Getting fed up with those on here moaning about ‘Ben bashing’ or whatever they’re calling it. It’s been said a million times over already, so it really shouldn’t need saying again, but it’s not what this is about. It’s because we have so many glaring weaknesses in our team that we shouldn’t have shelled out £7 million on potential. That’s the crux of it. If we had a bottomless pit I’m sure we’d all be thrilled with bringing in a young lad who could one day make a name for himself. As it stands, and at no fault of Ben’s, this is looking to be a very baffling and costly signing.

Fair do’s to the man coughing up the necessary £10+ million that it would likely take to get either.

How the heck are we affording Maupay or Adams?

Rodwell is getting crucified on Twitter by their fans so he can’t have painted himself in glory on the doc (I’ve just started it so can’t comment). He seems to have disappeared from our squad after the initial positivity surrounding the odd cameo (forgetting his last CB performance). Can’t see him staying around if I had to call it right now.

For a supposed midfielder when he was younger, Lenihan is dreadful on the ball. Poor first touch and couldn’t pass wind. He’ll never make it at Championship level or above there which is why I’m guessing BR and ROI management see him as a centre half (and before anyone says, yes I agree his form has been terrible this season there).

Would love to know what our scouts saw in Bell. I can’t imagine he was exactly Roberto Carlos at Fleetwood.

The alternative is Williams. Choosing between them is like deciding which b*llock you’d prefer to be whacked in.

We’re going to need to upset the bookies between now and mid January or we will begin to look over our shoulder. Hopefully we can pull a Leeds or two out of the bag between now and then as it could well be a very long festive period given our fixtures.

The coaches would surely know by now if it’s an issue? IF it is effecting him then he needs this operation now, even if Jason may not be Championship standard.

Surely? The mentality of the boys (and I say that purposefully) and management just isn’t right when ahead in matches. We’re all sick and tired of it. If TM believes it to be solely a player issue (which I don’t) then he needs to rectify it in the transfer window instead of spunking what little budget we do have, on potential.

Well they are/have been scouting him as I’ve said, Chaddy. Let’s wait and see.

Funnily enough a Hammers mate of mine with connections at the club got in touch before the rumours surfaced to say they were definitely scouting him with a view to a potential bid in January. I was hoping we'd have him for the season but I think the V's will be seriously tested come the New Year.

It makes sense given his contract situation and form, but I'm sure we all fear an injury or drop in consistency now. Prove us wrong, Corry.

They just lost 1-0 at home to Bristol City so we really really need to be winning this one what with our two away fixtures to come.

Personally I think those 2 inside forwards - whoever they have been - are always largely ineffective for us from an attacking point of view. The likes of Bennett and Reed can put in a good shift there but how many goals are they going to get you? Seems like no bugger scores for us outside of Graham, Dack or Mulgrew. We need some genuine wide men in Jan but I’m not sure Mowbray sees it that way.

It’s this inside forward thing that puzzles me too. Brereton, Armstrong & co aren’t Robben or Sane. I know Arma had a stinker today but we’re not using any of these lads to their full effect.

Certainly feel like we need a more detailed explanation than ‘he needs to build his upper body strength.’ He played a full season for Forest up top FFS. Something not right with this as you say.
