Maybe he's turned himself into an absolute worldie whilst in London, or (almost certainly) maybe he's playing with a better back 4.
I don't watch much football these days - all I can tell you is that whilst he was turning out for Blackburn Rovers, he always had a calamity in him.
Aye and what Walton doesn't have a better back 4 infront of him than Raya had? All I can tell you is Raya always had a Worldie in him also. Id forgive an odd clanger if he is pulling out stops that would otherwise result in a goal against 9 times out of 10

Because he was a similar liability and wanted a massive pay rise.
33 goals against (2nd best in the league) suggests otherwise

Read it again!
Still makes no sense! Raya, Walton & Steele one of these is not like the others, 2 are shit at the position they purportedly play the other is a solid if unremarkable keeper for the division he plays... I don't believe there is a club in this division that would take Walton or Steele over Raya to be number 1 other than us

It is like trying to choose between Hitler and Stalin or Johnson and Trump. Pointless.
Steele, Raya and Walton are all shit.
Well that's easy 2 are at worst a couple of prats the other 2 committed war crimes.
2nd selection also very easy 2 are shit and 1 is a solid championship keeper and he isn't British...
The only thing those 2 discussions have in common is they are absurdly hyperbolic

Bit pathetic how some people are making out Walton is SO bad yet Raya dropped clangers constantly in his career which have suddenly been erased from folks memory. The classic Ewood scapegoat approach.
Here's a FACT. 2 keepers have kept more clean sheets in the championship this season, yes 2. And no one of them isn't Raya either.
Still keep on the slating..
Point being? Raya has the same amount of clean sheets as Walton but more importantly has 9 less goals in the against column. So thanks I will keep on slating him because he is shit.

Your opinion, can't argue what you believe. Raya is however one of the top 5 Keepers in the division my opinion.

Much better than Raya though according to some on here ?

Walton has been good overall..yes made mistakes but better than Raya for me. But I want an experience keeper. Gave you loads of names during summer roversfan99.
Yeah the keeper who is first choice for the team with the 3rd best goals against column n the division and who is averaging less than 1 goal against per game is not a good as the calamitous Walton, Ok then ?.

Yeah, I see your point, no player should be undroppable after a blunder like that. Just don't think Leutwiler will make us any better.
Can't say I disagree but gotta give it a try or we keep highlighting his uselessness every week and the status quo continues

Problem is Leutwiler's no improvement. Raya had his share of critics but he at least made some top drawer saves now and again. Walton's a definite downgrade.
100% Raya should never have been sold if we were to be left with Walton, Leutwiler and a couple of million quid in his place. No manager worth his salt let's that happen willingly. But we have got what we have and Walton is shocking, if Raya was bad enough to be dropped last season (He wasn't, imo) according to Mowbray then i'm sorry Walton deserves the same treatment.

Time for Leutwiler to be given the gloves until January when we can get a proper keeper in. Walton has had his chance and shown absolutely nothing to persevere with especially as he isn't our player. Gallagher is a plodder and should be nowhere near the 18 on a matchday. All that money spent in the summer and the only 2 who have done anything for us are a couple of freebies ?

Last week was bad. Today was always going to be tough. Sitting bottom never feels nice, but I see us getting better over the next few weeks.
Yeah only Middlesbrough, Hull, Cardiff & Baggies up the next couple of weeks ?

If we are not comfortably mid table come December then has has to go. In no way shape or form should he get another window after the shambles this one has been. I'm thankful for everything he has done but the same mistakes keep being made with no change in sight, I think he has no other plans to engage change and that's frightening.

....not sure if everyone quite gets the 5pm deadline idea.
Understand it fine, Having a deal sheet complete in principle doesn't mean the deal will happen.

Or we are waiting on Wigan confirming Mulgrew, as we can only do it if that happens
-
Think any Hanley deal is dead after Farke saying “It was important to keep this group together and we were pretty careful to bring some new lads in." added to the dreaded "I don’t expect any more business." can safely say that's now off the radar ?

Sky claim we're after Idrissa Sylla on loan from QPR.
Didn't he leave QPR on a permanent in January though??

Could literally splice Mulgrew's name in there and it would be just as accurate! But of course those players never get named. Only the youngsters.
Well if he goes after a respected member of the squad and the player gets the hump it could influence others in the squad and you lose the dressing room and everything from then is a sinking ship disaster with very few helping bail water of fix the hull. Flip side is a youngster who has no real relationship with the squad as a whole getting the hump wont end up doing much throughout the squad. Plus a youngster will be more willing to take on advice/criticism than and older head who will have countless options elsewhere in his mind

Well Sheff Utd lost 2-1 @ home on opening day last season and they did alright ?
He has 5 days to get at least 1 proper centre-back in or we are in a season of abject mediocrity

Interesting to think that teams who have had recent success in this league (Villa/Sheff Utd) have done so with goalkeepers on loan.
Correct me if i'm wrong but Nyland & Steer were the two goalkeepers that shared the gloves between Bruce & Smith non of which were on loan

Just seen Ádám Bogdán was released by Liverpool, even if we sign a Keeper for some cash this window why we are not all over that one is surprising. Premier League & International experience and around £4m cheaper than Darlow who is of similar or less experience. I'd personally be much happier having Bogdán starting or providing a challenge to a proper number 1 than Leutwiler.

And to jump from there to claiming some expect us to be "strutting the division like Man City do the Premiership" is not hyperbole?!!!
Absolutely not, we have been outplayed by 2 teams that I can remember and we are sitting in the top 10 of the division. Yet that is unacceptable and we need to dominate more with flair.. Sorry but if we did that we would be strutting the division like Man City. Being a competitive Championship side in the play-off mix is apparently not enough in our first season back in the Championship for some.

OK---who on this message -board said they wanted us to be strutting the division like Man City do the Premiership?
And "yes' I know what hyperbole means. I've seen plenty of it on here for a start. And that's another example.
Maybe if you read the quoted message in the reply you quoted you know the "We can grind out results but will only take us so far, much more dominance and flair needed" part
