Anybody going to Blackpool?
-
If we go down, I'm blaming it on Edward III invading Scotland.
It was King Harold and the French. East Kenters should know better.
-
It's a way for the anti-Souness brigade to put the blame on him if things go badly this season. The squad is pretty good, and has the ability to finish top half. If I remember correctly, Newcastle started pretty poorly last season (something like 3 points from 6 matches), but they still were able to finish pretty well.
If we get relegated, BOTH managers should be blamed. Funny that with the same players and a different manager, 17th wasn't near good enough, but with a new manager it would be acceptable.
Here's hoping Hughes was the right choice and we finish top half.
Doom-monger. Pessimist.

If the team that finished for Rovers last season was good enough to keep us up, then so is the team this time round. To say that it'll be Souness' fault if we go down this season is absolutely ludicrous *shakes his head in disbelief*.
Personally, I don't think there's any reason why we can't charge up that table and finish in the top half this season. We've got over 30 games to go, for goodness sake!! Happy with 17th place?? Sod that, we're good enough for better things...
True.

The bloke doesn't give up and can hit a decent cross.
In fact, i love him and i think i'll be his number 1 fan
How long have you been supporting Rovers?

Rovers first win of the season. 1-0
Whats this Bothroyd lad like? Is he the new Oysterhausen?
Looks like Martin Dahlin! Oh no - hope he doesn't play the same!

Looking at the age of some of those listed blows a huge hole in the statement that "wisdom comes with age".
Sad really.
Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

I won't be at the match on Saturday because I am going to Lanzarote tomorrow.
But then I was on holiday when we won the cup at Cardiff.
Is this a good omen?
Only if you cancel Lanzarote and spend a fortnight in Cardiff!
-
I hope he is given the financial backing he needs and I hope the fans stay behind him.
Oh come on!
Surely he can afford a season ticket on the train from Macclesfield? What were Wales paying him in? Leeks?!
Any spare leeks should be sent to Leavers for the new pies!
-
There can be no pre-requisite for managerial experience at premiership level, or it would be a closed shop run by geriatrics.
-
Ewood will reek of optimism on Saturday.
hope thats better than the pies
Leavers are allegedly working on a new chicken and leek recipe already.

In order to give Mr Hughes the best welcome, how can we silence the drummer(s)?

Oh well not long to go now, the wait is nearly over.
Although i do hope the press conference isnt to confirm that wales wont let him leave
If I understand correctly, they can't stop him.
Oh well, whys that?
Contract has release clause if a prem club comes calling.

Dunno about anyone else, but the clock seems to be ticking very slowly this afternoon.......

Hughes' long ball tactics
Is this for real? Playing long ball tactics is the WORST style of football..!!
Don't panic. He could only do the best with very limited resources at Wales.
I wouldn't expect a carbon copy at Ewood.

..naughty , naughty MCMC, items pertaining to "who will Souness poach" should be placed in the proper recepticle. Failure to do so will result in appropriate penalty and the removal of posting rights.
STEWARDS!
Sorry!!!!!

I really thought we would go with someone who has shown they can take over the team at all levels, that would know how to re-build after a relegation. That would have experience in bringing in young players blending the right mix of youth and experience. A manager that would get the team working as one for the cause, a never say die attitude and play decent football doing it. I would have rather kept Souness than hired this man.
Going down and may I remind you all when we do that this is what YOU wanted.
All the things you seem to know about Mark Hughes are being contradicted by someone who actually plays for him.
from teamtalk:
Aston Villa defender Mark Delaney has pleaded with Mark Hughes to remain as Wales manager and resist any approach by Blackburn.
Delaney is hoping the challenge of leading Wales to their first tournament since 1958 will persuade his international boss to snub the chance to move into club management.
He told the club's official website: "I think everybody that saw the vacancy automatically thought of Mark because he'd been there as a player and because of the job he's done for Wales. But it's encouraging to see he wants to fulfil his ambitions with Wales.
"It's not a surprise to see him linked with these jobs. What he's done for Welsh football has been nothing short of dramatic. We were down and pretty much out and he's turned it round full circle.
"Now we're a nation to be reckoned with home and away, so what he's done with limited resources is remarkable.
"It's not just Blackburn. Any job that comes up, I'm sure he's going to be linked with. So the quicker the management positions are filled, the better for us."
Actually I don't state anywhere that I KNOW anything about Mark Hughes other than he has done NONE of the things I have listed. You know my feelings about this appointment should it come off and that is abut as far as I really need to go. This whole appointment seems to me to be driven on emotion.
I don't feel Sparky can do this that's all. If he is to be our boss I wish him good luck and I sincerely hope he shows me to be totally wrong. I just feel that we should be appointing someone that has actually run a CLUB and shown to be able to instill stability and contiuous improvement into that club at all levels. That's all, I get a bit wound up about our Rovers sometimes.
Go fer a ride on yer chopper - it might help you calm down.

Should be a cracking atmosphere' whatever happens between now and 3pm Saturday......

Lordy, please NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Just read this. Would be absolutely terrible if it follows the same betting pattern as Souness' arrival at Newcastle showed.
Non starter.
