  1. We had some memorable support last season although to lower home gates. For pne with 12,200 home fans and 5,500 Rovers fans the gate would be 17,700. That would give a home/away ratio (number of home fans to every Rovers fan) of 3.22. We can make some noise!

These are last seasons best figures but don't have Rotherham:

    2017-18 Gate Home/Away Ratio
    Bradford City 21,403 (1,965 Rovers) 10.89
    Rochdale 6,524 (3,300 Rovers) 1.98
    Oldham Athletic 7,784 (3,000 Rovers) 2.59
    Wigan Athletic 11,211 (2,500 Rovers) 4.48
    Bury 7,159 (3,750 Rovers) 1.91
    Walsall 6,893 (2,779 Rovers) 2.48
    MK Dons 11,212 (2,524 Rovers) 4.44
    Doncaster Rovers 10,443 (3,860 Rovers) 2.71
    Charlton Athletic 17,310 (3,110 Rovers) 5.57

12,847 with 600 odd away. So about 12,200 home fans.

We are consistently 2,000 up on last season and about 500-1,000 up on early season.

Which is ok and we can’t expect much more considering how disappointing season ticket sales were. Let’s hope we sell plenty of half STs to further boost the crowds post Christmas.

    sorry wrong thread

  3. yeah disappointing we couldn't break into top six. We did play some quality football at times but lacked the killer finishing. Smallwood had a good game. Has the ideas, not the skill, but his commitment shines through. He was still at it as he sat down after being subd. Ref this week wasn't too bad, he let the game flow but could do little to stop Rotherham wasting time.

  4. Played better second half but the ref was a problem even though he gave us a penalty. We held a good shape throughout , Graham should have bagged two but both him and Dack had to come deep into midfield because they weren't getting the ball upfront. In the end a good 3 points.

Doesn't sound like Raya or Mulgrew will be playing so I would go with the following.

                                             Leutwiler

    Nyambe           Lenihan                    Rodwell            Williams

                              Reed                         Evans

    Palmer                             Dack                                   Rothwell

                                             Graham

Subs: Fisher, Downing, Travis, Smallwood, Bennett, Conway, Armstrong

I hope Mowbray goes for it at home and plays with a proper striker along with the attacking flair of Dack, Palmer and Rothwell in behind. However I fear that he may go with a more cautious approach and play one of Bennett or Reed out wide.

Like it but who would be captain?

    Evans? or Rodwell??

Ya I'm happy Leeds equalised. We have a tough run out of the way and are still massively within striking distance of the top. I'm starting to believe that the play offs are a real possibility.

Yeah happy with the fact points shared but from a football point the decision is pathetic.

  7. Wrong decision by asst ref in Leeds v Forest game after Roofe equalises for Leeds with his arm. Roofe was interviewed straight after game but couldn't make out if he was admitting cheating or not due to poor quality of sky tv. No not a red button showing just sky tv being crap.

    Game finished 1 1.

  8. It's good to recall us playing out the final stages by winning free kicks and slowing the ball down, although at the time heart rates were doubled.

I did see Tony Mowbray's head in his hands when we cleared the ball with no one there running out into space. Massive result, never known Leeds so quiet. The up the football league we go cry was sung with real belief on the final whistle.

Was talking to an elderly Leeds fan at MacDonalds after - part of the "miserable 8k supporters" as he put it. Critical of their lack of defense but very complementary about the ground and the view he had from upper Darwen End. His last visit was in the 1970s.

  9. Not an easy game to watch with 8k squeezed in the Darwen End. God knows what they will do if we win.

I'm going back a long time but find it hard to forget a game v Leeds when Ewood was being rebuilt. Both home and away fans in the Darwen End was never a good decision and Leeds were told to leave first with Rovers fans told to remain. As Leeds fans walked by us they literally spat in our faces. Disgusting idiots.

Those living in Hyndburn, are you seeing a noticeable increase of Stanley shirts?

Spend a lot of time in Accy and yeah see more Stanley shirts these days. The rest is made up of the Rovers, usual manu/lpool, then another premier club, in that order. And I'm being honest. The nearest shout Burnley get is with the gingerbread men in Oddies.

As for the red bottom the quality both picture and commentary is bad. Only good (well laughable) thing is its not live.

Mowbray got it totally wrong tonight. Seemingly showed Sheffield United too much respect, no pressing at all as clearly instructed, and not playing our natural game. Tinkering between formations too.

If Mulgrew is fit for a half why is he not starting? Bizarre.

No idea how Reed got man of the match but why is he taking corners when he is so bad at them?

Brereton spending over 2 minutes tieing his lace summed up his cameo. Think he had his boots on the wrong feet. Ball never stuck and looks so flimsy.

Dack and in particular Armstrong looked like they couldnt be arsed. Nor what their role was. Rothwell showed far more hunger but just kept running into traffic.

Agree. Performance like tonight lets us down.

  12. Out of our depth against a excellent footballing side.  It was almost as if the players gave up due to lack of ability. Dack and Graham both playing in defense in order to get a game.  Did something upset Brereton?? Why was he tying his laces for so long during play? I'm struggling with why so little effort but maybe my thoughts are confused with an awful night.

Need to draw a line under this quickly. Lets see if we can respond against Bolton.

First pen, clear foul by Lenihan. Second pen, trip by Rodwell -no complaints from Rovers players.

Evans had a good game, plugging gaps where needed and was missed. Nyambe has a hamstring.

Need to start better, defend better and take chances. Would still have taken 13th at this stage of the season.

Which game are you talking about?

  14. As bad as a ref we've seen down at Ewood and the penalty decision.... well, really peed off. Ref will learn from our expense. Disgraceful, and I include the Forest player.

Was watching Armstrong's eyes as he crossed the ball and he never looked up. At first thought it was a poor cross over the top but it was good to see it run down the goal net.

    Jack Rodwell needs more games.
