You extend Dolan's contract because a) it'll be very cheap (his own fault for holding out) and b) we need warm bodies.

Gallagher should be shown the door though. Sadly they won't let us spend his wages on other players - they showed that when Ayala, Dack and BBD left and weren't replaced.

The club is being dumbed down to reduce the losses. Probably won't stop cutting until we're in the National League.

The Armstrong and Wharton money needs investing. We must be well within the limits of FFP having spent about 20p during the last few seasons.  Failure to invest is seeing us dropping into League 2. This squad isn’t good enough for the Championship, as it stands.

The club makes an annyal operating loss of about £20m before transfers. Without funding from India the transfer income is paying the wages.

Personally, I thought they were fun to watch until the wheels fell off in December.   There wasn’t enough squad depth to manage the injuries.   Then Travis left for Ipswich and Adam Wharton was sold.   The squad as assembled in the fall was competitive but lacked depth.    With one of the lowest payrolls in the league, it was never going to be a very athletic team.

That's a fair summary. The striker situation is diabolical after so many blank transfer windows. So no surprise many blank score sheets.

The 2 most likely to happen I fear

Sheff Wed nailed on to win at Sunferland. Plymouth decent at home against a Hull team that by that time will likely be out of playoff contention. Brum at home to a Norwich likely already in the playoffs and with a manager with a history of playing ridiculously weak lineups in that situation. Leicester won't be sufficiently hungover to be held to a draw. Sadly that's the most likely outcome whatever the number of permutations.

Sad news re Scott Wharton…a bad knee injury ( ACL plus other issues ) a long term recovery. I wish him all the best. He often thinks he’s Bobby Moore ..but he’s an honest lad who plays for the shirt…he will be missed .

Would have been a very good player for L1 as it plays to his aerial strength.

No its not unfair or dismissive at all. We made all mistakes all season under JDT and Eustace. So not really evidence was it.

We don't know what is said at Brockhall and in the dressing room do we?

    non story for me.

Of course he cares about the result but he has remain upbeat and positive. That's his job.

I think he will be good manager here and given him the summer transfer window to bring in his own players, reshaped the squad into what he wants and pre season and I think we can get top 10 next season.

    Is that in League 1😃

Szmodics has active interest from 2 current prem teams and is practically sold, I would be surprised if fees aren't as good as agreed. Also led to believe he doesn't actually want to leave but it's bound to happen....

A player aged nearly 29 who has played most of his career in the lower leagues doesn't want to treble his wages in the Prem?! Think again.

  8. Hyam was excellent for the first 3/4 months but has never been anywhere near that level since his injury at Rotherham. It recurred earlier this season and he's been pants since returning. Don't know if the downturn is physical or psychological but he's certainly become a liability and has to be moved on in the summer.

    Also Pears.

Wtf man. He went down early for the first pen

He also was shocking for the first goal although yes hyam caused it but seriously. He doesn't ooze confidence and probably makes the defense nervous

Pears got away with several ill judged rushes out of his area and was all at sea with the in swinging corners. He's never far away from a calamitous error. But he's still better than Walstedt.....

When we lose to Leeds it’ll be 10 points from 13 league games under Eustace and 1 win.

JDTs final 13 league games….11 points.

Worth reminding all those with blinkers on raving about how we’ve improved the last few weeks and constantly quoting X points in X games.

Has a manager ever had the opposite of ‘new manager bounce’ to this extreme

To be fair the squad is mostly crap for this level. It's impossible to polish turds. Having a 16 year old as the backup striker on the bench says it all when Bristol can bring on as subs 3 experienced proven strikers all better than any of ours. Venkys have presided over a decimation of the squad and the last three transfer windows have been pitiful.

This bloke needs the captaincy ripping off him at full time. A disgrace to the shirt let alone someone the boys should look up to as our captain.

I really would put that in my top 5 worst individual Rover performances during my 30 years of following us. It was that bad.

It was a performance that absolutely STANK. Right to the very end he was intent on giving them opportunities from nothing. Carter or even O'Riordan should take his place for the remainder of the season. And tell hias agent he needs to find another club this summer.

Hyams fotmob rating is a sight in itself. But he also won zero tackles...because he didn't attempt one all game.

Hyam's performance was even worse than Shane Duffy's sabotage effort in his final appearance. Hyam looked like he was playing under the influence of sleeping tablets.

Totally bizarre decision. Can't think of any justification for it at all. Eustace must have been watching a totally different game.

Utterly ridiculous that Wharton was the defender taken off at half time unless it was injury related. Not the quickest but still way faster than the blundering Mcfadzean.

We've only seen him in the odd cameo appearance but Markanday is improving this season.

He'll presumably come good in the last season of his contract, score a bunch of goals and leave on a free, such is the Rovers way.

Contracted to 2025 plus one year option.
