  1. I'm going for the Stanley game. Mind you I have the lap top out.. Sound definitely for ASFC! Anyone see the dog on the roof?
  2. I've been looking for some early 70s/late 60s ones but I can't say why in case... Haha
  3. Joan is an example of what stardom, money and drug problems can do. Look at the way she changed in looks from the start of her career - which spiralled into pornography. I can safely say I'd feel for anyone who got dropped in the way she did by ripple h, (even in Kay fabe!) but some of the interviews she's done with Russo make me realise just how far she'd gone. RIP - in no way the best female sports entertainer of her time, but one of the most successful!
  4. Cheers mate, I'm the bass player - and I agree the drummer is really good, best one I've played with. Thanks for the listen!
  5. I was at that festival in 2006! They set fire to the bogs and wrecked a burger stand. I mean the vandals... Not the police! If anyone has time, please check out my bands new promo/teaser for our upcoming album.
  6. Gutted. I saw him wrestle at PCW. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/wrestling/british-wrestler-kris-travis-dies-7662938 In one way, it's a suprise to hear a young death in wrestling of something like cancer. RIP
  7. Was indeed, I seem to remember him having a heart attack at Ewood. Might have dreamt it.
  8. I've not seen a John Bull since I lived in Redlam- what was the chippy called on Preston old road just between Rutland street and the vauxhall?
  9. Is that article still around? Cole had pace and strength to burn, another like Shearer who could do lots of things besides score goals. Jordan will have to improve a lot to be considered in that ilk. It's also important to mention Stuart wasn't specifically comparing, just saying that he got similar stick I think - I can't agree mind, I only remember one famous comment from the idiot Hoddle about him needing 5 chances to score one. Cole wasn't just a scorer, he created chances, pressed well and particularly showed experience in his time with us. The point is rhodes doesn't get any real stick for that scoring 1 for 5 chances- just the glaring deficiencies in his all round game. I'd argue that JR is probably more predatory than many strikers we've seen in blue and white - if he had the pace of Bellamy or the power of Jason Roberts, he would be playing champions league football right now. I'd have to argue that Yakubu was more predatory though, I'm sure that statto's will disprove that! Relegation would've been easier to dismiss with Rhodes AND the new players - but at least we've made progress despite my earlier reservations of the transfer business. I was critical prior to Gomez and Watt joining, and it looks as if Ward is a capture we've also benefitted from. If Graham starts to score a few, I'd be very confident that we will be nearer the playoffs than the relegation battle come May. Glad he dropped Bennett yesterday, as he's done absolutely zip so far.
  10. The youth teams kicked on recently - long may this continue!
  11. I can't say for sure because I havent seen the games bar the highlights for one or two on the player - the results in the youth teams this season seem to be really good. This lad signing a contract is another indicator of potential within the ranks that can only help in future.
  12. Not really the point- I was saying it's good to see and compared Southampton. Regardless of who comes in or after, at least seems we are at least showing semblance of creating possible first team players.
  13. Why does it come back to Bowyer again? I'm bored of this - point is we have potentially good youth players. We have one particularly good keeper who the manager was absolutely blasted for playing 5 times this season but let's not bother getting into that. There is little acknowledgement of the improvement in the youth under Johnson, and I will repeat - this indicative of the current nature of this message board! O'Connell- whilst not knowing how good he is, based on a Rochdale fan I know he should've stayed. That said, if his contract was up or the offer was good, it's hard to disagree with the decision made without knowing the full details. Sigh. Now it's "rumours" I'm honestly aghast at the level you can stoop to to bring every thread to the same conclusion. Very close to doing a PB! I'm sure that'd please some but maybe it'd help me more.
  14. Great result. Can't see anyone mention that which is indicative of how this message board has been used recently. If the results this season in the youth sides are anything to go by, within a few seasons we may be seeing some genuinely good graduates. Looking at Southampton in particular, this has basically helped propel them forward. That is good for the club. Just basically writing it off as pointless because you don't like the manager- boring, repetitive dross not worth even posting.
  15. Also Grella was signed when we had prem income and higher turnover. The signings made the season we went down could've or could still mean administration for the club. Comparing them seems daft!
  16. I can't wait till "Nigel" gets in the first team.
  17. I think the "most angry you've ever been at a referee?" question deserves it's own thread. My answer is the West Ham at home and Tevez debacle.
  18. That's your opinion, but in mine before Guthrie and Hope, he was the second best option we had bar Evans. He can still be a good squad player, potentially a good back up for at least two positions. A different opinion is not a "blind spot" wrong or right.
  19. Because it's paranoid conjecture as opposed to discussion on football. Nothing stopping anyone from forming an opinion on a player but the suggestion that he's one of "gazzes' mates" and that's the sole reason for his inclusion is infantile. The post on Mick Mc from the Ipswich forum says it all for me about what's happened to this website. The fans are now the experts and anything they disagree with can only be explained by mysterious circumstance such as "un droppable" players or "negative instincts".
  20. Its a ridiculous over simplification to even consider the improvement as a sole result of that. Besides, Fulham away was the initial game we improved yet lost- Spurr played that game. Potentially down to a few more things than that? Like maybe something to do with the bloke who didn't score in those 5 first games? It's a fashionable assumption on here that we have "undroppable" players but I don't buy this favorites malarkey. Why did he go out and get akpan and Guthrie if he saw Lowe as undroppable?
  21. You lost me at "weve been lucky" by having players injured..
  22. Certainly need a right winger who will run at teams. I might be wrong but I think Spurr put more crosses in than Marshall on Sunday!
  23. Shauny wauny! If I had a quid for every time Abs has missed out the B in my username, I'd be able to pay off the debt and get Yakubu back for a season on a free. In terms of the ST. It's important to validate views that I saw what I'm saying. See, I have that mentality, don't like discussing, arguing, praising or moaning about stuff I haven't seen.
