Nationals have been full of England stories right through the WWC and particularly since the quarters - great reading

Decent piece on the BBC 10pm news tonight but the BBC were out of order last night. There is no news value in ManU v Wolves.

Goods news editors are like good footballers - worth paying for. You're sacked

I’m not a news editor, I’m someone who watches the news. And I didn’t care that the women’s match wasn’t on the news, nor did my wife (who plays locally and has had me watching as much of the WC as I had her watching the men’s).

We watch BBC for news because it covers what’s important, not what’s popular, that’s why it’s worth watching.

That it covered the WC tonight just proves it knew what it was doing, and maybe has it’s finger on the pulse better than you do.

Blackburn Rovers U18s Michalski, Murphy-Worrall, Powell, Litherland (Houghton 65), Doherty, Finneran, Bell, Stritch Nsangou (Boggan 81), Shaw (Shorrocks 65), Dlamini (Mullarkey Matthews 73).

Stitch Scored …Ended 1-1 with Wolves getting a late goal .. Nice to see Finneran getting fast tracked ….Under 18s is looking very young these days…

I love Finneran, such a complete player for his age. If Wharton is Pirlo, Finneran is Keane.

Never heard of previews? The build-up to big games??

News from the WWC England camp was on all the main networks, except the BBC, which chose to have a piece on ManU v Wolves

The news editor needs a good bollocking

Ofc I’ve heard of previews, and when on the news they’re irritating and not informative in the slightest.

Literally no reason for the game to be on the news today.

Tomorrow, ‘before the big game’ etc is good. Today? What’s the point? And I wish it was this way with the men’s internationals too, they’re irrelevant to the news.

The final, maybe. Winning it abso-fucking-lately.

On another note, WTF was ManU v Wolves featured on the BBC 10pm news and the women's World Cup semi-final less than 48 hours from kick-off ignored?

The WWC has attracted enormous interest while most people outside partizan supporters s of both clubs couldn't give two hoots about the game at Old Trafford

A bizarre and poor editorial decision

Why would something that’s not happened (and already announced as happening previously) be on the news? Unless there’s been an injury to Chloe Kelly or something?

During the warm up at Rotherham, it was good to see Wahlstedt jump over the wall to have selfies with some young Rovers fans.

Wahlstedt is giving me the same ‘cult status’ vibes I get from Szmodics. I feel like he’ll be a good player, but also have a personality to match.

Can’t put my finger on why I feel that way. I didn’t even get that from Kaminski, whom we were able to sign only because he booted his own defender in the bollocks.

Based on what I've seen so far this season I would quite like us to line up like this... Think the combinations down the left and right will be great.

                              Pears

    Brittain.     Hyam.    Carter.     Pickering

               JRC.    Buckley   Wharton

           Hedges.     Ennis.     Szmodics

I feel like this formation would really suit us AND get a tune out of Buckley. If JRC and Wharton marshall and dictate respectively, this would allow Buckley the freedom to play box-to-box and roam forward (as we’ve seen him do really well in the past).

Not that I would ever want to spend my time arguing with Dingles, it’s bad enough on here with your own fans.

But the difference being he gets gentle ribbing on here, whereas on UTC, you would be hounded off in minutes in an hail of expletives after being told of Jack Walker being dead and hoping the club follows him.

I’ve always asked them how many trophies they have won without a benefactor. Answer - 6

That’s how many FA Cups we have. None of which were won with Jack Walker.

We’ve also won two first division titles and a league cup without Jack Walker.

I couldn't help but chuckle when I watched Sunderland the other day, with Mowbray and Venus running the show.

Give me our guy any day of the week!

The sheer world weary, downbeat personna of Tony can't be inspiring to be around.

JDT is like Des O'connor, to Mowbray's Sinead

Thank you for sending me down a Morecambe and Wise rabbit hole 😂😂😂

They were saying that for two thirds of last season and there was a real 'out' groundswell brewing up then they went on a run. By the end of the season they were giving him the keys to the city.

Tbf, that IS a punishment, Sunderland is a proper hovel. Makes Burnley look like Sandringham.

  10. A bit of a follow up, my dad has asked me (rather than me asking him) to go to the match tonight.

    Why?

It’s a good price and he enjoyed the atmosphere at the Girona game.

After telling him it probably wouldn’t be the same, as it’s a night match? You’ll love this @Mhead2 @Miller11 @oldjamfan1 and other WATR board members:

’Doesn’t matter, there was some effort put in last time and the price is good. If we support it when they do, maybe they’ll get the message.’

    Yes, we’re going.

Mowbray was complaining that no extra time was added on to the 13 minutes of original added time when subs had been made and injuries occurred in that 13 minutes. I agree with him.

Also watching his interview made me feel a bit nostalgic   nauseous.

They did though? 13 mins added ran to at least 15.

I'm not sure how others have found him when they have had meeting with him, but I recall my first meeting quite well. Once he opens his mouth, he goes off point straight away and it can be quite challenging to get a word in edge. I recall him going on about a trip to Scotland he had made, and I was scratching my head thinking what's that got to do with the question I asked?

Second time around, his answers were not consistent with the answers he had given from the first meeting and it was much easier to probe, as his default answers or schooled answers for a better word, where no longer his go to answers when re-directed.

As I said on here the first time I met him, he comes across as a hard working guy, and there is no doubt he puts the hours in.

I'm not surprised in the main looking around social media that his interviews have gone down well with a lot of supporters, as this level of transparency is not what most are accustomed to. Whilst many don't use the message boards, and tend to bounce off the twitter trends or facebook groups. So don't read some of the things suggested, posted leading up to the interview to think otherwise.

He suggest there is an issue in India, but not what that issue is, or a timescale to when this will be resolved. Is he suggesting a block on operational capital being put into the club, or is he suggesting the operating capital will come with a tax attached thus, the owners are not comfortable in putting it in right now? If they fail at their challenge on this issue, what is the next step? Further cuts? lack of funding totally? Funding will be come and they will just pay the tax?#

How will this affect January? Has he already put together a best case/worse case scenario with a contingency plan? How will this affect us at the end of the season, given we have already taken an advancement of the next three years sponsorship?

If he simply does not know the answers, how can we confidently spend any of the incoming transfer money without leaving ourselves short later in the year?

Met him twice glen, as part of the Trust. He’s a very hard-working man imo, and does deserve a certain amount of credit particularly for culling the wage bill a few years ago from well over 200% of our income as a fallout from Lambert and Coyle’s time here.

I also give him credit for specifically reaching out to the Trust, but rather than fan engagement, it has struck me as asking for help followed by a lot bafflement at how the fans feel towards the owners. Ie: no REAL engagement.

However, I also believe that he just happens to be the wrong CEO for us. If he was on Broughton’s rumoured £150k, I’d be more empathetic. For double that, I want more drive to push forward, especially in the marketing and commercial departments.

I came up with the original RT marketing prospectus in about 4hrs, with no marketing knowledge but plenty of Rovers knowledge.

Begs the question wtf has been going on down there. I understand he meets his targets in the simplest way possible, but don’t seem to get much creative thinking.
