  1. 188 to win after lunch on the fourth day, heaps of time, but on a crumbling Indian wicket. Wolfie, Kohli really got the sh1ts when he got out. Some doubt, but for a few seconds he refused to go. He'll cop a bit for that.
  2. I like that, but you just know that Kohli is going to come back and absolutely smash you at some stage. He's that good.
  3. Lyon has the best stats for a visiting bowler in India. Kohli does himself again, not offering a shot.
  4. It took a good catch to get him in the firstm and a great piece of deception from SOK in the second. Kohli was obviously not reading SOK at all to leave a ball that went straight on rather than turning. Kohli is a great batsman and will be fuming today over his dismissals and his teams poor performance. I don't think the Indians have quite worked out how to use DRS effectively yet. They made some poor decisions there.
  5. Done em, inside three days by 333 runs. SOK 6-35 in both innings. Wouldn't have thought this two bit very young Aussie side would have it in them, but they have. Top stuff.
  6. Australia have knocked over Kohli for 0 and 13 , IN INDIA. In the home town of the slumdogs. Go Aussies. India 3/53 chasing 441 to win. Mind you, in the following tests it will be normal service resumed.
  7. Not so on this side of the equator, never has been. I can't think of anyone of my mates that knew it was on. I did, but didn't take in the score til after checking out the Rovers score. I did check that it was the Sharks first proper run of the season, and didn't recognise a couple of names in the squad. Perhaps the game should be put on half way through the season, when both squads are up and running.
  8. Enormous win for the Aussies to beat Pakistan by an innings + in a heavily rain delayed game.
  9. It's the first bit of silverware the Sharks have ever won. Been in the NRL since 1967, so quite a momentous occasion in this neck of the woods. Came back from wooden spooners two years back to Premiers. We've got a good mix of experience and youth, some "hard " men and some smooth and silky players. Some quick and some fast. Having said that, Melbourne Storm nearly took it, it was just the first 40 mins that emptied the storms tank. If you get the chance to watch a replay, do it, it was a good game.
  10. And then, you've got to play the mighty Sharks in the Club Challenge. Pity we won't have Ennis as half, but we'll pick up some annoying character.
  11. What all decent restaurants should do: I booked online... They confirmed... Two days before they emailed me asking to reconfirm or cancel... We went, and had a great time.... then this: Hello from the Fort Denison Restaurant, Thank you for joining us over the past week. We are always looking to ensure our diners have a great experience at the island and therefore invite you to provide any feedback that you would like to share with us. If you have any comments on anything that you particularly enjoyed including food, beverage, service and experience, or anything you would like to see changed it would be greatly appreciated in our efforts to continue to provide a great Sydney dining experience. Thank you, Jennie The Reservations Team It doesn't take much, all automated, but it makes you feel wanted.
  12. Sorry to read about your troubles, Al. Best of luck with your recovery. I'm off tomorrow playing my home course. 6.2 kms of hard play. Can't ever get the better of it. It has a slope rating of 133, a couple of really long par 4's, and a few par 5's that absolutely destroy me. Of course, the wind always comes hard at you from the south. For some reason they made the greens like glass, over touch, miss and you're gone! Having said that, there's always one shot that will get me back thinking I can master it........ www.theridgegolf.com.au photos are old, there's a lot more trees around now. It would have to be one of the best municipal courses in Aust.
  13. OOT, Have a look at the situation NZ is in now! 4 down and still behind with two days to go. It's all very well going hell for leather, but if, at the end of the match, you lose, it was all for nought. Except for the glory of having your name in the record books. BTW, check out Dave Warner's catch to get him out in his second dig. While you're there, have a look at Adam Voges' test average.
  14. Difference is Baz, Warner is Aussie through and through, plus, he's a lot younger than Pietersen. Having said that, I'll bet the Aussies are cheering the turmoil in the England camp.
  15. Tom, I've found, the only way to get better at golf, is to play and practice and practice and practice
  16. Koi, what they should do in RL is to allow short term swaps from countries to other countries. Maybe 12/24 month contracts, just to show up and coming players whats happenning in other places. Maybe they could "twin" clubs in different countries.
  17. Played today, bit wet underfoot, but not bad. Lovely sunny autumn afternoon, light winds, but unfortunately very little run (helps my game no end). Off to Nowra (two hours south of Sydney) on Thursday with a group of 16 from our social golf club. Overnight stay, play two courses, bit of a knees up on thursday evening. Good stuff. One of the best things about golf in Australia is that you can play year round. Magic.
  18. Koi, If you get chance, watch the South v Brisbane, played yesterday (friday 25/4). A really good game, interspersed with some poor defence, but it did contain one of the best tries you'll ever see, Greg Inglis. 89 meters, beat 8 or nine bronco defenders, and puts the ball down sooo coolly. The Burgess Bros had great games, especially Sam. The game ended up 28-26 in favour of Souths with a very contentious penalty in the 70 something minute
  19. The Modern Jazz Quartet - Summertime (just listening to it)
  20. It must be, ODB if you're posting on it Don, the team in transition is the Aussie one. Notwithstanding that, it was a tremendous series, full of ups and downs for both sides. Shame Steyn got injured in the last test. The standard of cricket and the excitement got many Indian followers on cricinfo.com going. Shame Smith saw that this was the time to retire, not pretty to watch, but a very important part of the Saffers set up. He had a couple more years left in him I thought.
  21. puts the Ashes series into context, doesn't it. Beating the number one test team on their own turf. This IS a good Aussie side, and it's not the finished article yet. This is a team in transition, and hopefully will continue to produce. Clarke has won me over with that first innings 165, and the way he overcame that assault (for that is what it was) on him. He's up there with Steve Waugh now. Dave Warner, speaks his mind and then let's his bat do the talking.
  22. Probably not the right thread for this, but; Clare, it was fantastic to meet you today, such a great afternoon in one of Sydney's iconic pubs. For those that haven't met Clare yet, go out of your way to do so, likes a pint, good company, and Rovers as well. Can't get any better. Clare, look forward to your return down under, look after yourself and come and see Vic and I as soon as you can make it. Safe trip home, take care. ps, sorry Wigan lost.
