What - the population size of Blackburn with Darwen is their fault ?? ?? -
Trust you to know the full address. Is it because they accept cheques/postal orders? Mate you could catch a disease just walking past that pub on the other side of the road never mind going upstairs there !! Just put "Red Lion N17" into Google. Honest.

Red Lion 634 High Road London N17

Having thought it through Camden's probably too far, Finsbury Park is probably a better bet, easy to get to and may even be able to get one of the places below to cordon off an area in the pub - they're more pre-Arsenal than pre-Spurs places - will check em out next week. http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub789.htm http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub801.htm

It's cool - I've called the ticket office and ordered them to send out instructions with all tickets they've not mailed out and they've given me the phone numbers of the people who've already received tickets and I'm half way through ringing round- there's only 1,267 left to do. And I've had a word with Spurs and they've instructed their stewards not to let anyone into the away end unless they have an inflatable item about their persona. I'm miles ahead of you mate.
-
You're thinking of the "Red Light District" I think... Ha Ha If memory serves me right, it wasa on the main road between Seven Sisters tibe station and White Hart Lane. If memory serves me - and in this case it certainly does - this is the most vile public house that I've ever set foot in. Quite apart from the fact that we had to argue with the bouncer to let us in - I took a couple of mates along last season and he didn't want to let them in cos they weren't wearing Rovers tops ... Once we were in there I wish we'd stayed outside. The beer was minging, the walls were peeling, it smelt, it was outrageously expensive, the coke was served warm out of 12p Aldi own brand 2 litre bottles and sold for two quid, the glasses were dirty and the staff were rude. Personally, I ain't going near the dump again !

I've always struggled to find a pub at spurs that allows away colours, although many people have mentioned a wetherspoons, I've never been able to find it. Tris ? Jimbo ? Any other local ? Any better suggestions ? From previous experience the pub scene near the ground is crap, and not helped by the fact that the tubes/trains are miles away as well. I was thinking it may be an idea to think a bit more laterally and meet up early doors somewhere like Camden or Islington, then people can decide whether to struggle to WHL on public transport or we order cabs about half 2 - from Camden it'd be about £8 per cab so £2 each. Just a thought for now ...
-
Where abouts you all staying ?
-
Yeah but the inflatable crest is £3.00 reduced from £9.99, also in the 50% off sale, so the more you buy the more you save. If you buy 10 for £30 you've saved £69.90 - enough for the return train fare or 23 beach balls.
-
Just got two lower tier tickets for Spurs. Asked how many were left and she wasn't sure, but said they were going like hot cakes this morning (went on open sale from 9am today)

Don't you mean instruct the mardy whinger to see out the remaining year on his contract, if possible without the need for red cards when he fancies a fortnight in Dubai ?? I don't care how good he is on the field (and it's variable IMO) there's no doubt that off it he needs to improve his attitude.
-
And now you can all appreciate what it's like trying to get up north every other week on the only train system in Europe which doesn't work at weekends. As for tickertape - forget it - it's their last home game and it'll be just like last year - their season ticket books will be raining again.

how's 35K less than 15K ?

[Archived] Big Ron Forced To Resign

Sorry to pull you up for your spelling, but I think that should have been rixpeck -
2756 is the difference after last weekends games (www.statmail.co.uk) but let's not split hairs .... after all the argument's been done to death, and the fact that B + D has 140,000 residents and Bolton alone has 450,000. Don't tell me they're all there to see Kevin Davies !?
-
And you're both wrong. Bolton's Carling Cup Semi Final at home, featuring JJ's last home game before jetting off to Tunisia for 4 weeks - and of course all the other Allardyce heroes - drew a pathetic crowd of 16,302 !! And you think an over the hill Brazilian on wages probably twice the next highest paid player will bring them out to the Reebok week in week out ? Fat Sam can sign who he wants, the interview he gave on SSN today shows what a short term operation he's running - the players he's got don't want to stay (unless basically bribed by huge wage hikes) and he's reduced to producing publicity stunts like Jardel and Rivaldo to keep his club on the map and in the news.
-
"Enjoy the Premiership next season" "if you can" You should have stopped there Janice. Why are you ranting about the Champions League ? Why are you boasting about how good it will be ?? Most Rovers fans tonight are just loving the fact we beat Leicester.
-
Fantastic stuff Alan - one of the best things I've read on here. That miserable 5-1 defeat at Oakwell is finally explained.
-
Philipl, very good and interesting. You're very good at explaining numbers to us lot, and also at using numbers to your advantage. And at getting numbers wrong - I've lost count of how many times you posted Leeds were dead or as good as dead, but check out your posting history via your profile and Leeds should be 6 ft under. However, now's no time for numbers unless it's 3 for a win or 1 for a draw. Let's leave the balance shiet (oops) for May 16th when 41 million quids worth of Souness buys can concentrate on pre-season work ready for the Premiership again.
-
I'm @#/? torn as well. I've just spent most of the money I was saving for a 3 week sunshine break in the states on tickets for Leeds and Leicester at Ewood, travel, Fulham ticket and I'll get the rest if needed. If this lot are going down, I'M @#/? WELL GOING DOWN WITH THEM

To give an idea of what we're up against, check out this info from Jez Moxey - Chief Exec of Wolves - from tonight's Premiership. Wolves opened sales in March for NEXT seasons Season Tickets. In two weeks they sold 17,500. -
Thievery Corporation - The Richest Man in Babylon is currently in the MD player, and a brilliant album it is too

And here begins the fascinating balancing act between supply and demand. Abbey is contemplating dropping his season ticket for other entertainment spend (Denver) in the knowledge he'll still get into Ewood when he wants to or chooses to. As a London based Rovers fan, if there was the slightest risk I'd not be able to get into Ewood when I wanted to, I'd pay for a season ticket - even if I only used it 9 times out of 19. However (as Sat proved) I can sit exactly where I want to even if I turn up at the ticket office 22 mins before KO. I had lunch with a Chelsea ST holder today, who pays over £800 for the 19 league games. Not a bad seat but not the best. This is the first year in the last 5 where he hasn't had to pay IN FULL for his next ST by the end of March !! A great Ruse by Ken Bates to fill the coffers for a summer of transfer spending - and it worked. If Ewood held 10,000 we'd all do the same to ensure we could get in. -
One of the great things about this new board is that you can click on someone's profile and read all their posts ever - in one place. Tom007 would have made a great test case, but I couldn't resist checking KSB's recent agenda - as expected 99% anti-Souness diatribe. Just three quick examples, but click on the profile and check it out - KSB has only one agenda. It's relentlessly anti-Souness and has precious little else to do with Rovers.

He (JW) is of the opinion that there's no point in doing what (eg) West Brom did. They came into the Premiership and refused to spend to stay there - fine. That meant they were never likely to stay there. They may well come back up, but if they use the same philosophy they'll go straight down again. There will certainly be no more lofty ambition than survival. Birmingham gambled last January and won and now have more to play for than survival. JW sees Rovers as a club which should be able to compete for the "best of the rest" spot - ie 6th - and tries to fit that view into a business plan to provide the best platform for the club to compete at that level. He also said that the fat has been trimmed from the squad and it has to be so for a club of our size - eg selling Mahon - in an ideal world we kept him but this isn't an ideal world and as a utility player at best he had to go.
