The Continental, South Meadow Lane, www.newcontinental.org.uk , excellent value for money, good riverside location, 10 mins walk from railway station.

Used to be a good place. last time I went, the upholstery was threadbare, the staff uniforms scruffy, the garden and furniture scruffy, the tables and window bottoms had drinks stains and the menu and theming was akin to a Beefeater.

Sukhi's has been the best of the bunch since it opened. I seem to remember that the owner of Sukhi's used to be the head waiter at Akash.

I did offer alternatives! Also worth a visit is The Continental in Preston off Fishergate Brow. Hard to find but check the website. Good food, good beers and live music at weekends.
