It'll be 9 months and a payoff then onto the next one. -
The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.

Are those who are saying Toth is worse than Pears basing that on inside info from the training ground as it surely cannot be from only 3 first team appearances. If he cost a few hundred thousand he should surely be given a few more matches to show he's not up to it? -
Lose at Stoke as they will and this thread can certainly be closed.

Hamstring is usually 6 weeks so season effectively over for him as it is for the entire club anyway. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Five defeats in the last six away matches and all of them with dismal performances back to front. Scarcely looked like scoring in most of them. Just four efforts on target today against the worst defence in this league. Already I've decided I won't be going to any more away matches this season. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Looks like the players are as uninspired by this appointment as I am. He will find it difficult to reboot for next season when this one finishes as dismally as seems likely. Ismael was a poor choice as he has no track record of success other than a single season at Barnsley 4 years ago. He's been sacked in each of his last 3 head coach posts after less than 12 months. Did they all get it wrong?? Add to that, his assistant Whitehead, hasn't held a coaching position anywhere for more than 6months. Compare that to the vast experience of the previous assistant Keith Downing. Giving Ismael a three and a half year contract was crazy and clearly motivated by trying to show the owners are looking long-term when they obviously aren't. -

Pears is undoubtedly the worst keeper at Rovers for at least the last 60 years I've been supporting the club. There may have been one or two worse but they played less than 10 games and could not be considered as first choice eg Ramsbottom, Collier and Dickens. Pears has absolutely no presence and no clue how to deal with high balls in the box. Whoever - we know it's Benson-is responsible for scouting and prepping the keepers should be out of the door. But we all know it won't happen under this regime. -

Will be gone by Xmas when we're rock bottom. Then again Venkys won't want to pay 3 years of compensation so he might hang on a bit longer. -

He missed some matches a couple of months ago with what was described at the time as a recurrence of an old injury. The meniscus was probably the issue then. -

Just like Hedges it was difficult to remember anything of note that he ever did apart from a spectacular shot into the top corner on Boxing Day 1970 v Brum. A bit like Hedges single wonder goal v Watford -

I would imagine they'll be very happy as both Brittain and Wood had the standout season of their career to date. -
Spot on analysis. The players contract situation is irrecoverable now in most cases. That ship has sailed.
-
Dennis already looks like a waste of £20000 a week. Sanderson showed at Swansea why he couldn't get a game at Birmingham in L1. Woodrow done nothing yet. Forshaw barely adequate.
-
That is an utterly shameful goal for a professional goalkeeper to concede. It's what you expect to see on a Sunday morning in the park.
-
They held on to Siggy because both of the striker transfers went to the last day. Obviously that didn't please him.
-
Really hope that's a windup and not ITK.
-
Worse than George Boateng who's never been a head coach?? Or Karanka with just a single success in management and that was 10 years ago?
-
Jed Wallace is a player though.
-
Cheap option. The only thing that matters to Venkys.
-
Karanka would be an appalling appointment on a par with Coyle in 2016. Apart from a single heavily bankrolled promotion 8 years ago with Boro he's done absolutely nothing. Was an absolute disaster at Brum and since then has been out of work. Wouldn't be surprising though because the January window showed that Guestede hasn't a clue.
-
Liam Rosenier is in a job so would cost. End of. Karl Robinson???? He's in a job too. Never heard of Stephan. The other two would be fine but of course would only be to the end of the season.
-
Allardyce would walk over broken glass before he'd work for Venkys again.

The debt resides in India where they will have mortgaged properties to raise the funds to put into the club. They are currently kicking the can down the road to avoid it all kicking off there if the club is sold.
