Enlighten who, a person on the internet who is coming across as oddly sensitive?

Right so you got nothing... because what we have is a case of a transfer that was consented by both parties, no forcing out of any kind.

We got a decent deal, the lad gets a crack at the Prem along with all the boons that come with it & all the money we get goes into the Venky black hole never to be heard of again.

Yep, hence him being pressured to leave. He was asked to leave before the end of last season.

Being pressured to leave would be illegal and the lad could have taken legal action against whoever pressured him to leave.

Truth is he was told a deal has been agreed and the club are happy for him to seek pastures new. No coercion, intimidation, threats or physical force. So no forcing him out at all.

He was forced out. Course he's happy at being treated like a king for the day and being set for life, but back when he was being given a shove he wasn't. He was happy here.

I said he was being forced out last season, to shouts of "there won't be a fire sale" or "they won't sell him till he's beefed up a bit."

    That turned out well.

You understand he had a 5 year contract here right? Players hold all the power, if he didn't want to go... he wouldn't have gone.

Blackburn Rovers are to sign Liverpool centre-back Billy Koumetio on loan.

    - Alan Myers

No loan fee & 0% contribution to wages then i'll accept it, any monetary transaction involved then i'm sorry its a waste of yet more money we don't have and offers nothing that we need to add to the squad that one of our youth cant provide

I remember reading that Alan Ball got a percentage of the transfer fee, when he went to Arsenal-because he hadn't asked for the transfer-and that was years ago!

John Aldridge demanded £250k from Liverpool to leave Liverpool who had no obligation to pay him anything, they paid him up to get him gone...

If playing FM has taught me anything then loyalty bonuses are different from having a 10% of the next sale clause in a players contract, both of which do exist.

If Wharton has a 10% clause (which at 1.8m on a 18m sale seems to be what twitter rando is suggesting) then it raises some questions - not least does he get the 1.8m in one go now whilst we get the 18m in installments? If so what are the installments?

I suspect it's nonsense but it could be exactly the kind of haggling over the wording of the contract that holds up a deal.

Imagine if palace are paying 3m every six months for three years, and we somehow agreed to it without realising that we're obliged to hand 1.8m of the first installment straight to Adam...

If we are giving anyone £7,000 per week in a loyalty bonus then we are fooked financially no matter how many cuts we make

Thousands of people put aside their opposition to Venky's to follow the club they love.  It is part of their weekly life ritual, which has often gone on for decades, in my case passed down the family for over a hundred years.

That's fair enough, still doesn't mean he has to respect that decision though.

If my family pet had an incurable disease that was killing it slowly week on week to the point it cant even eat/move anymore, im not going to keep the poor thing in pain out of some form of "well, I'll miss him if he aint there lying on the floor in the morning when I wake up" ritual. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is the right thing...

A clever way of framing the narrative according to the party line. Preparing the fans in advance. What does that quote say to me?

    It is:

    a) The Wharton money didn't arrive on time.

    b) As a result of the above, Rovers could not sign McGuire and other intended targets.

Can almost guarantee that Wharton to Palace will be announced close to the deadline and the likes of Jackson, Nixon etc will jump on that as being the reason for a failed deadline day. Nothing to do with the owners. Oh no. All to do with the Wharton money arriving too late.

The party line is clear to see.

Dont forget all the press shots parading Wharton in Palace garb will be done outside in daylight just to rub salt into the wounds... Too late my arse

None have those Clubs have thrived since those sales though have they?

They've gone into reverse which will no doubt happen to us as well albeit we haven't much further to drop.

Let's not dress this up as a good thing, it's a sale borne out of economic necessity nothing else. We'll bring a bit of dross in and decline still further.

No Championship club thrives 😆 that's the point. They equally have not gone into reverse. They are stagnant, which is how the Premier League want it. Championship clubs all feed the middle to bottom of the Premier League with talent or game time for thier kids to develop while hoping to be the next chosen one who makes a breakthrough via a knockout shot in the play-offs.

There'll be only one way we're going if we keep selling our better players and financially with all due respect apart from SS couldn't see any of the others raising much.

With all due respect I doubt you thought Szmodics would be raising much 12 months ago either. You may not like it but all Championship clubs sell the better players on the books year on year if the Premier Leage come calling, it's the lay of the land in the Championship.
