  1. The Jam - Mr Clean From one of the greatest albums ever made
  2. Indeed Tony. And it’s no coincidence that City’s best defender over the past few seasons has been Vincent Kompany. All the great teams have been built around a rock solid central defence, think 70s Leeds and Derby, 70s and 80s Liverpool, 90s and 00s United, Arsenal and Chelsea, not to mention our own title winning team. All with big powerful centre halves who took no prisoners. Football is not a complicated game. You coming up to my adopted city for the Rangers game mate?
  3. When we had Bailey and Hird as our full backs with Keeley and Faz in the middle we had as good a defence as you will ever get at that level.
  4. Ah, the other half of that famous Scottish double act, alongside Ben Doon
  5. The Clash - Train in Vain
  6. Paul Weller - The Soul Searchers https://youtu.be/Bfg-VWlopq8
  7. I think I have posted this sentiment before but we Rovers fans owe this man a helluva lot. He is right up there with Furphy, Lee, Kendall, Saxton, Kenny, Souness, Hughes and Parkes for me.
  8. The Electric Light Orchestra - Livin Thing
  9. Kirsty MCColl - There’s a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He’s Elvis
  10. Good enough to play alongside Pele and Georgie Best as well

  12. Elbow - The Bones of You
  13. Edwin Starr - S.O.S. (Stop Her on Sight)
  14. David Bowie - Oh You Pretty Things
  15. The Knack - My Sharona https://youtu.be/BR2JtsVumFA
  16. I won’t be wearing the training kit around Glasgow, that’s for certain!
  17. The Beatles - Happiness is a Warm Gun
  18. The Vapors - Jimmie Jones
  19. Paul Weller - You Do Something To Me
  20. And hopefully via The Persuaders original and not that awful cover version by The Pretenders.
  21. Much as I was tempted to post a Take That song..... Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
  22. He couldn't get in it back then Mark, in all honesty ha ha.
  23. I've been bald since I was 19 so I can't really comment on that heh heh, but Howard Kendall signed my brother for Rovers as a 16 year old and our kid ended up with one of his shirts (same kit as is featured in that clip above). I was always surprised at how small it was. Top bloke and what a player and manager he was!
  24. Not quite as far back in time but still brings back wonderful memories. Howard Kendall scoring a rare goal at Ewood
