Yep. What is it with these away matches where we don’t even create one chance? It’s happened 5-6 times now. It’s not acceptable. And against our local rivals. As you say, how on earth can we not be Motivated for today? If Tomasson comes on all grinning after the game, I think I’ll go insane.

He was infuriating last night. I genuinely don’t think he made one forward pass all night. He was easier to read than the Beano…get the ball, hold onto it, turn inside, pass either backwards or sideways. I think I’ll just go to bed next time I see him line up at right back, let alone wing back where he simply has to contribute going forwards. I’m still seething at JDT this morning. So many basic errors with his line up and system, not to mention his stubbornness not to change things much earlier. It’s frightening how bad he got it.

That only scratches the surface. Throw in the last couple of seasons too and it would no doubt make for extremely depressing reading.

Two of the bottom three to come next (if Coventry pull their finger out). This is Rovers, of course, but such a massive chance to go into the WC in the top two. We may well get another shot at a January promotion bid. I would say we won’t be as silly to f*ck that up once again but who am I kidding! Anyway, let’s enjoy tonight. Few beers to celebrate!

Wharton’s pass was just superb. He is going to bring in some serious money for us one day. I just hope he’s in a Rovers shirt for a while yet.

I would imagine they’ll acclimatise better than many of their European counterparts though.

For those looking forward to watching it, who are people's tips to win it? Hard to look past the South Americans (Brazil and Argentina) for me. Weather will help, whilst the Brazilians have the best squad IMO. Argentina are unbeaten in 35(?) games - so they'll be a tough nut to crack for anyone and have some real match winners.
