Why even bother resurrecting the deal if so, though? Was it another case of GB thinking he could restructure as a loan with various fees and Venky's/Suhail at the last minute being like "hold your horses there chief, we said no fees, and that includes loans" ? Hence paperwork ends up submitted too late...
But then, even for that to be the case - why would you be parading the guy around wearing our shirt and doing interviews?
The whole thing just makes no sense, unless it's occam's razor scenario of... our staff really did just fuck up the paperwork again despite GB's insistence we wouldn't see a repeat. However, if THAT was the case then why would Jon not suggest the journalists ask Greg rather than Steve and Suhail...?
That's my issue. He's (JDT) clearly pointing the finger at those 2 specifically and let's be fair, he's certainly passed the buck onto GB on many occasions before, so it's no Freudian slip.
Maybe it's to play the 'woe is me' card? The optics of looking like they care for their 'investment' to all the fans.
Honestly, I've no idea. But the fact this is the 2nd time in 3 windows, GB's pictured shaking his hand and everything is plastered all over socials AND we seemed to change our mind on the deal and it's structure TWICE - says something of an Indian nature, stinks to high heaven

I'm not buying the paperwork storied at all. He's specifically blaming Suhail and Waggott, its got to be down to financial reasons or the twats in Pune pulling the plug. Suhail is their puppet, maybe he fell asleep and didn't pass a message on?
Yes but why would Waggott or Suhail point the finger at Venkys specifically? They're the only two that wouldn't gain by doing that.
Steve gets a nice bonus for saving money, Suhail likely the same and all whilst portraying another paperwork fuck up.

Additionally I feel for McGuire who has really wanted to come to England to test himself and has potentially been robbed of that for the time being.
Should the appeal fail, I do hope he gets his opportunity next season.
Also just for some critical thinking. If as reported, we did renege on the initial agreement whilst he was mid flight over to England. Why wouldn't they purposely cock-up the paper work so they didn't have to shell out a loan fee?

I seem to remember post last January's debacle, when GB came out and faced the music, he specifically said that the process re: paperwork submission had been reviewed and measures put in place to ensure that it wouldn't happen again.
It's really difficult to know how much he is to blame individually for this cock up (if at all), it's clear however that not all the senior team are singing from the same hymn sheet. I've worked and arguably still work in an environment very similar and sadly, no-one wins.
Broughton will not want this debacle on his CV, it serves him no favours for his future in football, which for all intents and purposes had gone quite well prior to him rocking up at Ewood. On the other hand Waggott is extremely unlikely to have/want or need another job in the sport, whilst Suhail is a Venkys stooge who will get repurposed at one of their other 'business ventures' (like a lot of the useless lot do), have they purposely ballsed up to keep the shareholders sweet and top up their pension/ensure job safety in the future? (delete as appropriate).
Or do Venkys want to portray optics of doing the right thing, whilst in the background preventing any and all investments long term? Are the two even mutually exclusive?
Any new owners would see right through Waggott, likely point and laugh at Suhail's management abilities and no doubt waltz Sylvester out the door within the first fortnight. The problems start and fucking end with Venkys and anyone they've directly employed.
As a side note if Alan Nixon is reading this, your relative defence of Venkys on twitter this evening can get to fuck, you big fat Thistley bellend.

My thoughts on the game, We started off well but after the first 15 mins we played poor. Should have been 3 or 4 nil down.
Second half started well but then conceded 2 goals in 4 mins, even after that we tried to get back into the game. we scored and and should have get an equaliser.
No surprised by the chants towards Waggott and Venkys. The club is slowly dying under this ownership and CEO. There is no ambition under these people and JDT/GB do but don't received the backing they should. JDT wants promotion and get Rovers back to the PL and he signed up for very different project to this current one.
Oh there were some Venkys/Waggott out chants today??

In fairness he was pretty scathing the other day. If you’ve lost Chaddy then the Facebook lot can’t be too far behind.
As I say, I wasn't trying to be facetious, for me he's a good barometer that if they've lost him, then as you say, the wider fan base will (surely to Christ) be in a similar position.

I'd like to know what @chaddyrovers thinks of everything that's going on. Someone who tries to find the positives in as much as they can, if Venkys et al have lost him, the god help them.
(This is not a sly dig at Chaddy at all, just general intrigue).

Interestingly it seems directed at waggot and suhail and not Broughton.
Think that bit is important to note. He's literally told us who to point the blame at.
The day before the window closed there were some (albeit loose) links to players who I thought more closely aligned to the 'project'.
The day after, it's nothing but loans.
If you can't read between the lines now, then you're a blind person.

Surely we wouldn't have released the social videos and put it on the official website if so.
I wouldn't expect him to be around today, give him an opportunity to sort moving his things to the UK.
Just seen the other thread and some of the apparent twitter posts.
I've somehow jumped the gun.... potentially similar to rovers socials.

Maybe he simply doesn't want to field questions about the transfer window as "That's Gregg's job".
He won't be happy about selling our best player and bringing in temporary solutions to tide us over until the summer though. Granted he won't be here for the rebuild.
The bit for me in Andy Bayes' statement is Club Decision.
I may be reading into it a bit much, but that doesn't read as though it's been a JDT only choice to not talk.
- 1
-
So JDT not being allowed to talk to the media, enforced by the club.
It's likely Our manager thinks it's a joke what we've done in the transfer market, I can't think of any other obvious reason why they'd stop him committing to his duties.
It is startling that an outsider with no ties to the club apart from a pay packet, thinks we're being duped, and a large portion of fans don't.

So confirmed that's the end of our dealings for the day?

Right so you got nothing... because what we have is a case of a transfer that was consented by both parties, no forcing out of any kind.
We got a decent deal, the lad gets a crack at the Prem along with all the boons that come with it & all the money we get goes into the Venky black hole never to be heard of again.
So you're a Venkys employee then? They're the only 'we' that benefit.

Gone very quiet today.
Still angry and mad about Rovers not signing McGuire after trying to sign him all window, finally agreeing a fee with his clubs and then to cancel it mid flight is inexcusable for me. Look forward to hearing Rovers reason for doing so
For me Caddy, there's no viable reason for it, regardless of what Rovers might say.

What a fantastic summary of events.
By a 'journalist' (quotes as I don't know if he is or just an Orlando fan) who probably had no idea who we were 3 days ago.
Yet our local reports from radio and print cry wolf on behalf of Venkys.

I think the stumble block is that Rovers want to loan McGuire initially and then sign him....think the same is with Owls.... that would mean problems for Orlando to sign Brekalo.
That doesn't make sense. Orlando wouldn't have sanctioned him to get on a plane and come to England if the structure of the deal hadn't been acceptable beforehand.
Face it, the owners have waded their way into it again knowing they're too far away to feel the impact.

I stayed away from transfer thread after I saw the 2 teams with no money and the worst owners in Championship, were fighting it out for some chap playing football in Florida, who I'm led to believe its not Messi....
Whats the popular consensus Matty?
We need the money even with billionaire owners?
The money is going towards next season promotion push 😏
Free John Bulls at the next home game?
That kind of thinking would be giving Waggott too much credit.
That *was* the January Window

Suhails only here because of Venkys, he has never had nor will he get another job in football, with his skills shown, I'll be surprised if anyone outside of Venkys ever employs him.
Waggott is on his last pay day, so will cart on until he's booted.
Neither are going to give us answers.
