The January 2026 Transfer Window
alcd replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He hasn't played for 3 months so it would be March before he would be likely to start. We'll be as good as down by then. -

Probably just a loan. -

They're buying players for L1. He would be the next Richie Smallwood. -

That would leave 18 year old Michalski as the number 1 keeper with Pears injured. -

Makama is tearing up the Championship with Norwich. He's a powerful central striker aged 21 signed for £1.2m from Lincoln at the beginning of August. Gestede should have been all over that earlier in the summer. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

No established L1 clubs lose as much as the current annual operating loss of £15 m ++ at Rovers. Wage bill would be slashed from current £25m (taking account of this season's reductions) probably to £10 at most. TV and solidarity receipts are less than £10m. Do the maths and you'll find the losses in L1 will be less than £10m. -

Bristol City are flush with funds after receiving a £10m sell-on for Seymenyo. -
There's no sign that Hedges will sign a contract extension and he certainly won't after relegation when the wage will be further reduced.
-
They were averaging only a point a match even when a virtually full squad was avaliable until mid-October. No reason to suppose it'll be even as good as that in the second half of the season.
-
He looks like a little schoolboy who's wandered into a man's game. Him and Cantwell give the ball away for fun.
-
Left wingback is a glaring weakness but Ismael doesn't seem to be bothered by it. DeNeve is useless offering absolutely nothing going forward and a total liability defensively. Venkys clearly aren't the least bit bothered by relegation if they won't fund a replacement for Hedges who won't be back until the final match of the season at best. The budget and cutting losses is everything. Little wonder they are utterly despised by the what remains of the fan base.

More likely to be 0-0 or 0-1. -
Keep doing the same thing - using DeNeve - and expect a different result. Ismael is both stubborn and thick. Powell is not the answer but still much better than the useless Belgian.
-
Good that he won't be in their team against us in a couple of weeks time.

Just like Emmanual Dennis last year. -
**One for Venkys to sell this summer. Would get a professional contract at any normal club.

Pears is currently injured so a move seems unlikely. -

Dec Neve gets my vote. He's less effective than Powell. -
No, Miller is not back for Watford.

Be playing against us in 3 weeks time so they'll certainly be out of it after that. -

He completed full 90 minutes in the final group stage match about 3 weeks ago. -

Cantwell has become a liability losing possession for fun and delivering appalling dead ball kicks. -

Apparently he's been struggling with a wrist injury for a few weeks. -

That'll be another deadline day sale to shoot us in the head this time. Getting money in is absolutely all that matters.
