyone.

It’s a good idea that. I am watching from Spain, but will be thinking of those who have gone to the game. Hope everyone behaves and does the club proud.

  13. Interesting that this is coming out now. It feels like perfect timing, but is there something sinister going on.

The comment from the ex players last night about homosexuality being a problem of the mind again seemed like very strange timing.
I can’t see it happening but imagine a boycott taking place at this stage.

Vivid dreams came to me when prescribed tramadol for pain management, prior to a hip replacement .... actually played for England at Twickenham, belted out the National Anthem like anything, Mrs " Sympathetic Claret " & parents beaming down from the stands ... lovely !

My GP, an old mate, rang to see how I was getting on, and I duly reported this apparently common side effect ... " Do you want me to try you with an alternative painkiller ? "

" No thanks, Doc, I'm waiting for my three in a bed session with Cheryl Ladd & Catherine Bach ( Daisy Duke ), once I've had that dream, I'll get back to you ! " 😉

    Nothing cheesy then?
