Yes Mike, The first goal is poor defending by JRC and the second goal is poor defending from a very simple long ball that. Pears did the right thing by staying back as Carter was trying to catch him. Pears might have been yard too left but showing stills like that doesn't show the full incident in the proper context.
It shows his positioning perfectly well, and anyone who wants to watch the goal again can do. There’s no excuse for him to be stood there at that moment.
Contrast with Mary Earps who has just now pulled off a save that Buffon would be proud of.

Its great showing that but doesn't showed the full action of that moment as you see why he is actually so far to start with.
No, I’m a keeper every weekend and that is inexcusable.
From his original position he should have either attacked the ball himself (brave, bordering on stupid), or positioned himself centrally.
He did nothing and froze for a single second, and ended up about 2 yards left of where he should be.

James has to come on at HT,she can make something out of nothing.
Was just about to say this, she has that bit of power and skill we’re missing atmo.
We’ve been playing nervous all game, and Spain have used it to their advantage to pull us from pillar to post.
Need someone who can settle our nerves, get their foot on the ball and take advantage of any runs Hemp and Russo can make.
Otherwise we’re relying on set pieces and there aren’t many options n the women’s game.

Spain very skilful this is going to be tough
Plus they’re motivated as much by payback for their QF knockout last year by us. Really trying to draw us out of position (and doing it well).

who are the 3 Mike as I don't follow Women football and haven't follow the Women world cup one bit apart from work colleague talking about it?
Keira Walsh (now Barcelona), Georgia Stanway (now Bayern Munich), Ella Toone (now Man Utd).

Pears got blamed by some for not doing better for the two goals at Rotherham as well as yesterday.
All I can say is, Wahlstetd has been set a ridiculously high bar if/when he gets his chance. I hope he's good enough to keep the likes of those efforts out,as he's supposedly accomplished with his feet as well, we'll have a £50 million keeper on our hands.
His ‘high bar’ is only to be better than Pears. As a capped Swede, I think he’ll manage.

As someone else noted. Must say I admired Hull respecting and joining in with Jack Walkers round off applause before the game and during the 23rd minute. Respect for the away fans to all clapping like they were both times.
I had a few Hull fans remarking to me after the game that they thought it was wonderful that we still honoured him in such a way.
Not all fans display the nasty jealousy that the big clubs do.

What did Pears get wrong today, he made at least two really good saves that kept us level, before we went ahead. He had no chance with even goal, both absolutely atrocious goals to give away, both straight through (or over) the middle without a defender in sight. Would have been a bit of a robbery had we won but we really threw it away with those goals.
I do feel he should have done better positionally for their winner. Doesn’t mean he’d have saved it, but would’ve given their player more to think about and MIGHT have saved or made him miss the target.

Gutted. Football is a fucking cruel game.
When they went 2-1 up, we should’ve been 3-1 up.

Have Southampton won then?

Hull not doing to us what we did to Rotherham- yet.
All Championship games level at half time.
Birmingham and Southampton are winning

A lot of fans around me saying we don’t miss Pickering. I disagree, we replaced him with Brittain. It’s Dolan we don’t miss (aside from having the extra body on the pitch).
Think Gally or Ennis need to come on for more presence up top, Leonard’s only made a couple of good runs imo.

About 5 episodes in to Designated Survivor on Netflix. Really good watch so far. Interested to see how they spin three series out of it though.
We gave up after S2. Not because it’s bad (it’s very good), but felt really OTT American after a while.
In that kind of way where it explains EVERYTHING, instead of trusting the intelligence of those watching.

Legally, he is allowed to play football for Man Utd.
Entirely coincidentally, I think knee-high, studs-up, two-footed tackles will be in fashion among away teams at Old Trafford.

The brilliant Michael Parkinson has passed away aged 88.
Does anyone know the one film star he failed to have on his show? He tried his entire career, but this A-lister refused.
DeNiro?

Nothing tops Dave Beasant dropping a bottle of salad cream on his foot.
Didn’t David Seaman pull a muscle reaching for the remote control once?
Or have I pulled that out of my ‘unusual injuries’ Football Manager package? (Best one was losing my star signing to retirement because broke both legs in a car crash…)

Absolutely, I struggled to recognise him as a Brazilian after being brought up watching great players from the 60’s and especially the 1970 team. Neymar is a cheating diving arsehole compared to those greats.
Even compared to the early 00s team. He wouldn’t get in any team that included R9, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka. Hell I think I even saw Juninho show more talent.

Nationals have been full of England stories right through the WWC and particularly since the quarters - great reading
Decent piece on the BBC 10pm news tonight but the BBC were out of order last night. There is no news value in ManU v Wolves.
Goods news editors are like good footballers - worth paying for. You're sacked
I’m not a news editor, I’m someone who watches the news. And I didn’t care that the women’s match wasn’t on the news, nor did my wife (who plays locally and has had me watching as much of the WC as I had her watching the men’s).
We watch BBC for news because it covers what’s important, not what’s popular, that’s why it’s worth watching.
That it covered the WC tonight just proves it knew what it was doing, and maybe has it’s finger on the pulse better than you do.

Blackburn Rovers U18s Michalski, Murphy-Worrall, Powell, Litherland (Houghton 65), Doherty, Finneran, Bell, Stritch Nsangou (Boggan 81), Shaw (Shorrocks 65), Dlamini (Mullarkey Matthews 73).
Stitch Scored …Ended 1-1 with Wolves getting a late goal .. Nice to see Finneran getting fast tracked ….Under 18s is looking very young these days…
I love Finneran, such a complete player for his age. If Wharton is Pirlo, Finneran is Keane.

Never heard of previews? The build-up to big games??
News from the WWC England camp was on all the main networks, except the BBC, which chose to have a piece on ManU v Wolves
The news editor needs a good bollocking
Ofc I’ve heard of previews, and when on the news they’re irritating and not informative in the slightest.
Literally no reason for the game to be on the news today.
Tomorrow, ‘before the big game’ etc is good. Today? What’s the point? And I wish it was this way with the men’s internationals too, they’re irrelevant to the news.
The final, maybe. Winning it abso-fucking-lately.
