  1. I've only got the BBC website to go by, but it sounds like a decent goal Goal by Micah Hyde (Burnley) volleyed right-footed (top-left of goal) from right channel (30 yards).Blackburn 1-1 Burnley.
  2. Bloody ViaSat Really wish I could watch this game... guess I'll have to do with the radio.
  3. It is indeed crap. I reacted at the bit you mentioned, but even more at this: "hope that we get some of the humour that this rivalry has spawned, as when Trelleborgs, the Norwegian part-timers, dumped Rovers out of the Uefa Cup" Some may think it's trivial, but I bet you lot wouldn't like it if they called Blackburn Scottish
  4. The first team on this list would also be ahead of Rovers, but when it comes to foreign football Rovers is the only team I really care about. Swedish season is spring-fall, so there are several months of the year where Blackburn is my only team too 1. IFK Göteborg - Local club, and I *think* the only Scandinavian team to win a European cup. Note the lack of a capital c. 2. Sweden - Well duh... 3. Atalanta - Favourite Italian team 4. Crewe Alexandra - Managed them in some old CM game, went to find out a bit more about them and I now look out for their results at least. 5. Askims IK. A lowly amateur Swedish club, but it's my club, where I played for a few years when I was younger. I also know half their first-team squad.
  5. The commentators mentioned that when he was 14-15 or so he scored SIX goals straight from corners in just one game. It's not quite as unbelievable as it sounds, I've seen with my own eyes someone score three goals like that in one game. That too was at youth level, although a year or two younger players. I believe it was quite soon after making the transition to full sized pitches and 11 players, as at least here it's 7 a side when kids are younger. It's not possible to do it several times over with fullgrown 'keepers and defenders
  6. This game confirmed to me that even though we aren't a great side, there's enough sides in this league that are even worse. We'll stay up. Excellent result, and a good performance. Norwich were poor, but you can only beat what's in front of you so credit to all Rovers players for doing their job. And ofcourse, part of them looking poor was us making them look so. For our next game we should line up like we started the second half, that's a team that's safely midtable. Add a striker and we're a good team. We controlled the midfield well in the second half, winning almost everything, and showed some decent attacking moves. Defense looked much better as well, Norwich rarely threatened. I like the fact that with Pedersen in the team we actually look dangerous from set pieces. His freekick that forced Green to make a rather decent save was one, and his corners. Not only his ability to score directly from corners, but it was also great to see those crosses for Tugay. The second one was going towards the bottom corner of the goal. Tugay made some neat little moves in midfield, nothing that really mattered but kept the ball within the team well. I thought his passing was good today, and he picked out MGP for the first goal. Also, I loved seeing Todd make a tackle, run 20 yards with the ball and then blast it inches wide from 35 yards Green redeemed himself a bit with a good double save from Reid and Gallagher, would've done Gally's confidence good to get a goal.
  7. Mokoena off for Neill, and I'm guessing Nelsen goes into the centre of defense. Exactly what I was hoping Hughes would do.
  8. Gallagher hasn't done much, been largely invisible. Giving Johnson 30 minutes could be a good idea. Mokoena doesn't inspire any confidence in me, not a good enough header, has missed a few. Norwich could well have scored two goals of their own, although that's ofcourse not only his fault but rather the whole back four. I think the entire midfield, and especially Pedersen, has played well so far. Emerton looks very lively, and Tugay can still pick out those sweeping long passes.
  9. It's indeed on Canal+. Although not the "main" channel but rather Canal+ Sport. But I guess any self-respecting pub will have it
  10. Play Jansen and Dickov upfront, drop Mokoena. He hasn't been bad, I'd just rather have Nelsen/Todd at the back and Savage + Tugay/Thompson (i.e an attacking threat).
  11. Drop Mokoena (Not that he's particularly bad, just that I'd rather play Nelsen - Todd) and play with two men upfront. Doesn't really matter whether it's Jansen, Gally, Stead or Johnson partnering Dickov as long as he's not alone upfront.
  12. Anyone else having problems with the audio commentary? It worked for the first minute or so but then stopped. The Boro commentary works though.
  13. I actually agree with this Although I'd have Nelsen on the bench instead of Matteo, and I'm not sure which striker to put on the bench. This could easily be changed to a 4-4-2 with Pedersen playing a more attacking role and Thommo moving to the wing. We have improved a lot since the last time we met Chelsea. Unfortunately, so have they. 2-0 Chelsea.
  14. I'm sorry, did anyone actually expect Rangers to pay £6m for Barry Ferguson??? Rangers wanted £10m for Boumsong, they got £8m. Real Madrid wanted £8m (I think) for Morientes and got £6.4m. We do not want to keep a £30k p/w player who wants to leave, thus we try and get as much as we can. Rangers also knew that we really wanted to sell, and thus they weren't going to pay over the odds. He wasn't worth £6.5m when he signed, and he certainly isn't worth £6m now. I wouldn't say he's worth £5m to an EPL club, but he may well by for an SPL club as comparatively speaking, he's like a Gerrard, Lampard or Vieira up there
  15. If it's anything above £5m I reckon we did well. He really wasn't worth the £6.5m we paid, and in today's market he isn't worth £5m either. My guess is £5.25m. Disappointed we (probably) won't be bringing anyone in, neither a midfielder nor a striker.
  16. He didn't say that at all. Please read more carefully. I know you'll take any chance you get to take a pop at phil, but you'd be better of to sticking to those occasions where it's warranted. I'd take the £5m if I was JW. Barry hasn't been great (But not bad either by any means) when supposedly giving 100%, so I don't think he'll play well at all now that he's crying for mommy who's a few hours away...
  17. Under Souness we never looked like winning. Under Hughes we've won a few games and drawn a lot. What's lacking is a goalscorer, if we can get that then we're in the top ten.
  18. I don't like him at all, and he's an injuryprone troublemaker. However Hughes can probably keep him from causing trouble (If you truly respect your manager you're less likely to cause trouble), and if he's not constantly injured then we've got ourselves a goalscorer, and we really do need one. I do question whether he's worth £6m though. That's a lot of money in today's climate, with last seasons CL top scorer moving for a similar sum. There's also the question of who's going to play those through balls? The Tugay of two seasons ago could, Barry alongside Savage could, but now? Thommo would provide a few as he has the vision, but his passing is... inconsistent to say the least.
  19. The Colchester one has worked well for me since the second goal, when I first tried it.
  20. So... are we playing a 4-4-2 with Pedersen upfront or is it a 4-5-1? Does anyone know for sure?
  21. If Barry stays, what good will it do to boo him??? Will he play any better if you do? NO!!! Why would a real fan boo a player if the end result was the team playing worse? Doesn't make sense to me. And please, do dismiss me with the "I'll be at Ewood, where will you be?" comment. Makes spouting your usual crap so much easier.
  22. That's what everyone is hoping for. But like Scotty says, he hasn't done that so far. He's the friggin captain, wanting to scurry off home to sunday league (And I don't care if the SPL is better than the media make it out to be. It's still not any good) in the midst of a relegation battle after 12 months (Excluding the 6 injury months) of picking up huge pay checks after moving from the very same club. Who incidentally ripped us of bigtime. There could well be something dodgy though, with Souness a friend of Murray and then paying over the odds for Barry and Amo. I'd like to think it's just Souness stupidity, but who knows...
  23. Doesn't that sound very similar to Now obviously as you've met Klos and you know he's a Rangers man there's probably a bigger chance that he's actually being sincere. But you should never trust a footballer when he says he's "definitely" doing something
